      • Im gladly give them $1 more

      • +1

Yes but Amex will not accept if the order is manually placed via chat and not from Bose online

        • Then return it after 80 days

    • Thanks for sharing this price match info. I bought a pair 8 days ago on the Bose site and it took a bit of convincing the cso and in the end they agreed to price match!!

  • Got a pair. Great price for $178 c&c… Looking forward to picking them up tomorrow.

  • +5

Commbank $10 cashback off $100 also.

    • How does this work?

      • check your Yello offers, if you have got this offer, i believe it's targetted

        • Thanks, didn't get it

    • This or discounted GCs..

    • DAMN i missed this comment

    • Also 28 degrees latitude has a (targeted) $10 off $100 spend

  • -1

    How to add the perks??

    • Do you mean how to apply the coupon code?
Try using the generic code mentioned in this thread, they can be applied when you add product to the cart. If you are looking to sign up for perks, it can be done here or here

      • Ye thanks I received the coupons few minutes late in my email but I'm wondering what's the original price

      • Yes and thank you

  • Order ready for collection. Placed 5 minutes ago.

  • tempted, but already got the Bose QuietComfort 45 SE for $164.00

  • Thanks mate got a pair to replace my wife's QC25s that are only wired, which will go well considering i just got her a phone without a 3.5 jack heh

  • +1

Still very happy with my current Bowers & Wilkins P7 headphones, but this price is too good again (similar to that sub $200 QC45 SE deal) so placed an order for my business use. Now let's see if JB Hifi can fulfill all these orders from OzBargain members :-)

    • Just received mine this morning. Gave it a brief comparison with my B&W PX7, the PX7 with its excellent instrument separation gives me the more immerse experience of like sitting in front of a live performance. QC is still good but the vocal and musical instruments are more mixed together, so I prefer the sound character of the PX7.

  • Just lost my Sony XM3.. good timing

  • what is the difference between the Bose QuietComfort SC Headphones and Bose QuietComfort 45 SE? I bought the 45 SE for my wife in the $164 deal but she complains of battery life. Is this SC a newer version?

    • Newer version, virtually exactly the same (says they have 2hrs more battery life I believe, but real world isn't this significant). Everything else is identical (Bluetooth, app, etc).

  • +8

Damn it. I don’t know why I bought it.

    • +3

      Same, bought first think later

      • Been trying to come up with reasons to convince myself that I need this….

    • +2

      FOMO… got me too haha

  • Bargain, thanks OP.

  • +2

This should have been the Black Friday deal, trying to get the price match from Bose themselves

edit: Bose is refunding me the difference

    • So bose price matched $178.20?

      • They did for me, even though the price protection is technically only 7 days. Otherwise would just return up to 90 days and refund anyway, i guess.

        • @rhimes to the same payment method?

          • @CyberMurning: yeah, they didn't ask for any new details

            • @rhimes: ok then forget about stacking with amex - or just do it and hoping for the best nothing to loose anyway.
oh but losing the 10% jb offer if buying from bose
              178 jbhifi or
198 bose (with possible 158 if lucky)

        • Did 198 or 178 ?
And you had to spend $499.95 first I guess

  • +4

I got a pair too! Was going to pull the trigger on the $300 something grey market Sony xm5’s deal recently, but the ozbargainer in me knew something was coming… and here it is :)

  • Just need a sale on the Bose Carry Case now, does anyone have any recommendations on a case?

  • For those with an Amex card, you can get Bose to price match and then get the Amex cashback

    $499 - $40. Then a refund of $301.

    = $158 all up

    • +1

Normally refund will void your cashback.

      • we need to check how they process the refund

    These or the ultra?

  • I have the Bose QC45 and new Apple Air Pod Pro 2s. I haven't tried the QC45 outside but when I wear my Air Pods the wind noise is so god damn loud!!! I don't understand this noise cancellation technology, under what situations does it actually work? Traffic noise is also a problem with them and I've tried all the settings. I have a pair of $100 bluetooth in ear headphones that do a better job keeping external noise out without even having noise cancellation on.

I prefer the sound of the Air Pods over the Bose headphones, it's purely personal preference though. I just wish I could go to a vendor and wear 100 different set of headphones to decide which ones I like best. This has been a life long issue for me lol

    What's everyone else's opinions?

    • they mostly cancel out engine noise when you're sitting in a car or a plane. a plane is the best use case.

    • new Apple Air Pod Pro 2s?

      Are you sure they're genuine?

      • Purchased from JB HiFi so yes very genuine.

    • I have both and for me the APP2 has better sound AND, in my experience, better noise cancellation… The QCs were more subtle and probably more comfortable for a longer time.

      • Do you wear them outdoors? Trying riding a push bike with noise cancellation it does absolutely nothing, makes the wind even worse. Even for my evening walks it's terrible. I've use my cheaper in ear ones now when going for walks because it does a better job at filtering out outside noise with no noise cancellation enabled.

AAP2 sounds better than QCs I agree.

'I just wish I could go to a vendor and wear 100 different set of headphones to decide which ones I like best. This has been a life long issue for me lol'

Years ago I went to Yodabashi West Shinjuku Tokyo - https://maps.app.goo.gl/mkkL69EyNCrcfYPw6

5th floor North building had like 1000 headphones all plugged in ready to listen to, and I just used the same music source on my iPhone to listen and compare (I forget but maybe each headphone had an audio plug I could just plug into my iPhone, so you may want an audio plug source - dunno about Bluetooth today)

I spent about two hours in audiophile heaven just trying on and listening to all brands including like $2000 headphones and eventually fell for an open-back Audio-Technica which had such an open soundstage I could feel where each instrument was located on the stage (bought cheaper in Oz - A2A) - that was years ago - I stopped using them because the heavy wire was a pain to handle - so now I'm back to bluetooth Bose - easy, sweet, walk anywhere, good enough !

      • We need that place in Australia!! I stayed in Shinjuku last year, that place looks familiar I think I may have browsed some cameras in there :)

  • I got these for less than this price at JB a while back but I can't find the deal. It's definitely not the SE because I still have the box and it literally says SC. Does anyone else remember that deal?

    • +2

It's most likely that you took the SE deal (If you bought it around the same time), JB ran out of the SE stock and gave you a SC instead. (Like many others have reported before)

    • +1

If I'm not mistaken I think JB honored a low price of the SE when they ran out of stock and substituted with the SC. It was a fluke deal.

      • +1

        Exactly right, thank you :)

  • I have a pair I bought recently, really bad experience personally with bluetooth always cutting out with every device I tried them with.

I dont know if 6 comments on a reddit thread from a year ago for a headset that has presumably sold massive quantities worldwide would constitute "many".

        • -1

well that is just a thread, i havent look further….

    • +1

I have not experienced this problem—probably a faulty batch.

      • Yeah maybe, returning them because ive updated them, turned quality down…pretty much every trick I could think of

    • +1

Perhaps download Bose app and update the firmware will fix it

    • Same as my bose qc 45 se when connecting to my pc. It doesn't know that I'm playing a game or watching a movie and goes sleep mode. Lucky it's quick to reconnect by turning off/on again.

      • idk man but if me i will be furious that an expensive can is behaving like that

        • One time the sound went off in the middle of a team fight and I was like fkkkk

    • Exact same problem. Returned it and got an upgrade. Returned that too and got the same model again. Then just sold the unopened box on Marketplace.
While the Noise Cancellation works well, the microphone picks up a lot of background noise even in a closed room with low decibel ambient sounds like television or even just wind.

      • Damn re noise then its defeat my purpose of using this in the office (zoom meeting) where people talking around me

  • This headphone is the best. Really like it

  • -2

Damn it, I bought these during black Friday for around $270 after price matching and perks. Anyone know if JB will retroactively refund for this better price?

    • If purchased within the last 14 days then yes, they will refund the price difference. You either go to the store or contact customer support through live chat.

  • +1

Ordered and just put in my Amazon refund! Awesome price!

  • This are great but be cautious on upgrading the firmware. i think you can stop the firmware upgrade from the app, or maybe just don't install the app. I've had this for awhile but all of a sudden the headphones would turn off by itself after connecting to my phone. i got it fixed by running a reset but it would turn off intermittently. it turns on after 10 seconds or so. it's a bit annoying if you're using your headphones for remote work and answer work calls

    • -1

This are great but be cautious on upgrading the firmware.

Why? Firmware is suppose to fix issues. Maybe update firmware again!

i think you can stop the firmware upgrade from the app

      Just don’t download the app

  • Thanks OP. Christmas present sorted :)

  • -5

Haven’t even opened the one I bought at $147.60 from the previous deal, and still I’m tempted by this!

    • +2

Didn't neg but that was a different model

    • You obviously don’t need another one. I am very tempted by this price but I am happy with AirPods and don’t think these will get much use so I am resisting.

      • +1

I have these and AirPod Pros. I still use the Bose at work while at a desk, and then the AirPods when out and about. I do find the AirPods comfortable but these more so.

In an office environment anytime I have these on people think I’m on a call too, and often leave me alone. Works enough that occasionally I’ve put them on but not actually listened to anything.

        • i really need a good noise cancellation - office is so noisy with people talking on phone and meeting on the open desk instead of meeting room

          • @CyberMurning: Both the AirPods and Bose work fine for me for office use. Mines not super noisy but usually.

  • last time i tried, i feel the clamp is too weak yes i have smal head it slips easily when i make sudden moves looking down

  • got one at $178.2!!

  • Thanks OP, grabbed one

  • Did anyone else not get a confirmation email?

  • I bought 2 weeks ago for $299 from jbhifi. Dang.

    • You can ask for refund for the difference

      • Ah I bought 15 days ago and maybe they have a policy that if it's within 14 days (based on googling), they could. Double dang.

        • wat….. so unlucky wat…. oh wat…

        • try it anyways

          • +1

@Bacons: Thanks. Took a few hours waiting on live chat and they initially rejected it, then I pushed them. I also said I am within 30 days change of mind period and would appreciate a gesture of goodwill, otherwise I will refund it and buy it again.

They said it's unlikely their manager would say yes, then they asked and manager said yes.

Today I received a $91 gift card via email. I had used a $10 voucher initially, so I assume they took that off (a little snaky, as if I had refunded and re-bought, I would have profited at least an extra $10-$30 more, but overall I am satisfied with not having to expend more effort on this).

            Thanks all!

    • Can you buy another one and return it using the old receipt?

      • Thanks, interesting idea.

      • +2

Think it through. It achieves nothing.

        • Think it through. It achieves nothing.

          You can also think again.

If I had bought the item and opened it, which I did, then it is no longer eligible for change of mind return.

So this person is suggesting I could have bought the item again under the new price, then used my original receipt to return that new item. What did it achieve? It allowed for a refund on item that I had already opened.

          • @watwatwat: I stand corrected. I was under the impression they won't accept returns after 14 days. Looks like it's 30 days for change of mind returns.

  • Good deal op , picked up one for C&C

  • Thanks OP got one!
