Promotion details:

  • This offer is provided by eBay Marketplaces GmbH (“eBay”) and commences at 00:01 (AEST) on 10 September 2024 and ends at 23:59 (AEDT) on 10 October 2024 (“Promotion Period”).
  • eBay reserves the right to cancel the offer at any time as set out in the Changes clause below.

  • “Eligible Sellers” means sellers who:

    • do not have a current eBay Basic, Feature or Anchor Store subscription;
    • have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and
    • have an active eBay Plus membership. The eBay Plus Terms and Conditions will apply in respect of your membership;
    • have received an invitation from eBay to participate in this promotion;

  • The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to 0% variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on the sale of one Eligible Listing sold during the Promotion Period. “Eligible Listing” means an item listing that is:

    • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. it cannot be a relisted item through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
    • listed in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
    • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).
  • Eligible Items will only receive the discounted variable fee until the listing renews, whether by auto-renewal or because the listing is Good ‘Till Cancelled (“GTC”). After this, standard fees will apply.

  • The discount will automatically apply to all Eligible Sellers and Eligible Items during the Promotion Period, in most cases. If the discount does not automatically apply once an Eligible Item has been sold, please allow 24 hours for your eBay.com.au account to be credited. Any dispute about discounted Final Value Fees must be submitted to eBay in writing within 60 days of the date you incurred such charge, otherwise you waive such dispute, and such charge will be final and not subject to challenge.

Exclusions:

  • Items listed in the following categories are excluded from the Promotion (“Excluded Categories”): Websites & Businesses for Sale (11759), Aircraft (63676), Boats (26429), Caravans, Motorhomes (32633), Cars (29690), Motorcycles (32073), Trucks, Commercial Vehicles (6049), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252), Gift Cards (172009). These Excluded Categories are in addition to any listings or categories restricted by eBay's prohibited and restricted items policies.
  • listings scheduled to start after the Promotion Period ends;
  • listings that are relisted during the Promotion Period, either manually, through the automatic relist function, or the GTC function;
  • listings that are listed during the Promotion Period but do not sell and are relisted outside of the Promotion Period;
  • any item sold before the Promotion Period; and
  • listings in Classified Ad format.

    • thanks for the heads up, just bumped up the price on something I'd have been pretty annoyed if I had to pay FVF on

    • Same. Is this new - coz previously all you needed to do was “LIST” before the end date and you would receive the FVF cedit even if it sells after the end date.

      Thanks for the info

      Same here. I contacted eBay to confirm this and they reversed the fee due to me being a "valued and esteemed member". They neither confirmed or denied if the fee was intended lol

    • same here…FML

      time to contact support

  • Here we are at the 15th and no sign of an October ebay FVF deal - they certainly like to keep us guessing.
    Maybe they are only doing it every 2nd months now

    • The most recent one was Sep 10 - Oct 10.

      Do you remember when the one before that was?

      • I think there was a months gap so June -July https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/852278
        Had to list in June - it was short just 10 days to list

        • Do you know if during June-July the rule was also that the item had to be listed and “SOLD” within the promotion period?

          As far back as I can remember, as long as the item was listed before the end date of a promotion it still qualifies for FVF credit even if it sold after the promotion ended.

          Wonder if this is a new rule and if it is going to be permanent moving forward.

          If so, then we’ll have to remember to pull all our listings by the end date and the item still hasn’t sold, or increase the price of the item to factor in the FVF

          • @proudwanderer: I seem to remember it happening once before but I think half the time it is just incompetence and coding errors rather than a plan.

          • +2

            @proudwanderer: This promo was different, it didn't require user acceptance and it just appeared in your sellling tab stating "list and and sell by 10/10" then disappeared so outside of that you will be charged FvF.

            Previously you had to accept the promo and the terms were to simply list within the promotion period that was it.

            We will have to wait n see what they do for the next one..

            • @danielm88: Good point. This was the only one that I remember where it just appeared.

              All the others - as you say - had to accept. I don’t recall any of the others charging FVF after the promo ended - as long as it was listed before the promo end date.

  • is anyone facing tracking not updated on ebay with AU post? contacted support said there's sync issue, more than 1 week now.

    • +1

      No mine is fine

        thanks. just found there's prefix number added to tracking when scanned the bar code, once I removed the prefix, it updated after a while.

    Argh, just got charged final value fee sold after 10th. Need to contact support tomorrow. Hoping they will reverse.

    • Was told this by ebay support:
      "I have checked and found the item was listed on 10th Oct however the item was sold on 21st Oct Here as per T&C it says the item need to be listed and sold within promotion period hence the item was not eligible for promotion"

      I was still credited the fee as a once off exception, but guess it's no longer valid now once the promo period ends.

    Are we going to get one for Oct/Nov I wonder

    • Hopefully for Nov-December as it's end of the year.
