    • Bought one last week for $600. Need to resist from making further unnecessary purchases…

      • Damn.. $600 is a lot for an impulse buy. I've bought things I didn't need, but $600 is too much.

  • Finally bit the bullet. Bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Kogan for $572.80. I hope I don't regret this.

Ozbargain, helping me buy things I didn't know I needed since 2011.

    Just bought 2x27" Dells ($231 each)(http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331220822168) and a 4TB HDD ($158)(http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261510882481)

  • just got the dyson DC37 + swivel hard floor tool for $375 delivered. not bad!! thank you ozbargain

    Loot:

    Logitech G27 for $212 (DSE)
    Moto G 16G for $189 (Kogan)

I think that's enough shopping for a Sunday morning.

  • +2

Just picked up my Galaxy S5 from in-store, with a refund of the $5.20 postage fee. Now committed to a Dyson Animal @ $555 (forgot velocity e-store link I was so excited :( ). Absolutely fantastic service, thanks TGG, nice one.

    • How did you do this? Ring the closest TTG store or TGG online?

      • +2

Wait for your confirmation email and it will tell you the store it is being processed at. Just rang them and confirmed it was ok to pick up, having already been aware of the order and picked it ready for packing!

Noting that I am sure it won't be the same for all orders, particularly if stock is not available local store etc! They specifically advise on the ebay store that pickup is not available

        • Which confirmation email?

All I received was the eBay auto generated one saying "Here's your order confirmation". And I completed checkout @ 10am on the dot

        • I got an "TGG…….allocated to store for processing" email exactly 30 minutes after ordering, latest one is just through as well…off to pick it up.

        • I see. Cheers

        • +2

went to my "promotions" tab on gmail which is why i missed it, LOL!

called up and confirmed can pickup and get delivery fee refunded. however, needed to email the store to confirm that i'm picking up.

        • Bought around 10:00 AEST, still no confirmation email from TGG (got one from ebay though) D:

    • TGG will let you pickup from store and refund the delivery fee? Are they willing to do this for all customers?

      • My TGG order says item location in Melbourne and I am in Sydney so I guess pick up only applies if the item you bought matches your postcode?

        • Or if you want to head down to Melbourne…

        • I'm in Melbourne and just bought a rangehood but no pickup option

        • you have to call up the location that it's dispatched from and ask whether you can pick it up and ask if they'll refund the delivery if you do. It will depend on the store

        • Delivery was only $9. CBf driving 30min to pickup.

    • Hi mate,

Is this the confirmation from ebay? Or is there a confirmation email from TGG website?

p.s. nvm figure it out! :)

  • +2

Being blocked as well by Paypal with no error explained. Called them, the supervisor tried to override but failed. Finally he suggested removing all linked bank accounts (not cards) and try again. Went through after 20ish payment attempts.

    • +1

Hope you don't get charged 20 times tomorrow!

I'm buying the 5000, cannot help mate. Checkout as 919 bucks, not that terrible IMHO.

      • Yeah, still a good price for the feature set, just increasing the price is poor.

        • +3

yeah, i was looking to buy the i7 model, then they jacked up the price this morning, shame on you dell.

        • I missed this deal last time https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148658, the 5000 Dell selling now is 8GB version. I will sell the 8gb ram and put into 16gb ram instead.Hopefully at the similar price as the previous deal ;)

        • +1

That actually works out to Dell STEALING the saving from eBay that the customer was meant to get.

eBay should have made price jacking within 48 hours of sale a breach of seller terms.

          Toothless.

  • Looking at getting my first SLR.

Is the Nikon D5100 single lens kit for $400 a good buy?

Spend the extra, great camera :)

      • Really? 600D Twin Lens Kit is a better buy?
600D is a good camera, but D5100 is at least comparable (and 1 gen ahead in terms of CPU). Also, twin lens kit is often something the buyer will regret soon after they started using the camera.

If video is important, then Canon 600D (standard single lens kit) might be better. Otherwise, the D5100 is better (due to faster CPU and better auto focus).

For those who missed this deal, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148658

I bought this from Dell at $919, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-5000-Series-Lapt… which has 8GB RAM compared the 16GB above, that is the only difference of specs.

Cannot find any other laptops with identical specs at this bargain price from elsewhere ( even after Dell marked it up by $100 after 10am, this is still good price after $200 discount).

Reason of buying: 4th gen i7, 1080p Full HD TOUCH screen, backlid keyboard, Radeon R7 M265 2GB graphics.

Note: I'll sell the 8gb ram and put into 16gb ram as upgrade for extra dollars ;)

As a consumer, I liked 15% off on all ebay listed items than 20% on few stores.
This 20% is an other kind of business tactic.

    • +22

As a consumer. I would like 100% off on everything than 15-20% .

    • +1

Don't know why your getting negged because last weeks offer was better.

      • So was last week's fruit.

  • Bought a Bissell 39Q6F for $150 from The Good Guys.

For the 3rd time on this thread, Apple warranty is world wide any genius bar….anywhere in the world.

      • Yes but the Apple warranty is usually 1 year for the iPad. However, if it is local stock you would be able to get 2 years at the Genius bar.

        • The Apple warranty is international on the Hong Kong model iPad Mini Wi-Fi. However, only for 12 months, not the 24 months consumer guarantee you would receive in Australia for Australian Market iPads of any type.

  • Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has spotted good deals on a electric pressure washer/cleaner. Need one for around the house. Thanks!

Want to get a stick vacuum. Any recommendations.
    Goodguys
    DC59 purple $446 after discount
    DC59 Silver $408 after discount
Which is better value, or should I wait for a better deal?

    • Me too. Also considering the DC35 for about $300 mark. Not sure which way to go.

    • +2

I was trying to decide if it worth going to the DC59 over the DC44. This answered that for me: http://www.infobarrel.com/Dyson_DC44_Vs_DC59

    • +1

Only difference I can see between the 59 models is the mini motorised tool that comes with the animal

    • +1

I wound up buying a DC59 animal a while back. Seemed the best available in stick vacuums. First use and i never knew my carpets were that dirty! Definitely worth the $$$

      • OMG My old vacuum was faking it! Just picked mine up and did same.

      • yep… i was "floored" by how bad our other vacuum was… once you go dyson u'll never go back! loll

Special +1 to GoodGuys for letting me pick up.
3 new toys in my hot little hands NOW already :):):)

    • Ah should have thought of that! Would have saved on shipping!

    • I asked and they said no pickup allowed from online store purchases. So -1 to GoodGuys from me.

Made one mistake today, not using the velocity login and cashbacks on this offer :(
Could have done with some more points, Does anyone else find these useful? (tend to shop on a tablet or mobile so I always forget about these kickers)

    • I've just signed up to cashrewards.com.au, but can you get both Velocity points and a cashback?

      • No

        • Didn't think so, misunderstood DaTa's post.

    • 1 - 1 for me, purchase from home was through E-Store link, then bought on the tablet and just forgot with all the excitement!! :(

    • I wonder which one is 'better'. Points or 2% discount?

  • Just purchased DC37 from TGG how to arrange local pick up ?

  • Bought an oven and a cooktop. This code came up at a perfect time!
