  2. Offer Period. This offer commences at 10:00am (AEDT) on 01 December 2024 and is available until 12 January 2025, or for as long as it is advertised on the eBay.com.au site (“Offer Period”). eBay reserves the right to cancel the offer at any time as set out in the Changes clause below.

  3. Eligibility. To be an "Eligible Customer" you must:

    • be registered on eBay.com.au with an Australian address;
    • list an item(s) within the Offer Period; and

To redeem this offer, Eligible Customers will need to enter the voucher code into the redemption code box during checkout when purchasing an item or items. • Time to list some dirt cheap stuff I guess?

    • +10

The minimum spends always make these deals not so good.

      • +5

Yep, and the codes won't arrive until 20 January 2025, and typically have a very short expiration date.

A bit of a smoke and mirrors promo IMHO.

        • +5

The $30 voucher deal for signing up to eBay Plus a few months back was the same. Also it didn't seem to work on any of the items I actually wanted to buy.

      Basically
      33% off
      30% off
      33% off
on those "eligible items" when they spend that exact amount, then plus shippings

      • -1

They are all 33% off, but yeah.

        • +1

T&C said 30 off 100 spend, strange the title says 30 off 90

    • +2

Thanks. Wonder what's the expiry on these. In the past similar conditional vouchers lasted 1 month.

  • +37

Would prefer it if Ebay Australia would just cancel fees for private sellers as it did in the UK.

    • +14

Yep. I am glad i didn't bother renewing my eBay plus. No single FVF listings for the past few months.

      • No single FVF listings for the past few months.

There was a promotion for 1 x 0% FVF listing in September 2024

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/865107

        • +6

Yep, October nothing, November nothing. Feels like they have been ramping it down to zero

          • @King Tightarse: Yes, in 2023 and 2024, it was only 1 (or 2?) month of 0% FVF promotions, but only to eBay Plus members.

      • +1

BS rort hey.. should have been one a month, lucky to get a couple per year.

        • Used to be 5 a month then dropped to 3 a month and then 1 per month.

          • @proudwanderer: yeah it's not even one per month lucky to be one per 3 months now.

    • +2

Yeah would be nice, I would even just be happy with 3 no FVF listings per month also.

    • yeah im surprised they don't

      • Yep i was happy to get email about now selling is free just to find out its for my ebay uk account lol

    • Can we just list our stuff on eBay UK website and have the item location here?

      • I think it is quite hard to set up with a verified UK bank account and the listings will show differently and have 10% GST added for Australia

    • The only reason eBay AU would cancel fees is if the platform is dying and desperately trying to stay relevant.

  • +1

Can confirm showing on eBay homepage on the app.

Targeted? Not showing up for me.

I'm seeing an offer for "Spend $100 on the eBay App in December and earn a $10 voucher"

  • So, do we have to actually sell the items?
    Seems pretty abusable otherwise.

    • Don't believe so. Depending on what you want to buy, the sweet spot could be 1-2 items or 5+

      • I had 5 items listed anyway.
They likely wont sell. But I've just gone and taken them down, then listed via "sell similar".
        Fingers crossed.

        • Yep that should qualify as new listings as it does for ebay FVF promos. Pop a reminder in you calendar to follow up on this if ebay doesn't send the vouchers

  • Is it auto sign up? Does not appear to have a registration

    • Pretty sure it is auto sign up. But with all ebay promos, screenshots are your friend

  • +6

Just list crap for extremely high prices. You won't sell it and have the hassle of sending it. Free voucher

    • +13

Just list crap for extremely high prices.
Yeah that's how most Ebay sellers operate

      • -2

Yeah that's how most Ebay sellers operate

eBay is my main source for a lot of items as it's usually the cheapest, so not sure where you're pulling this from, unless you're just jumping on the anti-eBay bandwagon?

        • Maybe not so cheap lately. Most of the cheap products from China seem to have disappeared. Use to buy components to fix things but becoming rare on eBay.
Eg. Went to Bunnings to get a new planar drive belt but they can only sell me a new one. Can't even find one on eBay but Alibaba has $8 for 3. Now I'm tempted… If I can't find an alternative.

          • @Popo: Yeah it obviously depends on what you're buying, for cheap Chinese items Aliexpress is my preferred choice, for everything else, eBay & Amazon.

      • Prices are already high don't think we need to deliberately list as high

  • Does it matter how much the items are that we list and whether they sell or not? Also, do we need to click somewhere to accept this offer?

  • So when would we get the $50 voucher? I still didnt get the $30 eBay Plus voucher yet………….

    • Please read the post before asking unless you can’t find your answer.

      6. Redemption. Coupons will be issued to Eligible Customers from 20th January 2025 by email.

      • So need to wait til new year lol

  • Interesting. So you don't actually have to sell the item?

I don't see anything on the main webpage, but I see the banner at the top of the sellers hub page: "List now & earn up to $50"

    • Well spotted, nowhere in the T&c's is the word "sell" mentioned. Listing and cancelling may be enough.

  • +1

Ok so I list 5 rock melons for $10 each and never sell and I’ll get a $50 voucher

    • +2

Why list for $10 if you can put $1000 each?

      • +1

If I manage to sell them for $1000 each I'll be busy planting some seeds this summer 🤣

        • +5

          List them as pre-order

  • +6

There is no "accept offer" button, how do I apply it?

  • Minimum spend $60 to get $20 off I can't think of anything I want to buy off eBay even if I get this voucher for free

  • +1

Are you sure it’s for any listing and not fashion items? The homepage ad clicks through to this landing page before the T&Cs
    https://pages.ebay.com.au/sell-preloved-fashion

    • +1

      Yes, the same T&Cs too…

  • +1

Quick tip - "Sell Similar" - Change the title - (eg, "breakable", "no refund", "don't buy" - "D- Seller") - list it x 4.

  • +2

No mention in the T&C of how long we need to keep the items active. Probably no point asking customer service as they tend to make up random BS

  • +2

I like people's way of thinking on this, not wanting things to sell and bogus items..

Would still be hard to use the vouchers after all said and done haha.

    • i find it hard to believe your average ozbargainer doesn't have 3 "bargains" they'll never use within arms reach they could genuinely sell on ebay

      • +1

Just not the same as fee free, considering the effort and time listing, then still have to find something to spend additional '$30 off $90'.

I get what you're saying but fk em. I didn't renew eBay plus this time.

  • +2

Does the offer have to be accepted or is it automatic? I see no link to accept, but the T&Cs don't say the offer is auto accepted when the page is viewed.

  • Don't have eBay plus now but assume still no fee free selling offers yet? Barely a couple per year..

  • -1

If I list an item and then sell it on Gumtree (so have to end the eBay listing early), does that count as an eligible listing?

  • Newbie question, never sold or list item on ebay. I have couple of brand new phones to sell. I am assuming if I list of ebay and manage to sell it then I pay cut to ebay from that sell price and what would that be? I do have Ebay plus if that makes difference

    • If just sell to monster mobile or one of those stores depending which phones. eBay hopeless these days no promos for selling and too many fees.

      • I will check monster mobile. This is spare brand new phone…we don't need basically

        • Could try Facebook marketplace. There's also a classifieds section on ozbargain in the forums

    • +1

Ebay takes 13.4% of the sale amount (including postage).

      • they can take another 20% for promoting your listing as well which you have to to get anything to sell.

    • I sold my old iPhone to monster mobile just last week. It took longer than I expected to receive the money, but overall the experience was great. Perhaps you can sell more if you do it on website like Gumtree, but it's easier.

      • Monster mobile only for used phones? Mine is brand new, unpacked

        • +1

          https://reebelo.com.au/sell-phone
          https://mobilemonster.com.au/

Just punch in the details and see for yourself. I got $480 for a P8 128GB which was pretty good.
Better than JB Hi-Fi trades and fk all the FB marketplace time wasters and low ballers.

          • @G-rig: They do offer good prices but I was nervous using their service after reading reviews. If it's too good to be true it probably is.

            • @0 0 0: No it's legit, but up to you. They would refurb them and sell for more.

              • @G-rig: I have Samsung a15 brand new to be sold but it's not listed on their website

  • Listings done lets see if eBay actually send a voucher!!

  • so we dont have to sold them just list? ok will try re list all
