@jv: Fat fingers. Need them blackberry phones with them buttons.

      • +3

        That's a completely different phone.

No, it's in the deal link

It's the same $50 off selected phones offer from the same store.

These no need to post a separate deal for every phone that appears in the same deal…

        • +4

No one has posted every phone. If it follows ozb dupe rules and is a cheap deal, there's nothing wrong with it.

Reading that post properly would have made you know that there's 8 different stores and the Optus $9 phone is from Target which is not the same store as Gravitech

            • +4

@jv: If this nonsense is how you get your total comment count so high and become OzB top commenter, then enjoy.

              • -2

                @shxhshzhz:

                If this nonsense

It is a fact, not nonsense.

                Same discount code
                Same store
                Same products
                Same deal expiry date.

                = Same deal

                • +1

                  @jv: Same store 😂
Gravitech is not listed in the other posts desc or title so in fact not dupe

                  • @Bobthegamebuilder: The one in the link above says Sold and delivered by Mobileciti (Official AU Store), not Gravitech.

Same as the other earlier post link…

              • @shxhshzhz: He supports Collingwood.
                Meaning they’re most likely Italian
                Italian = yap yap yap
And if you disagree I’m Italian go cry about it

                • @Bobthegamebuilder:

                  Meaning they’re most likely Italian

                  That's Carlton supporters….

                  You are obviously from interstate…

                  • -1

                    @jv: I don’t like jv

                  • @jv: Incorrect actually. Both Collingwood and Carlton are mainly supported by Italians. This is due to the mass influx of European immigrants (most of these were Italian and Greek) into Australia after the war. These immigrants were forced to move into the poorer areas of Melbourne to start a new life there. These areas include Collingwood, Carlton and parts of Fitzroy, these inner city suburbs were full of the poorest of the poor and literal slums. This created many stereotypes and racial slurs around them, one of these being the stereotype that Collingwood supports have no or little teeth. However the reason Collingwood is particularly poor and therefore hated and stereotyped is due to its position closer to the Yarra. Today they don't really need to worry about it anymore but back when rainwater didn't go into storm-water drains but would flow downhill, sewage was free flowing, and rivers were more likely to flood this made it a far less desirable place to live. The type of place where you’d be squeezing ten people into a little terrace house, and Dad might work at the boot factory but most of the kids would still be barefoot.
So to answer your question. Yes I am from interstate, but hell am I educated.

                    • @Bobthegamebuilder:

Both Collingwood and Carlton are mainly supported by Italians.

                      Not true.

Most Italians support Carlton, that is where the Italian precinct is.

                      • @jv: There’s an Italian precinct in lutwyche yet most of the Italians live in chermside. Doesn’t really mean anything

                        • @Bobthegamebuilder: You’re obviously not from Melbourne so you don’t have a clue.

                          • @jv: I give up jv. Shxhshzhz was right. You only have top commenter for ur useless yap. There is no earthly way you can tell who someone is behind their ozbargain profile. Enjoy ur day

                            • @Bobthegamebuilder: Useless yap is the made up stuff you’re dishing out.

                              • @jv: As someone who has a degree in modern history and currently working at one of most prestigious high schools in qld i find that highly offensive. Jv I’d quite enjoy knowing what you study or your occupation. I don’t think you are quite in the position to make comments like that. Especially since I highly doubt you were living then anyways

                                • @Bobthegamebuilder:

Just wondering what do people use these phones for?

Also is there a type of sim where you can pick up calls only and won't ever expire? XD

    • +3

Just wondering what do people use these phones for?

      Making calls.

      • +10

Dont be absurd. A phone to make phone calls with. That will never catch on.

      • receiving calls?

        • +4

bb22 had a good comment, grab a amaysim 365 sim for $10, and receive calls for a year.

      Amaysim

      • Thank you!

      • +5

I don't use for calls but mostly for receiving 2FA SMS and notifications for stuff I have no interest pinging my main phone with (which already has dual sims doing shared duty), or for sites/people I don't trust remotely to keep my personal data safe or not bug me.

It's great having a "junk number" isolated to a separate device that you can comfortably give to anybody.

      • +1

Grab a (nearly) FREE Amaysim in Cashback Deals!
        Turn off auto-renew!!

Automatically converts to 365d PAYG SIM for FREE incoming calls & SMS after 28d plan expires.

Receive email before end of year, to add $10 if you want another year. Or just get new Deal.

        • Wow! Is that true? Is it only amaysim?

          • @chinaman: Been using Amaysim for this reason for years. Most SIMs expire within 6 months, not Amaysim!

Current eSIM (64GB 28d, cost 30c in cashback Deal), shows 1c credit expiring in that year. Has lasted 18 months.

So after plan expires in few days, my PAYG balance is 1c - not enough to make call, but can receive calls & SMS for at least a year.

Handy for using number to get Deals😉

@WasBargain: Pulls out Nokia 110 4G from back pocket and speed dials scotty

        • To fund my many habits like buying first and thinking later? 😅

    • +3

Sims always expire. The cheapest way to pick up calls only is Lebara PAYG, $7 for the first year.

      • -1

Ah but at this price you may have to unlock the device first

        • +2

          It's an unlocked AU model.

      • +1

Thank you! Asking cause one of our family doesn't use smart phones and doesn't make calls.

    • +4

Some oldies have 3G phones and need a cheap replacement. This is one of them.

  • +2

    Bargain

  • +1

USB C if the nokia 110 has it that would be great.

    • Nokia 110 has micro usb to reflect on history like the rest of the phone

      • +4

Pretty disappointing they didn't go with a micro barrel jack instead, it just doesn't feel authentic without it.

    • +1

Nokia 215 is USB-C. Not in this ideal though unfortunately.

      • +1

Not in this ideal though unfortunately.

Quite the contrary, it is ideal. Not in this deal, unfortunately.

  • +18

Bought this to threaten my kids with if they misbehave.

    • +1

      Genius!

    • Going to use that one!

    • +1

kids would rather eat gravel than use this feature phone

      • Your kids could bludgeon you with it.

      • +1

TBF, so would most people I know (myself included)

    • Outstanding!

    • at least its unbreakable hopefully like my first nokia 3315

  • How is this a dupe? It's not included anywhere in the coupon post

    • JV has pressed the wrong hotkey.

      • He was supposed to swipe right on grindr but the app crashed while ozbargain was in the background and he swiped the report dupe button instead. I guess he got a little too excited

    • -6

      How is this a dupe?

It's the 2nd phone that is part of the deal post…

      https://www.catch.com.au/event/catch-connect-offer-50-off-ph…

There is no need to post a separate deal for every phone in that post… Suck it up princess…

  • +7

Got these free from expired HN Deal
Was also free from JB Deal
    (Both with 3G trade in)

Downside: Tiny screen, keyboard input, hard to navigate, useless camera, Bluetooth only for headphones, no hotspot…

Upside: dual 4G SIM, comes with 8GB memory card, FM radio that works through speaker, USB charger

Found it totally frustrating to use after a decade of smart phone😝

Only use seems to be as a phone on 4G network. Therefore good battery life.

Gave away to elderly person whose 3G phone will soon be useless.

    • +2

I also got this for free from HN. One big downside is No Wifi if that matters to you

      • No wifi means the perfect burner phone to take on runs

    • Darn it, how did I miss these 2 deals :(

      • +2

        Because ilovefullprice🤣

        • Oh pls, don’t be another jv bruh…

          • @ilovefullprice: What?
            I didn't even use jv® Bold😄

(In Top Commenter stats, am merely #8 - 1/4 of #1 jv. Have no intention of catching up😉)

  • -2

    eSIM?

    • +1

      Lol🤣
It doesn't even have basic features like touch screen, Bluetooth (except for headphone use), hotspot or Wi-Fi.
      But takes dual 4G nanoSIMs.
Plus 8GB memory card, & FM radio that works through speaker📻

      • +1

All oldies need is something that can send and receive voice calls, and receive SMSes … if you have have access to a PC or laptop with an internet connection. Without that though you need a full smartphone for online banking, making appointments online, paying bills, contacting MyGov, online shopping and so on.

Living a pure analog life in Western countries is becoming next to impossible. Soon we won't even have physical money.

At $30 is is a bargain is you only need a basic 4G Phone. At $80 though, one would be better upgrading to a $200 Motorola.

        • +1

Have trained people about 90 in care to use smart phones. (They had no access to PC.)
Major use is to keep in contact with family using video.
Easy with smart phone. This would not suit them.

Was FREE with 3G trade in

          Wouldn't recommend @$29. Especially for elderly…
Screen is tiny - hard enough to read input & select contacts with good eyesight👀 Forget about the camera - too difficult to find & view those low res photos!

Gave mine to elderly friend who's phone was about to lose 3G service. Hope they don't hate me!

Bought the 5G Moto G54 with eSIM @$135 for my use for backup mobile for travel.

      • I understand your position, but I disagree: touch screen, Bluetooth for non-headphone use, hotspot, and WiFi are not the basic features. Basic features are calls, text, and MMS. eSIM is a basic feature here as it enables the use of calls, text, and MMS.

          • -1

            @INFIDEL:

All that is already enabled via SIM slots in this basic phone! (originally released 3 year ago)

I did not mention dual SIM. I mentioned eSIM. When travelling, it is often impossible to get a physical SIM without going to a physical store. eSIM allows you to purchase a service while overseas, arrive in another country, and have the service straight away.

            • @alpln: It has no eSIM, so pointless discussing it!

  • These were free from JB, if one had an old 3g phone

    • Got one for free from HN by swapping an ancient phone that doesnt turn on

      • +1

Yeah i did the same, had an ancient Telstra locked 3g keyphone
