              • @snorkey: I did and still waiting to hear from them..

            • @pyramid: What do you mean? Do you reckon I need to contact them to cancel the return?

              • @tm8ate: I tried they refused….

                • @pyramid: I assume their return process is similar to other companies, where once they approve your return request, they provide a set timeframe for you to send the item back. If the item isn’t returned within that period, the return request is automatically canceled.

  • My delivery was due for today but it has now moved to the 10th. For the people that have received their phone and earbuds, were you able to return the earbuds and get the full refund for the cost?

      Boy or Girl?

      Congratulations 🎊

  • -6

Phone arrived today, However not planning to send my phone back to ausion for the tradein.
Whats the best steps to take here regarding contacting them to say 'its not coming back'

    • what gives the impression they don't have the right?

it's clearly written in the samsung trade-in online page when choosing the trade in option….

"Samsung Trade-In Online: You must send in your trade-in device within seven (7) days of receiving your New Samsung Device. A refund of the Security Charge will be processed within twenty-one (21) days following receipt of your trade-in device and the successful completion of Asurion’s assessment process. If Asurion determines that a Mis-Grading Device Fee applies, you will be given the option to either accept the Mis-Grading Device Fee or have your device returned. A Late Return Fee of up to $60 will be charged if you have not sent in your trade-in device within fourteen (14) days of receiving your New Samsung Device. The Security Charge, Late Return Fee and any other applicable fees relating to Samsung Trade-In will be processed by our third-party provider, Asurion."

      • -3

What gives the impression they have the right?

First, you are not bounded by what's written on the website but the terms and conditions. Second, if there are any discrepancies between what's on the website and terms and conditions, it's the terms and conditions that should be followed. Remember, when you checkout, there was something saying that you agree to the terms and conditions but it did not state that you agree to something written in another samsung webpage. And what you quote include "up to $60", it doesn't mean automatically it is $60, the contracting parties should then refer to the terms and conditions to see whether the conditions are met for the late return fee to be charged.

        • Interesting

since you seem to be so sure, you hopefully got the exact t&c's before you agreed to go ahead with the online trade-in t&c's and aren't referring to the in-store trade-in t&c's.

does it differ from https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/term… ?

usually ozb's try to do very low device value like $1-$10 if they don't intend to send the device so that non-return fee (also referred to as late return fee in some emails) is $30.

          • -3

@snorkey: I read that some people suggested picking the lowest value device, this year it is $10 and last year was $5. That's because the lower this trade-in amount, the higher the 5% app discount will be. And some people even trade-in non-exist device with IMEI generator.

            • +1

@vchung916: kinda easy to lower the value of any device at the stage where they ask about the device condition if one wants to forcefully reduce it.

    • +4

For $60 you want to initiate class action? How about samsung changes it from next to say they will charge back trade in bonus?

      • +5

Yea its quite funny how people lawyer up when they feel like they arent getting the better deal…

If companies had the same mentality then would be funny seeing them recovering all the trade in bonuses for people who didnt send it in….

Anybody who isnt planning to send in a device for trade in should have factored in a potential admin fee for Asuran. And if you cant afford that then maybe you should have considered not buying the new phone.

Lol i remeber reading a article of a guy going bankrupt on the sole principle of being right and taking out loans to pump into his law suit….

      • +11

That's exactly where this will go, honestly people just need to stop. Half these deals are because of loop holes (accessories discount coming off phone, trade-in bonus not requiring an actual trade-in).
What is wrong with people honestly, loop holes exist because they require more effort to close than impact they have on the business.

Now people who are using them are talking about class actions? wtf is wrong with OzBargin community. BE GLAD the loophole wasn't closed years ago and stfu.

        • +2

          Greed has no limit

          • +2

            @U30004: Indeed you are correct.
Honestly it shows how small of a community OzB is that Samsung has ignored this for as long as they have. I guess based on half these comments we are counting down the days on trade-in bonus without a valid trade in.

As a software dev, it really only needs a few more API calls and a couple T&C changes to hold the trade-in bonus on the card as well as the device fee to avoid people taking advantage. If people start contacting lawyers it will be cheaper to spend the development time on that than deal with this again.

        • +3

I can just imagine how sad their little lives are.

        • +1

love how @vchung916 stopped replying to this thread lol. Dude you need to stop being greedy, buying a ~$2k phone for > 50% off on launch day is already good enough. If you are so strong on the T&Cs and being "right", you should pay the full price and dont go through loop holes. You are contradicting yourself. Nobody is forcing you to buy this phone and you dont have to buy it through this way.

          • -3

@tenoclockfindu: Are you waiting for my reply? Thanks for your patience.
I think there might be some confusion about what's contradicting. I'm highlighting that according to the T&Cs, there should be no late return fee for non-return, which aligns perfectly with the spirit of getting a good deal. I'm advocating for paying less, not more. Suggesting that I should pay full price, as you've done, seems at odds with the idea of seeking out bargains.
Of course, no one is forcing anyone to purchase. I choose to buy through this method because it represents a price I'm willing to pay, not the full retail price. It's about making an informed choice based on the terms provided, not exploiting loopholes but rather understanding and using them as they're written.

            • +2

@vchung916: Then you might be missing the part in the terms and conditions where it mentions that bonus' connected to 'trade-ins' will be invalid if no trade-in is sent in. Something which they've not enforced, so you might need to read a little closer.

It's a loop hole, be happy for it and stop complaining.

              • -3

@thedean: There is no such clause in the terms and conditions. The phrase "trade-in bonuses" only appears in Clause 14. Definitions.

                • +2

@vchung916: @vchung916 the whole deal is literally about trading in a device in order to get the bonus lol

  • Can someone share thoughts on how they are initiating the returns ? Is it from "Orders" page or somewhere else ? On "Orders" page I see status as "Delivered" for mobile, watch and case. But don't see option to initate return. Not even for phone or for whole order return as well.

Can Samsung force customer not to return the order and change website UI like this for some customers where as it works for others ?

    I am using this url : https://shop.samsung.com/au/multistore/auepp/samsung_perks_a…

    • -1

There is no point trying as your return request will be denied.

      • -4

How come. I ordered the watch thinking it's a good deal for 7 series and I wanted to keep it. But later on came to know about all the battery draining issues on specific model. The product is promoted which is not working well. Why can't one return it.

        • well you should be able to return it by itself if it's not part of a bundled order where GALAXY2025 was used. Else, they are requesting for the whole bundle to be returned.

        • +3

          Working well is subjective though.
And how can you known its not working well when you havent used it.

The problem with the internet is people get their motivation to post something when it is negative. So you often find more negative than positive.

7.1Samsung offers a change of mind policy if you purchase an Eligible Mobile Product from the Platform. For the purpose of these Terms, “Eligible Mobile Product” means a Samsung smartphone, tablet, wearable device or accessory related to such a device, that you purchase from the relevant Platform. The change of mind policy is not available for any TV & AV products (including TVs, soundbars and monitors), home appliances (including washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, microwaves and air purifiers), computing products (including monitors and SSDs) or any other Product that is not an Eligible Mobile Product. If you wish to exercise the change of mind policy, you may cancel the Contract and request a refund or exchange, provided that the following requirements are met:

7.2If you wish to exercise the change of mind policy, you may cancel the Contract and request a refund or exchange, provided that the following requirements are met:

      7.2.1 the relevant Product that you are seeking to return is an Eligible Mobile Product;

      7.2.2 your claim is made within 14 days of delivery;

      7.2.3 you contact the Samsung Customer Care Team on 1300 362 603 or visit the order self service section of the My Orders page here to lodge your request for a 'Change of Mind' return;

      7.2.4 you make the Eligible Mobile Product available for collection and inspection by a Samsung Authorised Agent;

      7.2.5 the Eligible Mobile Product is unused;

      7.2.6 the Eligible Mobile Product's packaging is un-opened and the packaging seal is intact;

7.2.7 the Eligible Mobile Product's packaging is not damaged; and

7.2.8 the Eligible Mobile Product is in re-sellable condition.

7.3In the event you change your mind and the Eligible Mobile Product packaging has been damaged, unsealed, unboxed and/or the Eligible Mobile Product has been used, or the requirements in clause 7.2 are not otherwise met, Samsung is unable to offer a remedy under clause 7.4, so please choose carefully when selecting your Eligible Mobile Product, and when deciding to open packaging following delivery.

7.4If you meet the requirements of clause 7.2 you can request a full refund of the price paid for the Eligible Mobile Product or an exchange. Exchanges may be provided in a different colour of the same model. Refunds can only be made to the original payment method that you used.

Excellent. My item is unopened, unused and has product issue.

        7.2.3 you contact the Samsung Customer Care Team on 1300 362 603 or visit the order self service section of the My Orders page here to lodge your request for a 'Change of Mind' return;

For me & many others, that self service section doesn't show option to initiate the return.

        • How can you know it has a product issue if you haven't even opened or used it?
Was bought as a bundle so based on comments of people who got responses, you'll either have to send it back as a bundle with phone or they can deduct the galaxy2025 code from refund.

  • +2

I just check EPP quota is now limited to 3 devices in every category. It was more before.

  • +2

Is anyone noticing any unusual battery depletion in the base S25 models since released? I did Smart Switch, and I'm noticing it seems to be depleting quicker than my s23- I may be overthinking it, but perhaps its early days with it learning battery usage?

    • +3

It happens for first 24-48hrs. Should be normalised soon.

  • +1

S25U 512gb jade green delivered today, ordered 24/01. It was sitting on "awaiting dispatch, get it by 10 Feb" for some time until finally it changed to on the way on 05/02.

Happy that I went with just the phone especially hearing some are having trouble returning the accessories. Got it for $802 with S22U trade in.

  • -3

Does anyone know if I send asurion an old phone I've got rather than the iPhone 13 I had said originally I will avoid the $60 charge? (But lose the $300 security deposit)

  • Jetblack 256gb ordered at 12pm on 24th is now on the way! As of 11:40 aest

    • For a delivery on the weekend? What state you in? My was pushed from 6th to 7th to now 10th

      • Mine is in transit too but I don’t think it will be delivered on the weekend. Most likely on Monday.

    • Lucky you.
S25U Jetblack 256gb ordered around 5pm on 24th changed from "Ships from 13 Feb 2025" to "Get it by 17 Feb 2025"

    • received boths phone today at 11am AEST (both ordered on 24 Jan). Jetblack is beautiful.

  • The refund of Watch FE has hit my account. Thank you Samsung for the great deal 😀

  • anyone got buds3? non pro. thinking still should I sell or try them. are they any good?

    • heh I asked the same thing. I am wondering about it… mainly just for audiobooks and calls - the reviews I read said for calls they are not that great but be nice to get some opinions from ozb.

      • yeah let's see if someone responds. I have buds FE and sounds (no pun intended) like they are a better fare overall.

        • Yeah I read the FE are good for calls etc

      • A few comments on previous pages suggest these are pretty good for music and ANC, as well as fit perfectly. I am keeping mine definitely

        • +1

Not that many open ear buds have ANC at all.

    • +1

I checked reviews before I placed the order. Biggest difference was that Buds 3 pro have the tips making it easier for the earbuds to stay in your ear.

I still use my buds2 for the gym and they sometimes do fall out so i opted for the tips as an upgrade

  • Only 1day, my clear case already got 3 scratches…
I only put my phone in pants pocket…

    • +1

Get this one. I have been using these for all my phones and was never disappointed

      https://amzn.asia/d/8WoZfnD

      • Following up to say thanks for the tip.

Still waiting for my Samsung Grip Case from JB to arrive and got sick of going caseless. Bought this and its great. Beats paying $60+ for similar name brand cases.

  • Do I need to be home to sign for the phone from StarTrack or whomever? Can a family member sign on my behalf or they need my ID?

    • Anyone at the house can sign

  • For those claiming TRS, do I need to request a specific invoice from Samsung, or will the one they initially provided be sufficient? Also, at the TRS office, do I need to present the item, and does it have to be sealed or in its original packaging? I haven't claimed TRS in a while, so just want to clarify. Thanks!

    • +3

Don't think it needs to be in original packaging

      • thanks!

    • +2

You need to be able to show the item. If the invoice $$$ is over $1000 then it must have your passport name on it. So if you have first middle and last name then receipt needs all of it.

      • thanks! name on invoice matches my passport, so i assume i can just show the tax invoice from samsung since it shows the ABN, GST, etc?

        • +1

This is sufficient. It's a simple process but make sure you prepare enough time in case it has a queue for claiming TRS.

        • +1

You will need to install Australia TRS app in which you will insert details of claim related to invoice and it will then generate QR code which they will scan at the counter while claiming at airport.

      • What if you also made a return (the buds). I assume you would make the claim on the phone alone and not the total invoice? Am I correct?

        • EDIT: ignore, I noticed I received a new tax invoice, without the buds. Cool.

    • Be aware if you bring it back into Aus, you may have to pay the TRS back!

      • You only have to declare it as duty free. Depending on what you paid during pre-sale, it may or may not fall under your individual allowance of $900.

      • What will happen if i dont declare on the way back, then pass the security check …

        • +5

          Straight to jail

          • +4

@CodeXD: Straight on border security show 😅

            • @abs898: must watch that episode

            • @abs898: nah they prolly more intersted in the fruits you bring back.

              • @ffagz: I thought they would be more interested in my fake designer bags from Bali

                • @abs898: Nah mate, I watch Border Security all the time - its a hoot. Most (80%+) of the people they stop are for food/seeds/etc etc. And a couple of episodes on someone brining in loads of Ciggys. That said, if you bring back an item over the duty free limit and they catch you - well GAME OVER….

        • when you come back… it is "used phone". not new anymore.

    • claimed TRS no issues for my S25U with Samsung invoice

pre entered everything on their site, there was a tiny queue at melbs AP, took 1 minute to get all done. claimed the phone and the case (buds were already sold).

needed passport, boarding pass, phone itself (they took 1 look at it) and printed invoice, that's it

      • did u have to bring the box with u at the airport?

        • nope no boxes

  • Has anyone had success delaying the scheduled delivery? The delivery date and trade in due date are going to be a bit of a headache, and ideally I'd get Samsung to hold dispatch of the order for another 10 days.

Chat support couldn't do it, and Asurion wasn't helpful extending the trade in due date either (to avoid the late fee).

    • +1

You can avoid / miss the delivery and it will then be taken to a nearby Australia Post Office, and you will then have 10 days to collect the package from them. It won’t be marked delivered until you collect it.

      • Ahhh ok, that's good to know. So the 14 days for sending in the trade-in, starts when the delivery is received - not on the dispatch?

  • Received items on 7th Feb but the order status on Samsung web is still showing 'On the way' as of today 9th. So I haven't received the refund for the cancelled Buds (paid with Afterpay) nor Aurison email yet.
I've just noticed that the tracking number shown on Samsung web order status (#…18) doesn't match StarTrack's (#…19). Hence when I pressed on Track Item button, Samsung shows only "5 Feb shipping info received by Australia Post". Is this normal?
I'm afraid that Samsung status might be stuck at 'On the way' forever due to this different tracking number.

  • I’ve been seeing reports online about the Samsung S25 overheating, and I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced or is currently experiencing this issue. If so, how severe is it, and have you found any fixes or workarounds?

    • All good here…great phone so far

    • +1

only overheating when setting up…first couple of hrs

  • -5

How do I avoid late fees from Asurion?
Im not planning to send any phones.
Or can I send different phone from what I have put as a trade in?

  • What packaging is everyone sending their original trade in phone with?

    • According to the email instructions you show AustPost the email and they generate the label. So Im assuming you provide a box big enough for the label or do they supply that as well?

      • +1

Na….you take phone to auspost…they pack it.

  • -2

I traded in galaxy watch 5 pro but sending them a dead fossil. Should be fine for $1.

    • you might as well send them nothing

      • No, device not return fees and ineligible device fees are different.

        • It's $30 for no trade in or ineligible at $1 trade in value

          • +1

@abs898: 'In-eligible Device Fee means a fee which is up to an amount equivalent to the value of Your unique Trade
ID (excluding any additional bonuses offered).
Late Return Fee means a fee of up to $50 which may be charged by Asurion if You fail to post Your Existing
Device to Us within fourteen (14) days after the date on which You present Your Trade ID in Store. This
            fee is non-refundable.'

            • @Mregmi: Yeah so your unique trade in value is $1

              • @abs898: And $30 or $50 for not sending or delaying?
