Peanut butter flavour is elite
Facts.
i'll have to give that a go tomorrow. thanks mate
What are the new flavoUrs?
Still can't believe normal price is $12 now for this. I think the normal price is only so they can put it on sale at the old price.
The CafeGrande is the best one and I won't hear different.
Basically all Coles and Woolworths pricing is done this way
Well the workers at Peter's were part of the dairy 5% wage increase in Vic every year for the next 3 years when they had their strikes at the end of last year as well as the wage increases for their delivery drivers. That wage hike is getting passed on now…
They have been increasing in price steadily for the past 4 or 5 years.
I don't mind a 5% rise. This icecream had gone up 100% in 3years. Sure it used to be $6 each in 2021.
Yep I work for a distributor (IT dept) into Coles and Woolies and that's precisely how it works, it is up to the brand to have promotions and fund them, how many promotions is also set by Colesworth, this means the brands will put a higher normal price rather than say $8 all year round.. This way they can try and even out between sale prices and occasional full price purchases. This is also the same thing in the laundry isle where they have ridiculous prices like $30+.
Aldi is different in that the price is set in between or a bit lower but typically no sales unless being cleared out. You also don't pay for the brand marketing even though lots of the products in aldi are the same manufacturers as the popular brands in Colesworth… It's more economical to split your staple purchases and get those from aldi and whatever other stuff you need that's on sale from Colesworth.
Is this better than salty caramel?
I wish they had a tub version of the blood orange sticks 😩
100% agree, the choc blood orange flavour in a 1L tub would be awesome. The café grande in the tub is my favourite flavour though. The Hazelnut and Murray River salted caramel was good when they first introduced it many years back, it used to be loaded with caramel sauce from top to bottom, but they have cheapened it down now.
I feel like these have gone down considerably in quality. Used to look forward to the half price specials to stock up but now I get maybe one or two tubs a year.
Was glad they brought back the Matcha flavour but after trying it it’s not as good as it was, used to have waffle pieces throughout but now it’s shredded white chocolate. Pass.I never thought it was that great. Fake premium IMO. But certainly everything has changed for the worse, meanwhile prices skyrocket. Nothing tastes the same anymore..
yes, cafe grande is sh it now. very sad.
This could work well with this deal now.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854189I LOVE the jam donut.
lol its so underated that someone negged you for it
You bastards are trying to kill me, one litre at a time.
The new range is all a bit same same. Almost all just caramel, nuts, brownie or similar. It's quite an uninspired collection
Personally, I wish they would stop changing it. My favourite flavours have gone.
I've found the Kapiti Vanilla way better than the Connoisseur version - something's changed in the last few years and the Con Vanilla has become way too fatty, so it leaves a really unpleasant greasy mouth feel.
The OTHER benefit is that the Kapiti one is cheap every day.Agree with the greasy film in mouth.
Kapiti the fat content is butter fat which is why it's delicious and healthier. Corner cutting ice creams will use garbage vegetable oils because it's cheaper… that is the feeling in the mouth. Like frozen margarine, some GM canola or sunflower sludge. These cheap n nasty ice creams such as the one in the post are marketed as if they are a premium product (which they previously might have been) yet are total junk, texturised with vegetable gums such as guar gum https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9194036/ which increase bowel inflammation and hence increase all ailments,
Personally I don't get excited about half price anything simply because the supermarkets think we won't notice them doubling or tripling the prices on everything and then offering some specials. Have you seen the laundry detergent prices? Olive oil. Supplements. It's a tacky strategy and Aussies need to sharpen up and boycott that BS to force some more honest prices.
Does anyone know what ever happened to Chocolate Obsession flavour, it was the best ever, and replaced by some average chocolate flavours nowadays.
What is the best flavour. Any recommendations?
The raspberry with white chocolate is sublime!
I never paid more than $6, use it as an excuse to stay “healthier”.
Is the jam doughnut flavour any good?
yall eating ice cream in this weather ?
