    Released 2014

      Dang!

    • +3

everything has worked better in the past..

    • +20

Not quite, manufactured 2015 to 2018. Majority of our batches are 2017-2018 and similar sort of usage hours

      • +5

any recent models with usb-c pd coming up?

      • what sort of usage hours?

    • +3

      I'm still using 3008WFP along side a 2405FPW

      • My U2711 died in the middle of COVID which was a bit sad but it was a real space heater

  • +6

I bought two from last deal, both run without issue, just some scuffs on the back.

  • +1
    • Might be pushing it, it weights 8.4kg

      • +4

        Perfectly within range then 😉

    • +1

I have tried that, didn't work

      • Why?

        • I guess it was too heavy. I was using that stand with 29'' monitor and it was fine.
When I replaced 29'' monitor with this 34'' Dell stand wasn't able to hold it.

    • Not sure about the one you linked but I got this monitor during the last deal and its on a mount rated for 9kg and 32” and its been fine.
I was skeptical if the mount would work at first but lots of googling showed that everyone does similar and it works fine.

      This is the arm I got, if anyone else wants to check if one with similar specs would be okay;

  • Ah if only I didn't have 2 perfectly working 27's…..

    • +1

If they're 1440p or higher you'll have more screen real estate than these things

    • +1

switched from 2 perfectly working 27" to this U3415W 34" several years back, and now on a samsung 49", no regrets.

  • Assume these have Vesa mounts given no stand is included?

    • No, it will be monitor only with cables

      • +6

Sorry I meant Vesa mount-compatible.. Which seems to be confirmed on the website.

    • +3

      Yes 100mm

  • Tempting, I reckon there's a few stands around work we're about to dispose of.

Pity they're a bit too old for USB-C connectivity.

    • New version has USB-C and 100Hz https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-34-curved-usb-c-monitor…

I know it's not the U version but for most it's plenty good enough.

      • +1

The only reason I'm remotely interested is because it's $200, being a productivity monitor I'd rather go with a U series.

USB-C started in the U3419WEs I think, the U3423W's are 100hz/120hz (over certain interfaces)

    • Not all dell stands are interchangeable…. found out the hard way

      • Which stand did you try? I was hoping to use my Dell Ultra sharp 2407 monitor stand.

        • Cant remember but the VESA plate on the stand itself has model numbers on them… it was mainly the locating lugs that were wrong

  • +5

Resisted last time but pulled the trigger at this price.

    • +6

      I need a stand and it comes $249 + $20 shipping total of $269.00

Better buy new $352 from Amazon ($83 more but brand new)

      https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09Y19TRQ2/ref=ox_sc_sa…

      • This looks really good actually, since pretty decent specs on it plus 3 years warranty

      • Looks better than my Lenovo L32p-30 and even cheaper. Will it be an upgrade?

      • This is a VA panel.
        Don't believe the Amazon header.

      • That's a va panel though, so not really a great comparison

  • +10

    Do I need a 4th screen? Perhaps.

    • This really made me laugh

      • I WFH with 4 screens (5 if you count my laptop) and it's glorious

  • Last time had a bad experience with the delivery that I had to pick up at the airport warehouse. Will test it today and see if I need another one. $20 cheaper than last deal.

  • Which normal stand I can use for this monitor?! My desk doesnt allow to have the one with arms :(

  • +3

Purchased in last round, minor damage and some sticky residue because the buttons aren't well labelled on these monitors and every user sticks on a label saying which button does which lol

I got a heavyweight arm from Amazon as it's affixed to a sit stand desk used by different people hence needed to be adjusted frequently. You might get away with a lighter arm if it stays in the same position.

Note - they don't support usb-c. Or my one didn't.

    But overall happy with purchase.

  • +1

bought one, now im looking for the arm to fit in. Any recommendation?

  • -1

Does it even make sense to buy this kind of second hand monitor when a little bit more can get you a brand new one?

    • Little more? How do you figure though… brand new u34 series wouls cost around 1400+

      • +1

OP could mean something like this which only costs a bit more. Not sure the diff.
        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09Y19TRQ2/ref=ewc_pr_i…

        • Ah got it. Yeah in that case you don't need ultrasharp series, just a good ol S34 curved series during sale period would be a very very attractive deal ✌️

        • +1

That's a va panel, which is a pretty major difference. Ips is far better for most things

    • -1

only if you need a cheap gaming monitor, personally don't think ultrawide curved are good for anything else and this one has a poor refresh rate

for media consumption and general computing you are better off with a 34" 16:9 1440p non curved for a tiny fraction more - well if you are anything like me where you have terrible posture, recline on your chair, put your feet on the table, etc

the only other fit is perfect posture and productivity but how often are you doing that lol

      • In general U and P series are not meant for high refresh gaming. If you are, then you're using wrong product for wrong application. These are really good productivity focussed monitors. Very easy on the eyes, readability and color accuracy (for photo / video editing). For me I use a dell hdr gaming monitor for my pc, and U series monitors for work and study.
Only issue with gaming monitor I have is with wacko HDR support on windows 11 which is a big can of worms duee to vague hdr standards across the industry.

  • Anyone know their average power draw?

  • +3

Ordered in their last promo. After 5weeks of no correspondence they cancelled the order.
    And now selling again!
I did get a refund, but won't deal with this mob

    • What was the reason for the cancellation?

  • Nice. Pulled the trigger for the wife’s study set up.

  • Does this monitor have speakers? Are they any good?

    • got stereo…very avg. but screen is great!

      • Thank you

  • Good price for this monitor size

  • cheers, Grabbed 2 hopefully they work ok for some basic gaming on the side.

  • Hey @untech,how long does this deal go for?

    • 23/10 if the date just under all the social media icons that are below the item description.

      Or unless all sold 🤷‍♂️
