I haven't tried it yet
It's awesome. I already ate two Maccha flavoured tubs and now on the third one.
:)Dinner for one sorted for 3 nights, nice!
;) buy up…….
Eastier said than done - it's the flavour that always sells out at my local woolies.
Kinda wish they didn't put the white chocolate bits in it. The matcha is good on its own.
thats what annoys me about it as well, you can stick get the matcha icecream on a stick, has no white chocolate bits in it.
I love the chunks! haha
This is the best flavour
This flavour is the reason why I love Connoisseur Ice Cream <3
As well as Oreo!
Really good flavour. Not overly sweet compared other ice cream flavours.
does htis have that really bitter taste to it, they way tradtional green tea ice cream should be?
Nope, I was pretty disappointed. It's like a vanilla ice cream with a hint of matcha.
edit: if you ever had matcha flavoured milktea, it's more on the milky side.
Yeah, I'm not super impressed by the intensity of the matcha flavour either. I wish they made it stronger and a bit more bitter.
Same l. I love a strong Matcha taste which this is sadly lacking.
Same!! I was surprised people love it. It's nowhere near matcha enough for me :((
What kururii said is spot on, vanilla with a hint of matcha.
I sprinkled some Matcha powder on mine and also bought some red bean (anko) paste to go along with it.
This. There's barely any hint of matcha in this, it's just 98% vanilla. Someone else said this ice cream wasn't overpoweringly sweet, but to me it is. It's basically a green tea ice cream for people who hate green tea.
Ahhh.. I feel that it's more suited to the Aussie pallate.
More sugary and less bitter
Matcha isn't meant to be really bitter. If your matcha product is overly bitter, it means low-grade matcha powder was used. I make my own matcha ice cream with culinary-grade matcha - it is a very smooth taste.
Real real matcha, not the powder stuff is super bitter. Almost unbearable for some.
High grade matcha powder is quite bitter by itself
not the powder stuff
The leaf is always ground into powder for consumption. That's what matcha (the word) means - ground tea. What do you mean here??
High grade matcha powder is quite bitter by itself
Not in my experience. I drink 'ceremonial' grade and it has a very pleasant taste. I have been drinking matcha for many years and only the low quality stuff has that bitter taste many people identify as "matcha".
The ceremonial stuff. It's very bitter.
Obviously not a drink you drink at home for pleasure unless you love triple espressos
@hellohello123: What ceremonial-grade do you drink that is "very bitter"? I'm genuinely curious if you got scammed. Perhaps you just don't like the taste of matcha.
I consume it on a regular basis. It isn't even anywhere close to the bitterness of a single espresso shot, let alone three…
@khell:
I love matcha for the record.I'm referring to the real stuff. The ones they serve at tea houses.
Obviously I was exaggerating about the triple espressoIf you get raw just grounded matcha powder with no fillers or sugar.
It's actually fairly bitter. But everyone has different preferencesEg I csnt stand sake. Even the expensive stuff
@hellohello123: Of course I was referring to the 'raw' powder. Let's agree to disagree. :)
Deals don't get matcha sweeter than this.
I tried this and the matcha flavour is very weak. Can barely taste it. Always get chocolate flavour when it's half price
Healthy low calories and tasty
Healthy low calories
you sure?
Coconut and the Mint-Chocolate are high up there too!
the 2 flavors i dislike most of this range.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Love those flavours, the mint is great in contrast to the warmer flavours.
Honey Macadamia or nothing. Why not put all the flavors on special like IGA who had it for $4.50 lately
Since when is the full price of a tub is $10?????
Sept 2017
Wow, Price Matcha ice cream! Does this help you get better deals at Officeworks?
Half price matcha
Hi I would like to price Matching matcha please
got the ice cream sticks a couple of months ago, and 3 of 4 are still sitting in the fridge. Nothing tasty, as someone above mentioned more on the milky side. Not buying this again!!
this was half price last week as well but none of the others in the line. Maybe they trying to clear it out, glad i'm not the only person who didn't like it.
Buy vanilla flavour.
Buy matcha powder from asian stores
Profit???That's exactly what I've been doing. Stronger matcha favour and bonus of no white chocolate bits!
My favourite flavour. Thanks!
Yeah dont really like this version of green tea, the cone bits also taste weird. The Hagen Dasz one taste better imo and more like the traditional one. But they are really expensive for a small tub at 7 Eleven
In my opinion this is the worst flavour offered by Connoisseur, and not because I don't like matcha. It tastes nothing like real matcha ice cream, is overly creamy, and finally ruined by the macadamia nuts. I bought two tubs on special awhile ago thinking I finally wouldn't need to make my own and both tubs are still unfinished in the freezer.
Hopefully this means they're removing the white choc bits. Yummo
People liked it, then got sick of it.
Woolies have too much, so pre-empted an upcoming promotion
But in a few days, all flavours will be $5
[Marketing Hi-jack]
I don't like this flavour at all, it tastes a bit fishy to me. I have some matcha in the house (not fancy grade, T2, which is good enough for me) and they taste nothing like each other.
This flavour is being removed from their range of tub ice creams as it is no longer featured on the Connoisseur website.
http://www.connoisseuricecream.com.au/tubs/oh well, next best: caramel macadamia
When Bronwes dairy owned it, they made all natural ice cream and it was amazing. After they got bought out by the big boys, the all natural label came off and it has never been the same. I think full price was $6 back then.
I gotta price matcha to get this deal?
How to check which store has it?
Beware Sydney woolly price is still 10, scanned at 7, and the staffs refuse to reduce to 5 unless you fight hard.
Really? Which woolies? Saw it marked down to $5 at Hurstville and Miranda.
In the 3rd week, they still can't clear it.
Got a couple tonight, hopefully it's good
Good deal but I hope this doesn't mean they're going to discontinue this flavour!
