  • do we know minimum salary for the application?

    • -1

I assume this is the kind of things that if you have to ask, you can't afford it….

    • They removed the explicitly stated minimum income requirement (which used to be $150,000). This seems to be a fairly common thing, although some banks do still have a stated minimum income requirement.

  • am I able to apply if I have a citi premier?

    • +2

Just asked this on their Live Chat. Her response was 'this is for new citi customers only'.

Cannot find anything on the offer that says this.

      • i suppose i could just cancel premier to apply for this. doesn't say anything about 12-18m waiting period

    • For reference I've done the opposite and got the bonus points

    • I've personally had the premier and applied for the Prestige at the same time and got the bonus for it. That was last year. I've now cancelled the Prestige and just applied for another premier card giving 110k velocity.

      • Hey mate, so did you cancel your prestige because of end of payall and applied for premier which is the velocity bonus card with point hacks?

Some people were saying premier bonus of 110k is only for new customers, did you get the bonus if you don't mind me asking?

        • Nah cancelled the Prestige as got the bonus already. I don't hold cards as I cancel and churn to the next.

I'm not too sure, I've read somewhere that you can get the bonus on the second premier card. I'll let you know as I've reached the spend already.

200k points for $1400 and no more PAYALL next year

  • What kind of flights does 200k velocity points get you? I remember last time I looked, it was hardly anything.

Unlike Qantas Classic Rewards which can be quite good value with 200k points.

    • +6

well business to europe one way is about 139k VFF + $500-800 in fees.
economy to europe is about 70-75k VFF + $300 fees.

    • +2

Lol read comments below. I got biz class flights from Singapore to Europe for 120k one way, first class flight from Doha to Perth for like 100k, hmm plenty other options available if you go looking

      • -1

What airline and what points system?

        • Um velocity points. Singapore airlines business class, Qatar airways first

    • examples:
Australia to SIN can be 67-80k
      SIN - Europe approx 90k +

    • +1

      SYD-LAX 44,800 points + $141 AUD
      SYD-SIN 29,000 points + $162 AUD
      SYD-DOH 56,000 points + $209 AUD
      SYD-SIN-LHR 75,000 points + $249 AUD

  • +5

So the 200000 points will be credited after a year? Also, do they charge a 3% transaction fee on international spend?

Edit: here's some clarification "Up to 200,000 bonus Velocity Points¹, earn 150,000 bonus Velocity Points when you spend $12,000 on eligible purchases within 3 months from approval and 50,000 bonus Velocity Points when you keep your card open for over 12 months and enrol in Points Autosweep"

Edit 2: "Overseas transaction fee - 3.40% of the converted amount" that's on the high side

    • 3.4% sheesh!

  • +1

About to cancel mine after this months pay all. Be interesting to see if there’s any retention offers….

    • Feel like I missed out on the pay all thingy. How were you guys using it? To what benefit?

      • +11

Don't ask…you will just get sad.

        It's over….that's all that matters.

      • Speaking to most people. It was such a broke system with how crazy it is

      • Transferred $20k to my own account every month. Got 20k points (and some free cashflow)

        • 20k points each month? How much was that worth when paying with points?

      • +2

Yeah, as per below, don't ask. Don't make us think about that hot ex girlfriend… :/ RIP payall

    • Is payall finishing this month? I have next one scheduled on the 10th..

      • +1

Citi PayAll Program to Be Shut down discussion in forum.

Citi PayAll no longer available: Citi PayAll will no longer be available from 20 January 2025.
All Citi PayAll scheduled payments with a due date of 20 January 2025 and onwards will not be processed.
For more details, please refer to the FAQs and Variation Notice.

        • Cheers. It was great..

These 'deals' are starting to get really shitty lately to be honest.

The exclusion period of not applying is going up to 24 months from 12 months, with many of the banks. Bonus points are less and the annual fees are increasing.

Then you have folks like Citi that are just taking the piss at this point with the minimum spend requirements.

I understand that the economy and all this stuff is already happening in the USA (which is now making its way to here), but it's unsustainable. Banks want business and they're only going to push away customers doing this.

And it sucks for us churners, too.

    • +4

They don't want churners, they want customers will a consistently high monthly spend.

      • In other words, they're applying all these new restrictions to try and weed out churners.

  • I had this card 4 months ago, can I apply again?

    • New Citi Prestige Credit Card customers only

      • But i cancelled mine 4 months ago

  • +1

I could have sworn just a month or two ago that this card came with more points and with fewer hoops to jump through….

  • Overseas transaction fee: 3.40% of the converted amount
    Killer.

    • Any decent cards ever include the fee free international transactions?

      • +1

        NAB Reward Signature.

        • And 28 degrees card, if you still have it…

          • +1

@Craze: Did they survive the mass exodus after the benefits were gutted?

            • +1

@hashtagbargain: i expect them to fold it soon. everyone left

              • @mr_asstight: Not necessarily- some still valued the price protection insurance and stayed. And then Latitude waived the first year fee which is a bonus on top.

  • I've never had Citi before. If I open this now, can I still use Payall for 1 month for the $12k spend, get 150k VFF points, and close?
The $700 fee for 150k points - does that compare well?

    • Replying to my own post:
No Citi have just changed the t&C's, Payall no longer counts towards minimum spend if you open the card now.
OP @pohaau please clarify that in the intro otherwise someone may get caught out by the outdated Payall advice.

      • I wish i saw this comment earlier.. I applied for this card yesterday

  • +1

Be careful - it is 150k on sign up, then 50k extra after holding for a year, maybe improve the title / details.

    • +1

Agreed. Title is good but details is misleading as missing the "up to" word.

  • Hmm, no 0% balance transfer on this offer, which is one of the big drawcards for the Qantas version of this card. Arguably better value getting the 125k QFF points on that deal and then doing 9 months of balance transfer to the offset. If you can only apply for one card, and get a big enough credit limit, then the interest savings on your home loan may possibly be better value. Depends if you prefer more business class flights, or more money in your pocket on the home loan.

  • Hi all, anyone can confirm if there is any waiting period on this one? I used to have prestige but for QFF and got bonus points in September 2024.

    • did you find an answer to this?

      • Nah man, I am still waiting for someone to confirm before applying

  • Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of applying for the Citi Prestige with the 200k bonus velocity points.

I do have a Citi Premier currently and from what I read around some are saying for Citi there is no such exclusion and should be able to get it.

However looking at the T&C they mention "This offer is not available when closing or transferring from another Citi branded credit card account or in conjunction with any other Citi branded credit card offer."

So I'm wondering if anyone can confirm whether I will still be eligible for the bonus points if I were to apply for this?

    • I can confirm. Applied prestige while holding Citi premier and got the bonus. Cards good too, made out of metal?
I've actually done one better recently, got the Citi premier bonus (220k to 110k VFF) while holding the same card. You'll be fine.

      • +1

Thanks for that! I decided to apply via PH exclusive, which should hopefully net me 200k VFF even though I have to hold it for at least 12 months.

Seems like a good potential to churn for points for this.

  • Is this not a better deal? 250k points and still running. Same spend requirements etc.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/873993

    • +1

No technically this gives 300k Citi rewards that you can confirm to 150k VFF in the first year.

      • +1

Ah ok thank you! Cant remove my down vote but seems a better deal.

        • +1

Np! Oh really, thought you have 72 hours to revoke? You only did it less than 24 hours ago. It doesn't let you if you click on votesright below the heading?

      • If we don't do the autosweep do we get the 300k Membership rewards points?

        • +3

Yes, You get the 300k into the account and it's for you to auto sweep at a later date. I didn't apply for this card specifically as I applied for the Premier (220k Citi/110k VFF) but theory is the same.

I enabled auto sweep to be end of the month, I received the points mid month (I did this in case Citi was being funny with the bonuses). I then turned auto off sweep, transferred all to Krisflyer and closed the account once it hits my Krisflyer account.

  • the Uber deal disappeared from my app

  • Since this offer doesn't have a 0% BT, it's effectively paying $700 for 150k VFF. That's not a good offer if you're chasing VFF.

If you're not chasing VFF then the regular Citi Prestige deal which has 0% BT for 6 months (~$400 home loan interest saved) plus ~$1250 Flybuys Dollars is better.

  • Just applied for this. Has anyone applied and managed to get the $700 back for instance?

    • I just got my card now. I was going to book flights soonish and will be able to do 12k spend for 3 months. Lets see if I can get that much FF points

      • How long did it take to approve you?

        • I already have a citi premier it took 4 days. I'll update if i can get the $700 back.

          • @svanaut: Citi (NAB) has adopted NABs no annual fee refund policy. Tried calling quite a few times and it’s in their policy to not refund anything now. At least I’ve been using the perks of the Prestige card. ($750 🥲)
