I got an extra 2000 points by contacting rewards support through the online chat since my bonus points didn't arrive.

This is the message they sent when I reached out.

Might be worthwhile to give it a try.

Hi (name) apologies unfortunately we had a technical glitch yesterday morning with that promotion. As per the terms and conditions of the promotion you can expect to receive the 10,000pts within 14 business days so by the 24/9/24. I have goodwill 2000pts onto your account now for the trouble and should appear within 24hrs. Was there anything else I can assist you with today?

    • you met a nice one.

I don't understand why we have to wait 3 weeks. They know who are affected. They should credit the points now.

  • QLD Woolies

Found $50 and $100 Vanilla Visas, no sign of any Variable loads.
Found $50 and $100 Birthday Card, no sign of $500

not sure if they've been removed, but couldn't find any.

    • Same in 5 woolies in SE Melbourne

On the back of the packaging it says a PIN is optional, yet if you try to enter a PIN the transaction gets declined.

  • Been to 3 stores on the Gold Coast (Southport and Aahmore) not a single variable load card to be seen, even locked behind the card display. What a scam!

  • I attempted to pay the Strata fee via the Deft payment website, but it no longer works. Are there alternative methods available for making the payment?

    • +1

      Coles Mastercard works on Deft

      • Yes, I used a couple last week.

Good luck finding any of the variable load cards at Woolworths stores in Melbourne. I went to 5 of them yesterday, spending it petrol let alone my time, all of the benefit I hoped to achieve, but NONE of them had any. Upon asking at the Service Desk if any were there and being held back for manual dispensing, I was told NO, that they all sold out first thing Wednesday morning and that no additional supplies are forthcomming. Obviously this is a pretend promo just designed to get people in the door!

I wonder if Woolies have any idea how much ill-will they create by jerking us around like this?

    • These deals always sell out on Wednesday morning. Now you know for next time.

      • I bought couple on Thurdsday morning, was lucky
and sometimes they restock the cards

    • Went to more than 10 Woolies, pretty much gone by now.

    • I've had no trouble finding them.

      • Every single day from Wednesday until today?

        • Me either.

4 a day since Wednesday last week! Not a bad earner.

  • Any left in Sydney?

  • are you able to purchase these with the commbank yello special woolworths visa cards ?
id lost this post because it was the one that got taken down and didnt notice the repost….

    • Yes

      • Thanks worked a treat with the special cards. Sadly i purchased the Mastercard not visa card 🤦‍♂️

  • Can someone confirm, if this can be added to paypal account?

    • yes, added and used the white vanilla visa gc for payments thru paypal

  • Thought I finally got lucky when I found the variable load cards this morning, and the lady at the service desk confirmed it was eligible for 10x points…. Turns out it was the MasterCard ;(

What are my chances of being able to return?

    • Contact customer service online and try your luck

I have made this mistake in the past. There is no chance for a refund.
I had success with the following:
Called EDR helpdesk and explained that I accidentally purchased Vanilla Mastercard instead of Vanilla Visa. They both look very similar and the Mastercard was displayed very prominently which is the case with weekly promotions, hence the easy confusion and mistake. They gave me the points out of goodwill anyway.
      YMMV.

Just contacted them through the rewards app and sent same as above, was given a once off goodwill gesture.
        Cheers

last time when there was a a promotion for tcn eftpos gift card, staff put the perfect eftpos gift card. When there is no points showed in screen before paying, staff said sometime it takes 2 weeks to get points. After 2 weeks I didn’t get points because if was wrong card I bought. Customer representative gave me 7000 points instead of 10000 as a good will. Something is better than nothing.

  • Very interesting chat with customer service…

After some backwards and forwards, they asked me to upload pics of the front of the cards

"Thanks for sharing those! It seems there may be a mistake with the card name showing on our end. I can see these are Vanilla Mastercard cards. In this instance, I'd ask to please await the 14 business days from the end of the promotion (10/09) for the points to automatically be allocated. If you don't receive the points after 30/09, please reach out so we can have a further look into it."

    When I asked to clarify:

"I apologise for the mistake earlier as mentioned, in the system it lists the card as a different name. Please await the 14 business days as instructed and if the points don't automatically come through feel free to contact our Everyday Rewards team who can assist further. Rest assured, i've left notes on your account on what's been advised should you need to get back into contact with us again. Was there anything else I can assist with?"

    • @WookieMonster any ideas what's happened here? Do I have special cards or something? 😂

      • +2

No, it sounds like the rep has no idea that Woolworths sells both Vanilla Visa gift cards and Vanilla Mastercard gift cards.

It sounds like the rep thinks the gift card you bought was a Vanilla Visa gift card that has its name changed to Vanilla Mastercard gift card by the checkout for some unknown reason, and that was the reason you were not awarded any points at the checkout.

I wish you luck in getting the points!

  • Not working with paypal?

    • Sometimes not active as soon as paying, wait a few hours and try again

      • I paid with the card at terminal and it worked… will try paypal again

  • Surprised to see plenty of variable load cards on the rack this morning in Hobart. I guess that's one positive of a low population density area.

    • seems there are many card scam recently
I have heard that you can request WWS staff member to open the card before making the payment (see if the card number have been scraped)

      • The Coles Mastercard still works.

    • What is an 'urban utility'? This card worked yesterday for me on a city apartment water bill.

  • Anyone else still waiting for their points?

    • Yup

received points today called "Make it right" :)

      • Me too

        • me 3

          • @ttkc: +1
Yes, having commented above that I hadn't received them, they came in today.

  • Can these be used to purchase gift cards on any site? I tried buying $50 jb hifi gift card with a $50 Visa card and it failed because it took a $1 authorisation and wasn’t enough then to purchase the $50 voucher.

    • +2

Most gift card sites will reject them either for being a prepaid card, or for being unable to do a 3D Secure check (because there is no app or phone number to send a verification code to). The only exceptions I'm aware of are Shopback and Woolworths Group (when paying via Paypal).

  • Points finally arrived! Gift Cards purchased Wednesday morning 4th September. Points landed Wednesday evening 18th September.

    • Ditto here too
