If already on catch, do you need to port out then port back in to use this?

    • +1

Yeah. New services only, so new numbers or porting in existing numbers.

Good Optus competitor to Kogan's $120 120GB yearly plan on Vodafone. $99 is the "normal sale" price that it regularly drops down to.

Now the question is whether either of them will drop their plans to $89 in a less frequent "special sale".

  • +1

    esim not supported :(

    • Damn…

    • Don't know why they would cause so much pain, you provide the service Catch!

  • +3

Ordered. Order status awaiting shipment +2 weeks… Requested refund, refund approved, no refund issued +1 week… next?More phonecalls i suppose. Buttocks pain, YMMV.

  • +1

Damn. I just ordered one for $109..

What if you don't activate within 30 days?

    The T&C states:

Additionally, you must activate your Catch Connect SIM card within 24 months of purchase, otherwise the SIM card will be cancelled and any credit associated with it will be forfeited

If I'm buying it now to lock in the $99 price and not activating until Feb 2025 when my current plan expires, will I lose out on anything?

    • +2

Keen to know too as I am in the same position as you where my current Catch Connect 60GB 365 day plan expires end of Feb 2025. I'd like to stay with Catch Connect so will be looking to buy this and activate in late Mar as I'll buy a cheap 1 month SIM to port out of Catch Connect before coming back under the new SIM plan.

      • +4

I'm inclined to just lock in the $99 price today and worry about it come Feb 2025. There's always the 'activate within 24 months of purchase' term that should cover us should anything go south. Worst they could do is just nerf the data allowance but I doubt it.

        • +1

OK just went back to my emails and we should be good.

I bought my current 365-day Catch Connect on 28th Nov 2023 and I activated it on 28th Feb 2024 which was 3 months. Buying it now is only 4 months (1 month more) so we should be good.

          • +1

@D1977: Similar with me i need to activate 23 February 2025 should we get this?

            • +1

@CyberMurning: So my only thoughts are, do we wait for Cyber Monday sales on 2nd December where it may be cheaper? Decisions decisions.

              • @D1977: Ah yes.. and boxing day sales… and Australian day sales… lol…
Well look above there is link about increasing price after October

    • Activate within 30 days to get current benefits.

If you activate after this, the inclusions might change.
For example, the data allowance might decrease to 100Gb.

      • I don’t see any current benefits of it though. There’s no bonus days listed and the coupon code is upfront unlike a cashback that could be invalidated later on.

It’s sold as a 120GB SIM, not something like a 100GB + 20GB bonus where the 20GB drops off if you don’t activate it within 30 days but I could be wrong 🤷🏽‍♂️

        • It it actually physically sold as a 120Gb SIM though?

Or is it just the graphic in this listing selling it as a 120Gb plan, when the reality is that it's a $150 prepaid SIM.
ie,the included $ value is fixed, the included data variable.
The fine print indicates the latter.

Should be good enough either way for my purposes.
I'm on the old 60Gb plan with 45 days remaining and only 33Gb consumed.

  • Ordered a week ago, order apparently 'delayed'

If you need a plan in a hurry, this might not be your best choice

    • I can wait for 3 months if needed haha and hopefully they give some kind of compensation for the delay

  • Hmm my 1 year amaysim exp in 126 days should i wait…

  • Note that the Catch Connect $109 deals ends tomorrow 22/10, before the code which expires on the 4/11.

Hmmm me!ns this deal $99 is expiring tomorrow not November?

    • That's right. Unless they extend it?

  • pfft.. i ordered this from the last deal for my son on the 8th and it's still in transit … never had a sim take more than 2 weeks to be shipped.

  • +1

    Good deal, thanks OP.
But no esim support is putting me off. I'll shell out+$21 to get eSim with same amount of data from Kogan.

  • Wait for Black Friday deals.

    • Why? How much was this last black friday?

      • Past performance is not indicator of future result

Went from Boost to Catch last year because it was so cheap. Coverage was poor and my battery life took a hit because it was constantly searching for coverage.

Changed back to Boost and it's shit now too.

Should have just stayed with Catch

  • Ordered and have been waiting 8 days for the sim card to leave the warehouse. Followed-up, apparently it optus and cannot give me an update. cannot see why. so monies have been taken and no sim, and no interest on helping. just a heads up if you want a quick turn around.

    • Mine says awaiting dispatch even though I received it like 5 days ago, the tracking for yours is probably wrong too.

      • Mine was the same. Received a couple days ago but tracking on catch says there's a delay with my order - awaiting dispatch.

  • Can I order more than 1 Sim?

    • +1

Single use voucher only so just create another account to get another one for $99

  • Does this use the Telstra network?

  • Thanks! Got one for the kid :)

  • Order kept failing using Desktop Chrome or Edge.
    Order succeeded using Android app.

  • You guys be careful if you want to buy, I ordered this around October 4th and received it yesterday. Also I only bought it for 109 but expected the "Extra 60gb" people were talking about which bumps it up to 180gb but only got the standard 120. Find another deal guys and don't bother with this headache.

  • Can you pay with Catch gift card? Shopback says 3% off. I know cashback doesn't apply to Catch Connect SIM orders, so I'm wondering about GCs as well.

    • +3

I paid with a Catch gift card from AGL. I’d rather get instant 6% straight away rather than wait for 3% cashback

      • @escusemay were you able to successfully purchase the Catch Connect plan using the Catch gift card?

I have access to the Rewards Gateway and it states that the gift card "Cannot be used for Catch Connect mobile services."

        • +1

Yes I’ve never had issues purchasing Catch Connect services with a Catch gift card. I think as long as you’re purchasing from Catch and not the Catch Mobile website, it should be fine.

Here’s a screenshot of my email.

          • @escusemay: Thanks for your quick response. I was able to purchase the Catch Connect plan using a Catch gift card.

      • Good heads up - I've just done the same.

  • So annoyed, I paid the same for only 60GB a few months ago. My 12 month renewal time seems to be out of sync with all the good deals :(

  • Can I order this under my name, but use it for porting my mom's number under her name?

    • +2

Porting requires the owner of the number registered confirm a code via SMS. You can certainly buy this and perform the porting for her.

  • Tried entering the coupon code, it's not allowing me to add it. Says invalid code. Has it expired early?

    • Still working, are you logged in? And you haven't used it already for something else?

      • Ok. I found it works on the Catch app but not in the browser as one guy in the above comment mentioned.
        Thanks for checking Hamza!

        • +1

Ah right, I am using the browser myself. Glad you got it sorted anyway.

  • What happens if I use up 120GB in less than 365 days? Will I simply have no data left to use for the remaining period or will I be charged more when I over the limit?

    • The former, from CIS:

After you've used your included data, you will no longer be able to use your data service until you recharge again, unless you have an active Data Extras pack or Catch Extras credit.

      • Thanks mate!

  • +1

    out of stock?

    • Catch Connect deal expired 2 days ago in any case.
