Promotion details:

  • This offer is provided by eBay Marketplaces GmbH (“eBay”) and commences at 00:01 (AEDT) on 1 April 2024 and ends at 23:59 (AEST) on 30 April 2024 (“Promotion Period”).
  • eBay reserves the right to cancel the offer at any time as set out in the Changes clause below.

  • “Eligible Sellers” means sellers who:

    • do not have a current eBay Basic, Feature or Anchor Store subscription;
    • have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and

  • The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to 0% variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on the sale of one Eligible Listing sold during the Promotion Period, to a discount of up to $25 (incl. GST). “Eligible Listing” means an item listing that is:

    • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. it cannot be a relisted item through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
    • listed in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
    • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).
  • Eligible Items will only receive the discounted variable fee until the listing renews, whether by auto-renewal or because the listing is Good ‘Till Cancelled (“GTC”). After this, standard fees will apply.

  • The discount will automatically apply to all Eligible Sellers and Eligible Items during the Promotion Period, in most cases. If the discount does not automatically apply once an Eligible Item has been sold, please allow 24 hours for your eBay.com.au account to be credited. Any dispute about discounted Final Value Fees must be submitted to eBay in writing within 60 days of the date you incurred such charge, otherwise you waive such dispute, and such charge will be final and not subject to challenge.

No complaining in the comments until 1st April please!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww (thank you for the monthly reminder) :)

  • +4

$25 cap so like $190 ish and below sale is no fees
    Mmmmm

    • Perfect for clothing, bags, accessories, old devices, books, furniture… Plenty of things that make more sense to list on eBay without the final value fee for less than $190.

"Hi I just bought your thing 5 minutes ago, but now I want to cancel" (happened to me last month)

    • +2

Eh, can always re-list. Much better outcome than FB Marketplace or Gumtree problems.

      • +1

Yes of course, but that was the end of my 1 free no limit fvf for the month

        • Hmm, I'm not so sure - a while I checked with eBay support, and I can recall they confirmed that the final value fee is waived as long as the listing is created within the offer period, and that listing edits do not change the final value fee offer. I guess that means that as long as the listing ID remains the same after cancellation, the offer may still stand? Could be worth checking in with support over live chat to find out, and save the transcript just in case.

          • +6

@aidenh37: eBay customer service tend to make it up as they go. If somebody checks out with a free fvf item, that freebie is used

      • +1

Nope you definitely lose the promo, have had that argument.more than once with eBay support

    • Maybe eBay staff know which listing was the result of the offer,
and they themselves bid on that listing & then cancel your listing.

      • +1

Just quickly dispatch the order so they have to suck it up xD

        • Not worth the hassle you are opening up yourself to. (eg. buyer claims never received, buyer claims item is faulty etc etc.)

eBay usually sides with the buyer in the early part of the sale, so beware!!

  • +1

    1…. yah :/

  • +3

Is it really something worth getting excited about?

    • +2

Better than a kick in the pants

    • +6

Yes, if you’re a small-scale seller. EBay used to have all sorts of regular promotions like this that were really popular. The ‘$1 FVF on weekends’ were fantastic, when they stopped that my own selling dropped dramatically and I switched primarily to Gumtree and FB Marketplace due to no fees involved. Which sucks, because those platforms simply don’t have the reach of eBay so it’s more challenging, plus you have to deal with endless tyre-kickers who waste your time.

  • Haven’t used my march promo listing yet… if i list before end of march and it sells in april, is that still counted for the march promo?

  • +2

Too bad it’s capped at $25 :(, was going to list new titanic Lego set but the fees are such a turn off.

  • eBay common, stop spoiling us!

  • @I Smell Pennies Can you please confirm that these kinda promo still work after the next month starts, if the item was listed in the initial promo month? i.e. can I list a 7 day auction today using ine of my three free listing promos, and sell next week, and get no fees?

    Thanks so much

So this is how a company slowly dies…

    • -3

      Great insight, replyguy..

    • +1

By offering less promos on free fees? Yeah nah. As much as I hate eBay like the next guy there is still not viable alternative to eBay.

      • Ebay has been getting less and less appealing for both buyers and sellers, and the platform is essentially the same it was over a decade ago. Depending on what items you're buying or selling, gumtree (for the free service) and niche websites (for the targeted audience) might be much better at this point.

Edit: besides other similar alternatives like Amazon, AliExpress, Temu, etc…

Sold something today, the 50% label didn't come up. Is it finished if anyone can confirm?

    • +1

It stopped for me and some others recently too but I don't know why - my other account still has it

    • Same. I'll wait another day to see if it comes back.

    • +1

Worked for me yesterday (last day of the month) but I just tried today on another account for an item I sold a few days ago and it doesn't work on it.

  • +6

    No 50% off ship

  • Thanks OP 👍🤒🍻

  • Wtf is going on with the 50% off shipping?

  • Have checked with eBay support there is no longer any 50% off shipping for x3 labels that is gone now and it is only "up to 50%" with the actual saving being 7-8% making it almost pointless.

    • How stupid. I’m ending all my listings until eBay come back to the party, it is not worth it at the moment!

    • +3

The 50% labels are showing for me now. I sold something today and it says: 3x 50% off postage labels for eBay Plus members until 30/04

      • +1

Thanks for this comment - I checked my account and I've got the same offer.

        • How do you check you got the offer unless you sell something?

          • +2

@runamuck: I went to an item I sold last month and from the 'View order details' dropdown selected 'Purchase another label'. I didn't actually purchase another label but looked at the quoted price. Where you pick the shipping service you want to use it has the new offer end date of April "3x 50% off postage labels for eBay Plus members until 30/04".

  • Are there any worthwhile signup deals for eBay Plus at the moment?
