    • I was told today 16/07 (as purchasing and paying 1st $99.00 installment, that would continue to be charged on monthly basis on 16th as well.

  • Awesome deal.

Managed to pick up IP15 Pro 256gb with price match and $1,300 discount.

Telstra live chat said the refund is automatic because I’m cancelling the service and the first payment is still pending.

I’m not too confident that will be the case but at least I have the screenshots to dispute it.

  • Managed to get a 15 plus 256 GB yesterday, cancelled today by port out to another provider. Spoke to 3 reps via Telstra app chat, and promised to get the $99 refund. Found a payment of $99 pending, a credit of $99 pending and a payment of $766.59 owing. Paid $537 + $766.59 = $1303.59 if there is no surprising update of the owing amount. No regrets.

    • Did you activate the sim before cancelling it?

      • Yes, put the sim into the phone to receive SMS for porting out.

        • once you got number can cancel? not showing up my telstra account.

I just grab one right now.

          • @adn: If you message with Telstra chat, they will be able to see your plan.

  • I signed up and had to pay the usual $875ish ($99 + $766 cancellation fee) same as everyone else here. Had a friend go and also get it but he was charged a $799 cancellation fee. Has anyone else experienced this/know why this would’ve happened?

Those of us on older JB Telstra plans with a payment method get the $99 charged on the anniversary date. So if we cancel straight away then just a dollar or so of the voucher repayment fee is paid.

      • That makes sense. He’s on a telstra plan already and just created a new telstra number to take advantage of this deal. Thanks for clarifying

  • Is there any way to pay the $800 cancellation fee with Giftcards?

    • No

    • +3

      Wow.

    • What about cleaning the store?

  • On the road traveling towards the city. Two days away. No JB Hi Fi till I reach the city😢. Just leaving Coober Pedy.
How long till this offer ends?

    • +1

About five hours, foot to the floor

Can the cancellation fee be used for TRS?

  • Just went into a JB and tried to get the $0 handset fee on the iPhone 15 128gb. Salesforce refused to finalise the deal with Telstra on the final step. We tried 3 times. Others failed on this same step while we were in store. Apparently most people are failing today acccording to jb staff.

Had the same issue yesterday but the staff member updated the payment details on the account and then went and refilled in the application again and it worked.

    • My SA knew there was a bug. Input payment details through first then it went through without dramas .

    so - get a $1500 phone (15 not pro or max, 128GB, smallest size - https://www.apple.com/au/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-15/6.1-inch-…)

for $2400 if you pay over 24 months ? Where do I sign !?

that said - obvs aimed at people with nothing in the bank, but happy to use Afterpay or credit to buy shiny new things and experiences

quick calc - that's a 60% markup on Apple's price (others sell a bit cheaper), or like earning 26.5%pa on $1500 in the bank - a nice earner for JBHiFi - who by the way will not be paying $1500 for that iPhone … ;-)

    • +2

If you cancel on day one it's only $766.59 ;-)

Bro just ignored 3 pages of comments explaining the deal…

      • +1

and also the description and the T&c and the calculation, the list goes on…

so eventually bro after reading the title then asked a question. bravo.

  • Got my base model IPhone today. No luck with getting the $99 refunded through Telstra or JB hifi mobile.

    • I just did this and and had no issues. I just said I haven’t turned the phone and they said because the payment is pending it can be refunded as well. I was only getting it for the hand set so didn’t port in/out. This was with Telstra chat.

      • Mine is also still pending, what did you write as the reason to cancel the plan?

        • With no reason requested to cancel, no questions asked.

          • @qth37144: They asked for the reason why I wanted to cancel the plan.

Unfortunately will miss out on this deal. Does anyone know if these deals come by regularly? Looking to replace my old iphone. Thanks!

  • Guys I can't believe it… went in store yesterday and copped the iPhone 15 Pro Max for $1,403.59.

Price matched with Amazon and paid $637 to JB, then I cancelled the plan via Telstra app and they assured me they would refund the $99 and charged me the cancellation fee of $766.59.

Essentially got $800 off and paid less than the standard 15's rrp (128gb) for the 15 Pro Max (256gb)! 🤯

    • Lucky you not living in Canberra (friend tried all stores to get a pro 128gb but all said no price match all all)

  • +1

Just a note for anyone that was promised an automatic refund. If it doesn't show up as a CR $99 under Payment History within your Telstra Account, then you'll need to follow up with Telstra to actually process it.

    • Cheers. Spoke to live chat. They initially said no until I quoted the prior conversation. $99 refund to be processed within 5 business days 🙏

    • Good pick up. Hadn’t had the refund applied so reached out to live chat and resolved
