If you're like me and have been waiting for these to go back to $6 after hovering at $8 for months then our time is finally here.

Full price used to be around $8-$9 from memory. Damn you inflation!
I remember when you could get 8 pieces of liquorice for a penny
I remember when you could get decent inhouse brand equivalents for $5 full price until the Lismore factory flooded 😢
Hopefully some reprieve on the way
https://amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/jul/14/flood…Freckles were 10 for a penny or 4 for a halfpenny
Actually, I heard the cows formed a union and demanded a pay rise.
Lol not far of the farmers did though
Inflation has been hitting hard. At least I have an excuse to not buy some junk food anymore
I haven't purchased it since the price rise to $5.50!
Great price on Ice Cream now need to find deal for chest freezer.
Aldi's ice cream is pretty good and it's always $4.99
Yeah, I rate their vanilla with connoisseur, but they don't seem to have it any more, only cookies and cream or mint.
They have salted caramel fudge and creme burlee (more like hokey pokey flavor) and both are delicious. They have a sticker that says for a limited time only.
It varies by store but yes Vanilla is good. Mint less so but still okay.
Well Connoisseur don’t even put vanilla in their vanilla ice cream. So you don’t have to try hard to match that.
I like Hinterland. But unfortunately they’re not half price.
I noticed that at my local Aldi and one of the staff told me that they are struggling to get it (Covid/Ukraine/Staff/Supply chain - take your pick)
My Aldi's been cleaned out of most flavours for months now :(
Been wanting to buy their vanilla again as well.
A major icecream factory in Lismore flooded. Not sure if it was the producer of the Aldi icecream but many brands have been effected by it.
The Coles branded ice cream was made there too and has been taken off the shelves.
@dust: Ohhh wow that explains it. I really enjoy the vanilla, I've seen it in stores recently; the price went up to $6.50 but it's worth it to me.
I threw away the one i had gotten. was terrible, wont buy anymore.
I found the Woolworths vanilla ice cream was comparatively good too and its always $5. But could never find the stock anymore, they probably stopped selling it..
I swear it's always on 'special' at $6 these days. :(
$4.99 > $5.50 > $6 > ????
your move RBA
This is mathematically incorrect.
This is ozbargainer correct for reflecting the price stages of connoisseur specials over recent years.

I bought 5 liter golden north vanilla ice cream from Coles yesterday for $9.
Good old Golden North.
Love their honey icecream.
When did it sneak up to $12 per tub? Inflation or Coles & Woolies increasing their margin under the disguise of inflation?
Idk, I first noticed it at $11 in 2020? Then the rise to $12 was this year.
Are Colesworth’s profits rising faster than inflation?
I’m a bit over connoisseur. I think the quality has gone down. Less chunks of goodies or sauce inside.
What's your go to now?
connoisseur belgian chocolate is hard to beat litres per $ at this price ….only better ice chocolate ice cream is hagen das when on special ….made in france ……
Nothing compares to Hagen dasz for quality and lots of goodies. But only at half price. It’s worth the extra $ imo.
Matcha Green Tea With White Choc - my favourite and only at Coles ❤️
i found it too sweet, prefer the authentic stuff from asian supermarkets
I never knew Connoisseur was made by Peters!
Surprised too when I compare the normal Peter's and connoseur one
Who did you think made it?
Thought it was a stand-alone brand. Probably being naive.
The Barossa valley wine one was pretty good
Wasn’t it $4.5 at half price before ?
In 2011 maybe? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/38692
Otherwise it was at $5 for quite a while until Nov 2019: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/497165
The only Vanilla bean ice cream i actually liked was the woolworths homebrand one. Was fantastic (didnt really try the other flavours). Seems like they dont do that range anymore though. Have not found an adequate substitute yet either despite trying a few.
Ditto.. the woolworth's one was good.
The only decent ice cream available in Aus. I tried a brand called 'Amul' when I went to India and Ice cream here never tasted the same. What we eat in the name of ice cream is just pure crap.
Wonder why you got a neg for speaking your mind. Amul, if you translate our $$ into INR, is also much cheaper in guessing?
Wiki says that Amul is an "Indian dairy state government cooperative society". Pretty darn good if the government is running it.
People can be sometimes …… you know and to answer your question yes it is cheaper. Amul is basically run by a co-operative society which was born out of India's green revolution as per the little research that I did about the brand. We(or at least I) would be in for a treat if they decide to expand to Australia but I doubt they have any plans of expanding their business to other countries.
aldi vanilla bean is miles better
so the price is further increased then.
Yessss, best strawberry ice cream around!
woolworths sell these at $9 on sale, coles is really becoming the cheaper choice for me. it was only like $5 sale last year what is this madness!
Woolworths would also sell it at $6 when this goes on half price. Woolies and coles are pretty much the same when it comes to pricing of almost all the products expect their home brand products
yum!!! thanks for posting - gotta stock up now
I miss when half price was $5 :(
