      Nope

    • Use 45w Samsung charger with the cable which you got it with phone.

  • +1

Anyone received the gift from the Jotform first fifty registration yet?

    • no

    • No

    • It will be dispatched after today

      • source?

        • Muzeeb

          • @porleng: Thanks, didn't know he works for Samsung now

      • Seems like someone was telling porky pies.

    • last year it took 4-8 weeks.

      • Yes for some people who selected the LTE watch it took a while. I got the free base Galaxy Watch 6 about 10 days after i received my S24U on release date

        • Did you cancel a trade in or actually trade in an old phone out of curiosity? Worried that not trading in is gonna invalidate my jotform

    • +1

Has anyone actually received any e-mail confirmation about their jotform submission? I've literally heard nothing back since I submitted it

      • +1

        Nothing for this year.

But nothing for last year as well and I got the free watch

    • I thought there was no jotform? How did I miss this..

      • It was on the members app like everyone said it would be.

        • Ah ok thanks. Not having a samsung device I couldn't have taken part then. Phew

          • @Horacio: You only needed Samsung phone to get the link.

            it was also posted here

              • -1

@Horacio: If you bought from EDU/EPP, i doubt you'd be getting it anyway. I believe they checking this year and people should have got emails already if they qualified. Thats what the 2nd jotform said.

                • @8azinga: Nobody got emails last year, do you have a source for your information?

                  • @thedean: The 2nd jotform said people who qualifed would get emails. We'll just have to wait and see if they actually do check sign up and if they qualify.

                    • @8azinga: I've done both and I provided an order # from the normal AU store, no email yet.

  • I sent the trade in device which was delivered yesterday at 9:27 am according to thetracking, today asurion emailed me saying they haven't received the device yet. Wtf
Thats why I sent a 8 years old dead watch.

    • That's an automated email! They keep sending emails until it's marked as complete in their system.

    • It is automated email. They have received it, but they need to 'scan' it into their system. Probably sitting there in their inbox as they would have received thousands of phones. Just wait a few days for them to sort it out.

    • lol was that the original trade? I’m thinking of not sending my watch and losing the $1

  • Did anyone send an ineligible device and had any updates from Ausrion?

    • Yep they called me and sent me an email asking for the correct device.

Thank you for taking our call today.

To provide you with the update on your returned trade device, we've received a sealed and delivered envelope with a wireless earbud instead of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Bluetooth 44mm.

This is to prevent any late fees or reversals of any discount vouchers. Please use the attached e-label for your convenience in returning the declared device.

      Thank you!

      Regards,

      Samsung Trade Up Team

      • +1

Thanks. Wouldn't it be just the late fee (up to $60) as per the terms? I don't think they can charge the Samsung $400 discount voucher for the trade-in bonus.

      • How many times have you done this and they have to call you?

        • Previously i think i sent in my device. Never not returned it. Anyway i emailed back saying my watch was no longer available so i sent in something of equivalent value.
I originally described my watch as having a cracked screen so it was only $1 value.

          • @0 0 0: Interested to know. Did the same $1 watch but Donte may to send it in as it’s actually working. They can take the $60 or shouldn’t be $30?
What the hell they gonna do with a broke watch.

            • @ffagz: possibly spare parts for repairs, recycling bits and pieces or something else. Didn't think you could trade in something broken?

      • -1

So what will happen next? Will they return your device and charge you 60$? or more as they are saying 'reversal of discount voucher'?
I was planning to send older version of a tab than declared(tradein worth was calculated 10$ only) and cancel paypal automatic payment

      • Looks like you are the only one who got the call from asurion.

  • +1

I have received a refund from samsung now, and trade in security hold has been refunded too!

    • Have you sent back the trade?

    • Still no refund no email for trade in. Update error persist.

  • +1

    Finally bought the S25 256GB:

    Initial Price: $1119.2
    -$100 trade in bonus
-$145 trade in value of Samsung S21 128GB
    -$300 Samsung Members Code
    -$100 the purchased 20 for 100 voucher

    so 474.2

Added $106.2 worth of accessories. so price came to $480.4 after GALAXY2025.

    • +3

If you have amex, I just saw there is spend 500 get 100 back under my offer.

  • UPDATE: Ordered S25U 256GB Jetblack & S25 Pinkgold on the 26th January @ midnight. Both had Ship from 20th February which has been shipped today! Got a notification from AusPost that a labels been created.

The Buds3 Pro was not sent with them though, still has Ships From 20th Feb so I'm assuming there's a backorder on those. Still happy to be getting the phones early!

    • My order from 25th still hasn't shipped. 512 GB Ultra Jetblack. Hmmmm.

      • time to consider charging them a late fee

      • 512 gb likely sold more as 256GB wasnt available on normal site so longer wait times for those.

    • Same for me but midday 26th and also had my order shipped today. But I also had my watch ship at the same time.

    • Yeah i got my phone today along woth screen protector and case, but no buds

  • I ordered on 23rd Jan, cancelled buds the same day. Phone delivered on 6th Feb. No refund yet. Order status still showing "UpdateError" under tradin. However I have got return email from Asurion. Do I need to contact customer service or just wait?

  • -1

Just received my S25 Ultra Jet Black 256gb today with magnetic case, clear film and buds pro 3.

Still deciding whether or not to keep the buds.

The magnet case seems thin and doesnt actually come with a magnet lol.

Question - If i dont return my $10 trade in, will it just be a $60 fee or will I also lose my trade in bonuses???

Edit: I have searched some terms and conditions online and it says nothing about clawing back any discounts or bonuses - from the Samsung website:

"In-eligible Device Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the estimated reduction You received when Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device Online (excluding any additional trade-in bonuses offered) in accordance with clause 5.2(a) of these Terms and Conditions. "

  • +1

They stopped eco-voucher and trade-in bonus voucher from being stackable, probably the norm going forward since many were cancelling the accessories!

    • Its just a different deal after presales. Will probably come back for S26 presale.

  • Hi fellow OzBargainers,

I need some advice regarding my trade-in.

Asurion offered me $405 for my S23+ trade-in, but I haven’t sent the phone yet. I checked Mobile Monster and Mobile Guru, and they’re offering $610 for the same phone. Mine is about 1.5 years old and in excellent condition—no scratches or damage.

Would it be possible to sell to one of these stores instead of sending it to Asurion? I know Asurion will charge a $60 non-return fee, but I’d still make a $145 profit by selling to Mobile Monster. Is this a good move, and could Asurion block my IMEI since I provided it to them?

    Thanks in advance!

    • +2

They don’t block it but the IMEI isn’t allowed to be used again for an asurion tradein

    • +2

Asurion technically doesn't "own" the phone, so they can't request for a IMEI block on it.
It's like buying a House, you sign a contract to hand it over with a bunch of clauses (e.g. price, settlement date, penalties)…. you DON'T have to hand over the house, if you are willing to pay the penalties.

Asurion technically doesn't own the phone until the "contract" is complete. Therefore won't have any of the necessary proof to block the IMEI.

      • +1

Correct …I have used the same IMEI for the s24 and s25.

  • Thank you @UosdwisRDewoh and @lplau for the confirmation.

Has anyone sold their phone through Mobile Monster or Mobile Guru? I would like to hear your experience! Are they reliable, and is it worth going through them for the extra $145, or would it be better to send the phone to Asurion?

    Thank You!

    • +1

Used MM. Definitely legit and reliable.

    • I used MM and got $450 for my S22+ instead of the $280 from Samsung.

    • +1

I just sold my S24 Ultra to Mobile Guru for $920. One small hiccup - when they received it, they sent me an offer for $890 as the phone had 'superficial scratches'. The phone had one very minor, very small scratch on the side metal frame so I didn't select the 'as new condition' *($950) and selected the next condition down which allowed superficial scratches. I called to challenge them on it, said I had photos and that if they were going to offer $890, then I wanted photos of the scratches. They said they'd re-assess it.

Next day, I receive an update that I'd be getting the $920 and got payment a day later. Pretty happy in the end.

      • Do you think they can tell if the phone has had a genuine screen replacement?

  • +1

I sold with both MM and MG numerous times. Have done in person drop off each time.

Personally prefer MG as much fast payment and the quote is always higher than MM.

  • -1

Does anybody have experience with Asurion's $60 charge if paid via PayPal?

I believe they only took the trade amount as a security deposit, will PayPal allow them to take any more?

Somewhat counter-intuitively, I actually do want them to get their $60 if I trade my device elsewhere for a higher value - I'd rather play by the rules if there's a risk of getting banned by Asurion for not paying, want to get into yearly upgrades considering how good these deals can be.

    • -2

It's hard to stop Asurion from charging $60 via PayPal as it's in their T&C when you placed the order.

Had similar case about pre-authenrication and started dispute however PayPal didn't back my claim.

The only way to avoid the $60 for this case is to cancel all your cards linked with PayPal (or even close your credit card) however it may trigger default to your credit profile I guess.

  • Sent different device for $1 trade in. Trade in status says 'GRADED' and final assessment completed yesterday but nothing since.
Grading notes: 'Device cannot be erased. Device is a different model than declared'.
Original condition: None good working order
Final condition: None good working order.
    Not sure what happens next

    • as the comment above, they will call you to send back the declared devices otherwise they will take the security deposit and the $60

      • What's the point of the ineligible device clause then?

      • Not written in their policy to charge $60 for ineligible device though, its only the security charge which is trade in value.

        • -1

Actually it's written in the terms and conditions of the trade-in which you click 'accept' to as you proceed through checkout.

          • @thedean: But not the t&cs of the offer they provide, it's all pretty weird.

            • +1

@mac2403: Are we sure it's only $60? Someone had this email today from Ausrion saying discount voucher to be reversed.

              Samsung Trade Up Team

              • @atom1319: Yeah I highly doubt that but let's see what happens

  • With the trade-in - do they need to receive the product within 14 days or we need to post within 14 days to be not hit with the late fee?

    • +1

I haven't even heard from Asurion at this point; no emails or updates about returning the phone I used for trade in!

    • +1

      post within 14 days

Do i need to notify asurion if i wont send my phone back to them?

    • -2

      Send this letter to them:

      Dear Asurion Trade-In Services Team,

I hope this correspondence finds you in the most excellent of spirits. I am writing to you today regarding a matter that has been occupying my thoughts considerably over the past few days, and I feel compelled to seek clarification on a rather specific aspect of your trade-in procedures, particularly as they pertain to Samsung devices.

After much careful consideration and deliberation, weighing various factors and circumstances that have presented themselves in recent times, I have arrived at the conclusion that I will not be proceeding with the trade-in process that was initially contemplated. I trust you understand that such decisions, while sometimes difficult, must be made with due consideration to one's personal circumstances and requirements.

I find myself in the rather peculiar position of wondering whether there exists any formal obligation or requirement on my part to notify your esteemed organization of my decision not to proceed with the trade-in. As a conscientious individual who values clear communication and proper business etiquette, I believe it is of utmost importance to maintain transparent and professional relationships with service providers such as yourselves.

Your trade-in program, which I understand is designed to provide customers with a seamless and efficient experience when upgrading their devices, has undoubtedly served many customers well. However, due to circumstances that have evolved since my initial consideration of the trade-in option, I find myself needing to retain my current device.

I would be most grateful if you could illuminate me on the proper protocol in such situations. Is there perhaps a formal notification process that I should follow? Or perhaps a specific department I should contact? Or, indeed, is no action required on my part whatsoever?

I eagerly await your response and guidance on this matter, as I wish to ensure that I handle this situation in accordance with your established procedures and preferences.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response at your earliest convenience.

      Best regards,
      slapsoil

P.S. Should you require any additional information or clarification regarding my situation, please do not hesitate to reach out. I remain at your disposal to provide any supplementary details that might be necessary to process this inquiry effectively.

        • Sorry if I am missing something. It is mentioned in my tradeup that tradeid expires on 4th March 2025. If i keep quiet, theTradeID will expire automatically and the tradeup is cancelled and i dont have to worry about it afterwards. Am I missing something ?

          • +1

@Emenent7426: It expires automatically if you haven't used it

            • @CodeXD: does it expire on the same date even after using it ? thats my understanding, it should expire if i dont return the tradein phone by 4th march 2025?

                • @CodeXD: Someone should make an FAQ for these.
Same questions every year, and in all the current Samsung posts.

                • @CodeXD: i am happy to pay late fee and close it off. i still haven't opened mine just in case something bad happens to the tradein commitment. i got jet black titanium 512 and wanted to trade in pixel 9 pro xl but hearing the reviews and feedback. Decided against sending it and now its sold. Coming from NZ this is my first tradein.I have done twice with Assurant NZ without any issues.

                  • -1

@Emenent7426: It'll be fine. They'll charge you $60 and that's where it will close.

      • -1

You should learn to be clear and succinct in communication. Get to the point.

Be exact, precise, explicit, detailed and clear.

Avoid being vague, verbose and ambiguous.

        • But that's exactly what I was trying to do!

Make it extremely long and drawn out

Can't believe you thought it was a real letter. I was just trolling the guy, with AI mind you

          Relax eh

Hey experts, i have received my s25 ultra last week.
I am not going to send my old phone to asurion that i have used for trade in valued at $10……the credit card that i used has been lost unfortunately and bank is sending me a new card.
Just wondering what will happen in this situation, what will asurion do for charging the late fee.

    • Same here and will be crusing from tomorrow where no internet and mobile network

  • -1

How come when i ordered a black 256gb ultra for 2 of my friends they sent them both a 512gb but my jetblack will be shipped on the 20th after ordering on the 25th and i think they will send a 256gb since thats what someone else received who ordered on the same day as me? And my friends got a free clear case for the buds pro 3 but that's not included in my invoice :(

  • 512gb jet black dispatch date extended out by another week lol

Won't get an exclusive colour next time

    • -1

I received the 256GB Jetblack one on 06/02, I placed the order on 23/01 before 6pm.

  • Hi all, I returned the sealed S25 phone and accessories to Samsung last Thursday arvo and Samsung received it on Friday morning.

Based on people's experience, how long does it typically take to receive the refund? Additionally, do I need to inform Asurion that I have returned the phone and canceled the trade-in, or will that be automatically canceled when Samsung refunds me?

    A bit of background.
I received two separate labels as I initially tried to cancel the accessories first, but then changed my mind and returned everything using one shipping label. I received a notification from Australia Post that the package has been returned to Samsung although, the order status indicates "return label printed" for the accessories and "return initiated" for the phone (for some reason, the Australia Post email label came late, early this morning). Called Samsung customer service and they said to disregard the email and wait.

    • +1

All i can say is good luck! Many have not had great experiences in the past

    • Only a few business days once they start the process on their end, so add a few more days for delivery i guess

  • haven't got email from Asurion re: return of trade in device.

what are you doing if you are in the same situation? wait or send the device going thru their portal?
