    They're getting desperate…

    • +2

Yep, after Buddy Telco got released

  • So it will be 2 month of Ultrafast internet follow by 4 month of Ultraslow… Hmmm…
Who would think this is a good idea…

    • +2

Who’s holding you for anything beyond the 2 months?

      • If you switch provider from the one that you were with for the free fibre upgrade, NBN can charge a fee.

        • You are allowed to swap providers if you stay on 100/20 or faster. Most providers don't charge the $200 nbn fee.

      • Yeah you can swap providers after 2 months. Don't forget to give Superloop 30-days cancellation notice.

        • I was under impression this is 6 months contract.

If I can cancel after 2 months I can give them a shot actually.

          • @SickDmith: You can pay $75-$85/month for 2 months of 1000/50. After 6 months is when the monthly price goes up.

You may cancel your service at any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice (including if you do not wish to continue to use your service during the notice period).

            • @Twix:

You can pay $75-$85/month for 2 months of 1000/50.

              I can understand this.

After 6 months is when the monthly price goes up.

              I don't understand this.

All I want is 1000/50 for two months until I decide where to go. :)

@SickDmith: I was talking about the ongoing price after 6 months.

                1. $75-$85/month for 2 months of 1000/50. For the next 4 months you get put back on a slower speed for $75-$85/month.

                2. $75-$85/month for 2 months of 1000/50. If you want to keep 1000/50 from month 3 onwards it's $109/month.

I’ve rung twice to disconnect but they keep disconnecting my phone call 😭

    • Call at 0830 AEST. I did yesterday and took less than 6 minutes on the phone to cancel.

    • Hi specific were you being about what you wanted disconnected?

    • Yeah worst customer support I have experienced, on hold ages then disconnect.
You need to give a months notice to cancel too or they charge you for the month.

I’ve rung twice to disconnect but they keep disconnecting my phone call 😭

So they are doing what you asked them to do, and then you complain about it ????????

      • I laughed way too long at that 😂

  • Cancelled yesterday with them.

Told them I'm going to Leaptel for their 100/20 for 74.95.

Told me best they could do was $85/month for 100/20.

    • I threatened same and got offer of 100/20 for $80 and 250/25 for $90.

      • How long were you with them before you threatened to leave? 250/25 for $90 is not bad lol

        • Please be kind and do not threaten people…

          or else !!!!!!!!!

        • I called in June to ask for cancel because plan was expensive.
I was offered $75/month for 100/20 and i just accepted it.

        • pardon my ignorance if i'm just confused.

Wouldn't a $10 extra a month for 1000/50 with Buddy Telco tons better than $90 for 250/25 with Superloop?

          Am I missing something here?

          • @Smilence03: Buddy Telco, the last time I checked, do not allow you to opt out of their CGNAT infrastructure. Which can be problematic. While in Superloop you can opt out.

    "Flexible No lock in contract"
Also superloop: "you must give us 30 days notice to cancel"

    • I had a chat to ACCC about this because there's no way to avoid additional pro rata'd fees regardless of when you cancel due to the billing cycle being the same as the notice period

      • You just have to give them the cancellation date at least 30 days ahead.

So just set it to a day before a billing date…

  • What is considered a new customer? I am currently switching between superloop and exetel every 6 months.
    I am also considering Leaptel.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Title should not have $0 at the start. Seems like plan is free for the first two months. You only get a faster speed for that period on a normal plan, has nothing to do with price. Title has the layout of when the mods change it around, so if they did it like that, very poor and misleading.

    • $0 was for the free FTTP install. Title updated.

Rung up to cancel with Superloop. To try get me to stay, and after telling them the price I was moving to, they tried to get me to stay by offering a higher price than the competitor. Then when I said no, they offered a slightly less, but still higher price. Interesting retention strategy.

    Never again

  • Is Superloop bad? We are about to get our FTTP upgrade over here and they are significantly cheaper than Aussie

    • +2

Superloop's network is normally good. Superloop ask for 30-days cancellation notice. I don't know if this is still accurate but as of 2023 the Superloop tech support was in Adelaide and sales team is in Sri Lanka.

Aussie BB sales and tech support is in Victoria, you can cancel whenever and get a pro-rata refund.

In saying that, you probably won't need tech support after you get FTTP.

      1. Are you currently with Aussie BB or a different provider?
      2. Do you host P2P games or need remote access to your home devices?
        1. With Aussie at the moment
        2. Occassionally. I have a private Left 4 Dead server that gets occassional use
        • I haven't seen any new deals for current Aussie BB customers. If you call Aussie BB they might give you $20 off/month for 6 months.

Leaptel has three nbn FTTP deals and local support in Victoria.

If you change between Aussie BB, Leaptel and Superloop you have to get the ISP to turn off CG-NAT each time so the L4D server can be accessed.

Haven't had a bad experience with them.

Previous place had the NTD fried by a lightning strike to the phone line and they were responsive, easy to deal with and prompt for getting an NBN tech out.

Only catch is the 6 month price and having to give 30 days notice to cancel - so you need to remember that when you go to churn to a better deal.

    • +1

When its working, no. If you have any issues and need to deal with them, yes very bad.

      • That sounds like my ADSL experience with Exetel

        • +1

Superloop own exetel so Im not surprised.

  • Just make sure there's no contract or fee to change provider , move, cancel etc as i signed up with Flip (their site says not fees or contracts) then I asked when the upgrade would happen for the to tell me I had to go on a 12m contract with $200 cancellation fee so I went to another provider with out the fee/contract.
