    Just caution before buying ip15.

Apple Intelligence wont work in ip15 due to ram limitations as of now.

if you plan to use AI you need 15 pro as minimum.

    • +3

Which is laughable, not even offering the service for 15 and previous models through cloud, if there were any real limitations to begin with.

      • eventually they will offer through cloud.

        t
as of now they just want to sell more ip16 in Q4

        • +3

Apple’s differentiator is privacy- requests are handled locally on device- if needed, and with permission, it can send request anonymously to an external AI service, like chatGPT.

      • -2

Sorry but why should base model buyers get features like that? 14/13/12/11 Pro & Pro Max have more rights to it before base 15 and 15 Plus.

        • +2

Because it’s manufactured obsolescence no matter how you see it.

  • +5

So basically $500 off any iphone 15.

    • +1

Yes, but from the last deal, some ppl managed to get JB to price match too

Main highlight I reckon is the iPhone 15 for $800

      • What do you mean by 'some ppl managed to get JB to price match too'?

        • As the previous deal was for any iPads, they got JB to price match the Apple Education pricing. Read through the comments from that deal :)

  • if you put the resale value as $1000 for i15 128gb, pay that back into the plan, sim will cost $1376/24m = $57.33pm

sign up & cancel looks very good if you only pay $800

  • $449 for iPhone 15 Pro 128GB and $799 for iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB.

    • How did you come up with these prices??

  • +4

so expensive to go on a plan these days:

I paid $1450 for the Pro 128GB + some cheap plans and it would probably cost $2,000 for two years

    • +5

The highlight is to cancel immediately so that you can go on a cheaper prepaid yearly plan

      • +1

        Can you pls explain?
Do you mean, sign up for iphone15 pro for $499 with jb on a $99 per month plan for 24 months and cancel ?
So instead of paying $99 how much it will be ?

        • +5

I thought it was already pretty well explained by the comments too
Essentially sign up to their $99 plan, and in your case, the iPhone 15 Pro outright cost will be $499 initially. If you plan to cancel, then it would cost you the additional $865.66

All in all, your iPhone would cost $499 + $865.66

        • $1314.66 as per comment below

        • $449, not $499.

  • +17

    Like previous iPad $1000 OFF offer, we can get as below;
    iPhone 15 128GB $99 (first month plan) + $766.66 (cancellation voucher) = $865.66
    iPhone 15 Pro 128GB $865.66 + 449 = $1314.66
    iPhone 15 Pro MAX 256GB $865.66 + 799 = $1664.66
    Any other iPhone 15 series $865.66 + (Device price - $1300)

    If I'm wrong, leave comment.

    • You may get the first months plan refunded if you are lucky.
But you also didn't seem to include them in the 15 Pro and Pro Max calcs

      • +1

For 15 pro and pro max, $865.66 already includes $99. If we cancel immediately, it's $865.66 ($99 + $766.66) for all models. PRO will add extra device cost ($449/$799).

        • So. Pay $800 in store, get a new number. Go home, cancel plan. Put in existing sim and carry on. Is it really as simple as that?

          • +2

@EitherWayUp: You don’t pay the $800 until you get the confirmation from live chat, as that goes to Telstra

And yup, signed up to about 2 iPads from the previous deal and only hurdle was to get the $69 refunded

          • +3

@EitherWayUp: pay $99 first month fee for JB plan sign up and pay $0/449/799 (depending on the device). Back to home and cancel plan via phone or JB Mobile app. Telstra will charge $766.66. If you don't use any data within 24 hours, you may be refunded $99 as well.

            • @mjkwon74: Thanks bro
My understanding is if going for 15 pro max 256 as you introduced it will cost around 1600 in the end? Have to pay Telstra the $ 766.6?

              • +1

@MONSTERMONSTER: Yes. Telstra will charge the cancellation fee. In JB HiFi store, you need to pay $99 upfront fee and $799 device cost.

            • @mjkwon74: Ahh so still overall about $1600 min… not so great anymore.

              • @EitherWayUp: It's for Pro Max. Its official price is over $2000.

                • @mjkwon74: Yeah I’m thinking it’s was $800 and that’s it for a Pro Max. I’ll wait for the 16 Pro Max.

    • Where did you find the termination cost for the plans? I couldn't see it in the doc.

    • Less for pro max if you pricematch amaysim

      • Are you saying you were able to get price match JB-Hi-Fi the Amaysim price? Was this just for the Pro Max or this can be done for any model such as the Pro?

        • Any model. Jb hifi price match other retailers

          • +1

@easternculture: 99% of stores won't price match Amaysim, unless you get really lucky. As same with Optus deals, Telstra deals etc. 99% of the time you'll have to have a service with that current provider.

            • @anonpapa: Can confirm, my dad just tried

But they did offer a $50 discount, which was nice

              • +1

@linkindan: tbh surprised they offered that, but hey wins a win!

                • +1

@anonpapa: I did tell him there’s a good chance they won’t match it, and definitely won’t beat it, but if you don’t ask you don’t get aha

He’s happy as he’s upgrading from an 11, I’m unhappy because our phones are now identical and mine is suddenly less cool

            • @anonpapa: I got them to price match westpac epp store when i bought my s230U

              • @easternculture: all depends on sales rep and how desperate they are for a sale that day lol, in this case probably won't happen due to the fact it's a discounted telstra plan

    • $766.66

Isn't Maximum Voucher Repayment Fee is $800?
Due to only 23 of 24 months $800?
If yes, first month portion is deducted even you cancel on the day you sign up, stay for 0 days?

      • +1

When you sign up, you need to pay $99 first upfront fee. So, your cancellation fee will be $800 x (23/24).

    • Good deal. But given can get an iPhone 15 pro 128gb for $1595 currently it’s not as great as some of the previous Telstra cancel deals have been.

  • What is the minimum price you could pay for a 15 pro with early cancellation?

    • +1

One comment above you has answered the qu :)

      • +1

Thanks mate, apparently I’m blind before having my morning coffee!

        • All good mate, made my barista coffee after posting this deal too :)

  • If on Boost currently is is possible to port out to say Optus and then port straight back in to the new JB Mobile plan?

    • Has to be for 1 month with another provider from what i remember

    • Previously I ported out from Boost to Aldi and ported in. It took just few minutes. But, I'm not sure JB Plan. You don't need to port out and in unless you want to keep $99 plan.

  • -5

Why do people lock themselves into plans like this

Buy the phone outright and get a Boost 12month SIM card. Much better value

    • +7

      iPhone 15 outright cost = $1487
iPhone 15 cost after cancelling this plan = $800

Lesson: it’s not always cheaper to buy outright :)

      • -5

Don’t you have to stay for 24 months?

        • +3

No the $800 is the cancellation fee which is the total cost for iPhone 15

          • @evasive: that would be awsome - can someone who has done this confirm.
in the past when i took jbhifi plans i was locked into paying out the remaining term mobile charges (plan).

        • +7

          Do people not read

      • I can salary sacrifice so outright is even cheaper and I don’t pay GST

        • +3

          Post math.

        • I am eligible too, but my boss has said no, like the money is coming out of her pocket.

    • company reimburses it

  • -4

Still cheaper buying upfront and hoping on a $30 or less (promos) month to month plan. And before you hit me with the “that’s a lot upfront”… alternative is a lot more long term.

    • If you’re planning to buy it upfront, wouldn’t this deal be cheaper since you can just cancel and pay the extra $800?

      • +5

Wait… I just re-read. Holy shit this is a good deal. I’m going JB now.

        • Hahaha that was me as I read through the deal, it does seem like a pretty good one.

        • Yeah, it's like the JB Hifi Ipad deal recently, basically you're getting a huge discount to the outright price and you only need to go through the sign up process. The plan and first month refund can be easily organised via chat on the JB Mobile app so you don't even need to call someone to sort stuff out

        • It’s still an excellent deal regardless. Your getting a fat $500 discount whichever Pro models you look either way

          • @BargainsGrabber: Ehh wait for 16 Pro. Waited long enough. $500 isn’t much for a phone plan on having 4 years.

            • @EitherWayUp: What 4 years? You can just cancel the plan immediately lol

              • +1

@BargainsGrabber: No. I mean I’m happy to pay $500 more for the upgraded model coming out in 2 months since I generally keep the phone for at least 4 years

  • If you're going to do this with the i15 for $800, do it now before JB changes their T&C on you.

    • +2

They won’t, this has been long running loophole

  • So the first step is to go in store and say I want the $99 plan?

    • +24

Well you have to find a salesperson first. You can’t just walk in and yell it like that.

      • +4

        "I declare bankruptcy!"

  • Is the $800 voucher repayment fee in the T&Cs?

    • +2

Yes, in the OP, the link to telstra Critical information summary, on the bottom of the table "Maximum Voucher Repayment Fee"

  • +1

Doesn’t seem to be as good for iPhone 15 Pro 256 or 512gb:

    2387-1300=1087

Can someone please clarify if $800 voucher fee is on top?

    • iPhone 15/Pro/Pro Max from $0/$449/$799 + $800

    • For IP15Pro 256GB $2037.
      $99 + $737 ($2037-$1300) + $766.66(Cancel) = $1602.66

      For 512GB $2387
      $99 + $1087 ($2387-$1300) + $766.66 = $1952.66

      $800 x (remaining months / 24)

  • is this offer for 1 per 1 customer?

    • +2

Nope, but consider other OzBargainers who would also want to sign up too :)

    • There is little to no hassle with this. It’s a super simple process. I’ve done it three times and scored an iPad and iPhone at ridiculously low prices

  • +1

I personally think $1000ish for 128gb pro would be a steal (aka iPad Air m2 got half priced from this similar deal as mentioned).
$1300+ is nice but NOT a no brainer unless you are in need at this moment.16 is coming in 2months I just hold to see what 16 is offering and we won’t be surprised to see further discount for 15series anyway.
