    Switch to Superloop

    Nah…

  • +7

Good offer if you are happy to sell your details but superloop has dropped the ball since their membership push.

    • +1

In what way? I've been with them for several years and have always had great customer service.
Ok perhaps not quite so good. On the phone to them now and sounds like I'm talking to someone in an overseas call centre. When they were Nuskope they were much better and always got Aussies to talk to. Fortunately I hardly ever have to ring about any issues.

  • +4

Customer service is worse than Optus so if you know you know.

    • +2

      100% agree with this.
Got promised a pro-rata for cancelling early and still chasing this.
Their international links are good, but customer support is the worst.
Didn’t notice and congestion which was nice but prob won’t be back.

  • +19

Beware the 30 days notice period.

    • +1

Yep, hidden away in the T&C's

    • +2

Haha yep got bitten by this.
Their accounts can pro-rata if you complain heavily, but take this from someone who is still chasing payment.

  • just swapped for 99$ cash back

  • +3

Just bumped their prices up. First time I contacted them, brilliant service. Next time the person didn't know what NAS storage is, even after explaining. And then clearly guessed what my problem was but acted as if it was fact. And also laughed throughout the phone call at what I can only assume was something another co-worker was doing in the background.

  • +4

Used superloop for 6 months on opticomm service and never had any issues with the internet. Always gave me around 108/19mbps on 100/20 plan throughout the day and night.

  • +6

PSA - Superloop T&C's. Incredulous definition of 'any time' here:

    Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your Superloop nbn Home Broadband Service at
any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice.

    • Which ISP's don't need notice?
JIC I need to churn from Leaptel

      • Aussie?

  • +5

Thanks for dogging your loyal customers and increasing prices while you serenade your new customers.

    -_-

    never again

  • +3

You can find people who hate every RSP. Bottom line is Superloop is not the best, but it's above average.

    • +9

Leave at "anytime with 30 days notice" is simply there to restrict and confuse churns to other RSP's. Poor form.

      • Very weird to downvote my opinion. I'm not downvoting yours.

    • +2

I'll elaborate on why I think Superloop is above average:

      • I think it's not as good as Aussie Broadband, which is the most premium service imho, however it costs less than Aussie.
      • They post CVC graphs and their network is decent.
      • The friend referral discount is pretty good.
      • You can opt out of CGNAT in the member portal, and you can also double your speed for 5 days per month without charge.
      • I have found their support helpful, I didn't get a runaround from an overseas service desk. Although, it was them that broke my service in the first place, so that's a neutral.
      • The 30 day thing sucks for honest people, but I used to work for an unrelated RSP, and they had a lot of new customers blocking their CC / reversing the charge and abusing the instant churn. There are so many RSPs now, enough that you can perpetually churn without ever paying, so this probably has to happen industry wide, unfortunately.

Just my opinions as a customer for four years. Again, they are not the best but you can certainly do worse.

      • +1

        Dodo enters the chat…

      • The friend referral discount is pretty good

Just realized I never got the refer-a-friend referral credit. Damn. I guess too late now since I'm jumping ship next month (not willing to pay $95/month for 100/40).

Generally had good experience with Superloop. Except that there were times they missed notifying me of planned NBN outage, or when I'd get disconnections that seem to auto-fix after a few minutes, or sometimes would require a modem restart.

      • Hold on… You can double your speed for 5 days for free? Is this in the customer portal?

  • +3

I’m leaving them because of the price increase.

    • Where r u going? Thinking of doing the same

      • I went to Pronto Broadband, they're a superloop reseller but somehow cheaper than superloop.

    • I haven't tried, but do you think they could do a deal for you? I'm going to try at some point.

  • Can it be clubbed with sb cashback?

    • Hey Alpha-q unfortunately, this offer cannot be clubbed with a cashback offer.

  • +5

They're desperate after so many people left recently, including long-time customers like me.

Something happened to Superloop… at some point they became…. a-holes? I'm glad to be out of there. They stuffed up my account more than once over the time I was with them.

  • +2

I signed up in january with the woowlrths egift card promo and still haven'et received the card.

    • Hey sydboy007, kindly share your reference number to track your application.

  • Do we need to change router every time we move from one provider to another? I've been with Optus for years but I want to change and have to get a new router would defeat the advantages of lower monthly fees

    • +1

Hey Laziofogna, No it's not necessary to get a new modem every time, Customers can use the same modem itself but they need to check with their current provider if the modem is unlocked and can be used by other providers.

  • With Superloop now, not particularly happy with them any more, what's the current recommendation for a better ISP?

    • Because of price or performance?

      • +2

Price and support. Network performance is still good but I've had to call them a few times because of NBN infrastructure-related issues, involved a lot of time on hold and answering stupid questions.

        • I gave up after having like almost a week of random outages last time and went to Telstra because of the free 4g failover.

    • +1

If you're a CBA customer, More Telecom. That's what I am looking at anyway.. churning in next week

      • I’ve just done it. No issues after a weekend of streaming and WFH today

      • What modem/router do you have for churning? I see risk in many ISPs and don't want to have to keep forking out modem costs if/when it doesn't work out.

        • I'm on HFC. Using Asus AX1800 router currently.

      • Not with CBA unfortunately

        • Exetel seems cheap. Can't comment on service.

      • But that offer is only for 12 months with More Telecom. What happens after 12 months expire?

        • +1

Find the best deal available by then, then switch. Repeat.

At the rate things are going, it looks like loyalty does not pay.

  • +3

I've signed up via Econnex twice, last one was Superloop in August. Got my gift cards both times. Couldn't care less about my details as it's already been breached so many times.

  • +1

I am very happy with them . So far I have used Superloop at 3 different places while I was renting . Never had a problem and the connection was stable all the time.
Also, the free upgrade to the next speed tier ( for 24 hours , 5 times per billing cycle , upto 30 days accumulated ) is another win.
You can activate free upgrade from the web portal or the mobile app and it will be activated within 10-15 minutes . You can schedule it as well .
    Highly recommended !!

  • My address doesn't come up with econnex address searcher but comes up on superloop website. How can I get this deal?

    • Hey Sogai, Kindly DM us your address to check from our end.

  • If I have two properties, am I eligible for 2 x $100?

    • Hey phoenix17, yes you will be eligible for 2x $100 if you have 2 separate properties. Please make sure you use https://www.econnex.com.au/ozbargain-superloop link only so that both applications are correctly tagged.

      • I signed up but no confirmation from superloop. Why not?

    • I ordered yesterday and got connected for one of my properties, churn from Leaptel went smoothly. Strangely, however, this morning I received a cancellation email with no explanation, I never requested a cancellation. Called CS and they said it was a mistake and there was no cancellation pending on their end?? Superconfused..

  • Love superloop

  • Sadge, I literally placed an order for superloop yesterday :(

  • I am with leaptel, and just been invoiced for the next month - do I need to give a certain amount of notice to them first, or can I just order with econnex for SL to port over on the last day of the current billing period?

    • In case others are in a similar situation, I spoke with Leaptel and advised them when I was porting out , as this is before the next invoice issue date they have made the cancellation effective one day before the next invoice is issued.

  • Im trying to register with this. Why I have this New Development Fee for $300?

    • Hey MurahMeriahOy, kindly DM us your address, so that we can check from our end.

  • Why does your OTP rarely work? I've switched with you guys a few times and it's always such a pain, takes a good few tries over multiple sessions to just get a code.

  • Econnex is a mess!

  • How many days you have to keep internet to be eligible for giftcard?

    • Hie hardik1us, When the request for a switch or connection cannot be completed, is unsuccessful, or a request is made for the cancellation of your Broadband Plan within the first 45 days from the date of activation, you will not be eligible to receive any Card.

In simple words, you must stay connected with your retailer for 45 days to be eligible for the gift card.

      • Thanks for quick reply… so it seems like you have to keep it for atleast 3 months or 90 days, because as per above condition you can not request cancellation until 45 days and Superloop requires 30 days notice for cancellation.

      • @manyo I want to sign up this deal, but my current promo plan expires on 27/07/24. Econnex say this deal has to be signed up by 28/06/24, how can I switch?

Is it possible to get apply through Econnex now and get connected with super loop later?

        • Hie powerful9990, as per terms and conditions, your Broadband Plan must be activated within 30 days from the date of application. Yes, you may apply through Econnex now and connect with Super Loop later.

  • I was about to sign up to Superloop and thought "I'll just check Ozbargain first". (My Aussie post 100/40 plan is about to expire)

    I'm glad I did!

I've proceeded with an application weighing up the comments about customer service levels at Superloop, but having been with some of the worst service providers before (Belong, Netspace and Telstra for example) I'm not sure Superloop could be any worse than those.

I never want to interact with an ISP unless they have done something wrong or there is major and lengthy issue with the service.

I've signed up to the 1000/50 connection, because I spend more time watching streams than I work in my day job. Plus if my budget can afford the extra coins over the 100/40 plans I've had in the past, why not splurge a little.

Wish me luck with the service. I hope I wont need it ;)

    Thanks for the deal Econnex!

  • Hi if i sign up to an Opticom service does this promotion still apply?

    • Hie Selka, yes you may sign up for an Opticom service, this promotion will still be applicable.

  • Dodgy Econnex! said that the promotion will be valid until 28/06/2024 and it's 10:53 pm and they have took down their page and you can't sign up anymore.

GL to all who signed up via this dodgy Econnex.
