ISP Notes

0% Variable Final Value Fees on 1 New Listing (Capped at $25 Discount)

What is the Promotion?

  • The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to 0% variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on the sale of one Eligible Listing sold during the Promotion Period, to a discount of up to $25 (incl. GST). “Eligible Listing” means an item listing that is:
    newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. it cannot be a relisted item through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
listed in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).
  • This promotion only applies to the variable fees on the Eligible Listing that is sold prior to the listing renewal, whether by auto-renewal or because the listing is GTC. After this, standard eBay fees will apply.
Final Value Fees are the selling fees charged on the sale of an item, calculated as a percentage of the total sale amount paid per item (item price plus postage and handling charges) called a ‘variable fee’, plus a fixed charge of $0.30 per order (incl. GST for non-store subscribers). More information about eBay selling fees without an eBay store subscription can be found here.
Once you have accepted the offer, the Promotion will be automatically assigned to your account and will be visible within My eBay. The Promotion will only apply to Eligible Items listed by the eBay account the Promotion is assigned to.
  • Unless otherwise indicated in these Terms and Conditions, this Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional discounts, offers or waivers in respect of seller listings for Eligible Items.
  • The discount will automatically apply to all Eligible Sellers and Eligible Items (up to the maximum, if applicable) during the Promotion Period, in most cases. If the discount does not automatically apply once an Eligible Item has been sold, please allow 24 hours for your account to be credited. Any dispute about discounted Final Value Fees must be submitted to eBay in writing within 60 days of the date you incurred such charge, otherwise you waive such dispute and such charge will be final and not subject to challenge.

      ebay is going down quickly….

FaceBook Marketplace (and Gumtree) always has:
      ZERO selling fees
Ability to sell within an hour or so (so no need to wait out the auction period)
      Instant cash payment
      Zero fee payment options

      • +1

Gumtree is dead. Facebook is OK for cash sales if you can persevere with 10:1 messages that are scammers or time wasters.

      1) Don't make racial statement, the rest of your statements lose credibility instantly.

      2) Why are you below standard? Be a better seller !

      3) Seems like you did received discount on the standard fee, and were just charged for the penalty portion.

And seems to me you only wanted to see what you wanted to see and that's the racist part BUT neglected to see what my actual problems is, how it got there and what's the issue, you're extremely intelligent as ebay staff is that's as I've said playing DF about their terms, me being allowed to accept the offer even though i shouldn't as i don't fulfil the requirements and the 2 contradictions in it and what's the actual problem.

        • that's the racist part BUT neglected to see what my actual problems is

          Obviously.

Why would anyone care about your actual problems, once you've outed yourself as a racist ?

As has already been said further up :

          1) Don't make racial statement, the rest of your statements lose credibility instantly.

To be fair, when I looked years ago two transactions was all it takes to make you a "bad" seller. It's onerous depending (eg: out of stock, which could happen when listing on multiple fronts). Also, eBay's concept of a transaction didn't make sense, one item was flagging as two transactions. You can be a great seller and get done very easily by bad luck that isn't your fault. Of course you could also just be a bad seller.

        • It works on percentage terms. eBay knocks you off top status if you have just 0.5% transactions go bad. There are few things in life you can be 99.4% good at and still fail.

          • @Cluster: Yeah I meant for average Joe selling only a few items it's a big deal

    • I'll post later a topic in the forums

I've got the popcorn ready for when you are.

    Yes, finally! Thanks OP.

So does it cap at $25 fee? Or do you only save $25 from the fee total. Aka if I sell a high price item I still get reemed?

  • +1

Not as good as 'no cap', but kind-of-better than nothing.

  • $25 cap, anyone work out what the max sell price is?

    • +3

      According to this:
Maximum Variable fee free sale is approximately $186.

    • +4

eBay fee: 13.4% of the sale amount + $0.30 fixed fee

      x * 13.4% = $25
      x = 25 / 0.134

      x = $186.57

*The fixed fee of $0.30 is then added separately to the final amount.

      • +1

wow 186 bucks thats chump change in this economy

      • +1

I just sold something with this deal but was only charged 12.18%. Maybe it varies depending on category

        • Yeah, you're right. I checked a few of my previously sold items and the fee was 12.18% on all items under $4k

However eBay does say the fee is 13.14%

Based on the 12.18% fee the maximum sale price to hit the $25 cap is: $205.25

          x * 12.18% = $25
          x = 25 / 0.1218
          x = $205.25

  • so whats the max amount without paying any fees?

  • +2

Unfortunately this promotional offer is not available to you :(

    • Same here! I wonder why?

      • dunno, havent sold on ebay for a while

      • I'm guessing you don't have eBay Plus as the acceptance states "eBay Plus: Save up to $25 on fees on your next sale".

        • Have eBay Plus

  • how does this work? for existing listings, do I need to re-list them?

    • +2

yes, it should be a brand new listing, do not do relist to be safe.

      • +2

I always relist as sell similar and had no issue.

  • +1

    only 10 days left.

    • +1

nah, once you list item you can have full 30 days, only 10 days left to list item to be eligible.
If I don't sell within 10 days, I will delete and relist on the last day to reset back to 30 days.

      • +3

“ on the sale of one Eligible Listing sold during the Promotion Period”

  • +3

It's only $25, but I'll take $25 over $0 any day. Thanks OP, keep posting these offers as despite being a very long term eBay Plus seller I never receive them. But the clicked links always work.

  • +1

Thanks OP. The offer appears limited to eBay Plus members as the acceptance I received states "eBay Plus: Save up to $25 on fees on your next sale". If that is definitely the case then you may need to amend the deal title.

    edit:
Ignore that… I just noticed you have eBay Plus at the beginning and I was looking at the end of the subject. Time for me to go and have a Bex and a good lie down.

  • +3

wow does ebay know there is like 10 days left in june…. get your S^%T together ebay

    • You just gotta only list it within the next few days…. and let it sell within 30 days

      • I don't think that's true. I'm sure I got stung for fees the last time.

        • I haven’t had any issues. Always listing it with sell one like this

          • @BargainsGrabber: I can also confirm that I sold a couple of items in June (listed in May) and the May promo applied without issues.

            • @Hiphopopotamus: Can confirm

            • @Hiphopopotamus: Yep, worked fine in the past for me too. As long as they're listed during the promotional period (in this case, before the end of June), the promo will be applied if the item sells before the listing renews (so, 30 days for 'Buy It Now').

Be sure to save a screenshot of the offer in your selling page in case there's a dispute with eBay later. Speaking from experience…

  • +2

    Targeted

  • -3

How much do I have to pay as a fee, if I would like to sell my Google Pixel 7 (mint condition) through eBay? I recently sold a case (first sale) and eBay waived the postage label fees.

  • +2

13.4% of the sale price minus $25

  • If an order is cancelled, will the promo quota be reinstated? Asking because the promo isn't showing under promotional offer in my account anymore.

    • No, if it's used its gone. Support may credit you for the next item sold as a good will gesture.

  • Can we still activate it and list this month, then if it's happen to be sold next month, we still get the rebate? I just got 1 sold (listed at the end of May) and got charged full selling fee (activated both May & June offer, with this particular one I listed in May)
