  • I was thinking about replacing my QC45s with these, but I've decided to hold off. I just updated the firmware on my QC45s to version 4.0.4, and now they have:

    • Outdoor mode with Wind Block
    • The ability to turn Multi-Point connection on or off
    • It also seems to have improved the crackling/stuttering issue with Multi-Point connections
    • wow so the QC we bought here already has those features?

      • Yeah, it should already be there. You can check through the Bose app.

  • Thanks OP.

    Ordered for in store pickup.

$178.20 is a great price - finally got some headphones!

  • +5

On the Bose eq set bass, mid and treble to +5, thank me later

    • And if you wanna go crazy set them all to +10 :-)

    • Nice, thanks!

    • I was quite underwhelmed coming from a pair of really good Plantronics headphones. This EQ tweak has made it considerably better than default flat it came with, thanks.

  • finally upgrading my qc25s with disintegrating pleather. thanks op

  • I wonder if the SC fits into the old QC25 hard case. Has anyone tried?

    • Yes it fits.

  • Do they dull out cicadas?

    • They work best with continuous and repetitive noise, which is why they're perfect for planes, and I imagine would be great for cicadas too.

After reading all the reviews, finally pull the trigger as I need it for work-related purposes lol

    • +2

You just need one excuse that’s all good mate. We are all here.

  • +1

pulled the trigger… can't resist the price
    let me regret later

Picked up mine this noon. This is my first pair of over ears. The sound quality worths this price. It is a little heavy after 2hrs. Good noice cancellation. Easy configuration using Bose app which I already have for my 600 sound bar (yes I paid $579 and I missed the midnight sale for $16x and I regret not getting the 900 at some similar price when there was better and later deal). However I’m 100% happy.

  • i've had my QC35 II for over 7 years,
The faux leather ear muffs, you have to replace every 2-3 years, the top head band faux leather also need to be replaced after 5 years. Apart from that, the battery is still excellent and it even did a firmware update, but somehow that stopped the Bose connect app from turning on/off Noise cancelling function.

  • been wanting this for years got it now thanks op!!

  • 569 last vote, last minute pair using left over gift cards 😂

  • What a deal. Thank you for posting OP.

  • Still rocking my QC35s from 2016. Just replaced the ear pads and good as new!

    • +1

same - and replaced ear pads last week as well. Looking at doing the headband pad soon.

  • +2

Oh no! Come back good deal.. I missed you! 😭

    • Lots on Facebook gumtree ebay next week

      • Will be sold for extra $100 more…

        • +2

Use the ozbargain prime code and they'll bring it down to this deal's price

        • yeah first everyone asked for 100 more but after a week will be just 50 more. still decent. if someone is lazy on checking ozb then they probably dont mind paying 50 more haha

          • @McMaferMur: LOL not worth selling for only $50 profit, might as well keep it myself.

I recently used these on some flights and they are awesome.

I saw someone in this thread asking about a plane adapter to use these with in-flight entertainment. To me, that is a waste of time, especially if you have to pay for the entertainment like on jetstar.

I will share my personal approach to this; buy one of these for <$5 and then use your phone as an entertainment device: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006766701789.html

With youtube premium, you can download videos offline.

So despite being in economy, I feel like I significantly upgraded my experience by having noise cancelling earphones, my phone mounted to the seat in front of me so I don't need to hold it for hours, and watching recent youtube videos (almost like what I'd be doing if I wasn't on a plane). Then recline seat to close to maximum to distribute weight away from your lower back, for extra comfort.

Also with wired earphones, you need to take them off during takeof/landing, but you are allowed to keep these wireless headphones on at all times.

    • is there similar holder for wide screen phone like zfold or even 7" tablet?

    • +5

Why would you wait? The expiry date was clearly listed on both JB website and here

      • +2

he waited for price to drop further hehe

Because returning them due a change of mind, or poor fit, or disliked sound signature isn't easy.
Professional reviews suggest plenty of reasons why these aren't the best headphones.
The question is for ~$200 do they suit your requirements - excessive sub-bass, narrow spatial, lack of support for HD codecs, no waterproofing, issues with multiconnect, middling battery life, and iffy fit are among the leading reasons why these may not be premium headphones despite their RRP.
Selling point seems to be the noise-cancelling and comfort for prolonged wear - the latter somewhat dependent on having a small-ish head.

I am in the same boat as Alejandro - I saw the deal late last night, too tired to make a decision.
As much as I would love a pair of premium headphones, and these fall (fell) into my price range, I can't afford to hastily gamble my budget on a pair that might not really meet my needs.

        • a small-ish head. thats me !

I can't afford to hastily gamble my budget
get from bose 90 days full refund

          • @McMaferMur: Me too, so that was a plus.
Problem with direct from Bose is having to pay $500 first then negotiate a price match and partial refund.

            • @sam buster: nope you just need to be persistent asking for please create order and send me adyen payment link.
worst case just disconnect try different agent.
i paid the can plus adapter for $203.xx lol dont know how the agent did that i didnt bother to complain.

        • Because returning them due a change of mind, or poor fit, or disliked sound signature isn't easy.

The easy way is to buy first for C+C and when you go to pick it up, test it in store, and have a play around with one. See how you like it.

If you leave it sealed unopen while you research and don't like it, then JB has a really easy return policy as long as it meets their change of mind conditions.

Returned Product Status Policy Time Limit
Unused & Unopened, packaging in good condition (product not faulty) - eg change of mind. 100% Refund 30 Days

@CodeXD: play in store with demo unit? sometimes the clamp will be different after gosh how many heads and kids pulling them apart.
plus maybe some defect or what not

          • @CodeXD: Wasn't sure they would have them available to test.
            Thanks for the tip.

          • +1

@CodeXD: Did this, liked them kept them.

  • +2

These make a world of difference for when you're flying. I'm glad I finally get to upgrade my QC25's. Though I'll still be holding onto them as they're a good backup.

    • yeah i got a pair for my wife to replace her QC25s too. I got those for her in 2016 and they still work perfectly well, just needing to replace the earpads a couple of times but other than that, still good !

  • Does anyone have a pdf of the jb page? I would like to try and still get a PM with Bose as i have the amex promo too

Been using this for the last 2 days.

I have it connected via bluetooth to my phone and laptop at the same time. When I'm watching something on my laptop or phone and stop/pause it, I can hear a crackling noise straight afterwards.

    Anyone have the same issue?

EDIT: this seems to help it a bit - will see how it goes

blow into the microphone holes on each side (the pairs of 12 little holes on the outside of the cups).

    • (profanity), why would you mention this now its all i can focus on when I had never noticed it ever.

  • too bad we cant customise action button press (not hold)

  • Anyone can point-out to a good non-official Bose hard-case to go with these? Something to pickup from a store?

    JBhifi didn’t have any.

    Thanks in advance

  • -5

And some people got Ultra for an extra $20 today but nevertheless great deal this was.

  • Cheers OP got two of these one for me and one for the old man. Great deal thanks.

  • Anyone here using these finds that they keep disconnecting at random times?

    • If its common you will see hundred posts here before you.
Dont think just send back full refund.

  • Damn I missed this deal. Back to over $450 at Jb Hi Fi and Costco. Hope I dont have to wait ling for them to go on sale again. Need a pair for next month.

    • Plenty on ebay.
