NBN50 $49/Month (First 6 Months) Then $75/Month Ongoing @ Pronto Broadband

741

Typical evening download/upload speed 22/4 Mbps
NBN speed tier nbn 25/10 AUD 39 first 5 months

Typical evening download/upload speed 48/17 Mbps
NBN speed tier nbn50/20 AUD 49 first 6 months

It is great to spot NBN 50 under 50 initially. It is the cheapest that I could find at the moment.

Note: I don't know how long would the deal last.

  • Anyone had any experience with these guys? I saw their ad on facebook and thought it was some sort of scam.

    • I saw this on Facebook ad too, that's why I post it here.

  • NBN 1000 plans are full price, seems risky for an a vendor that isn’t even known.

Cheap Superloop reseller. Selling at a loss for now. Fun to try but if you need internet then maybe pay few extra $ to an established company.

https://opengovau.com/company/667416079 “Office” is shared with other businesses. So probably run by a single guy from his home.

Legal firm at same address. So probably registered as the legal address for a few companies. Can also see co-op and LGBT support firm registered at same address.

His name is Jeffrey by any chance ?

I can only imagine calling Helpdesk.

Hello LGBT Law Co-op and Pronto Helpdesk, please press 1 for Jeff.

@[Deactivated]: Their whole FAQ section is copy pasted from accord, including their phone numbers and references to call office works for payments.

@internet-stranger: I went with Spintel, these guys are super cheap, so is there helpdesk, they were port blocking my emails, they were accusing me of the issue, 10 days later they admitted and apologized.
I know I am getting the best deal, but I don't know if it was worth all the headaches.
My point being, imagine going with this cowboy and paying full price only to get worse service than I have?

Personally I am a little suss on the OP's account which was made 3 days ago.
    Is it a shill account?

    • +6

I flagged it as sockpuppet but was rejected. Seems very sus to me.

    • +2

I don't know we have to wait for a year to post

      • Don’t have to wait a year. But people are always sus when a new account posts a deal for an unknown company :)

      • +1

Huh, your account is 3 days old.

EDIT, is your brothers name Tim by chance?

        • +3

I have been using this site for around six months and I don't see the necessity to create an account.

Then I think it should be great to contribute this community.

And my first post did attract a lot of detectives that would like to know my family tree.

My name is Tam and I am not associated with any company.

          • +1

            @jeffreytam: Hi Tam, welcome :)
Hopping your next deal gets a less critical response.
Are you using Pronto? Are they any good?

            • @internet-stranger: I'm wondering how he found the deal

              Was it:

              • Referral
              • Email
              • Google
              • Bus signage
              • Magazine
              • Worker discount
            • +2

@internet-stranger: The thing is most of deal are already found in here already.

I am not. I just ordered 2 months of Tangerine free 300 GB free SIM via my 5G router.

Then may consider NBN 50 and see which one is the cheapest and see if the deal is still there.

I saw this deal in Facebook ad as I extensively search NBN service recently.

              • @jeffreytam: Yeah FB seems the place to search for NBN deals for sure.

                  • @jeffreytam: How would you know how FB advertising works unless you actually use them yourself?
I don't use FB so don't need to know how they work.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Do we need to know how the piston engine works before we drive?

of course not. But I am aware how my privacy and data works in Facebook or Instagram.

I would rather not "for sure" mocking someone don't know about piston engine when I have no idea what a car is.

                      • -2

@jeffreytam: Why are you bringing up pistons for when I don't use FB?

              • @jeffreytam: Lets us know if you have used their service

          • @jeffreytam:

            My name is Tam

            So you are not jeffrey?

@HolyCr4p: You can call me whatever holy name you like :)

            • @HolyCr4p: No his brother is Tim.

  • I saw their ad few days ago on Google, was thinking of giving them a try as my exetel 6 month promotion period expires next week. Exetel's retention team wasn't able to match 35% off CBA plus on More. Looking at the comments above seems I'll skip it. There is $65 flip 100/20 Mbps deal through Finder I think that's also worth trying if someone doesn't have CBA code.

  • Thanks, my AGL NBN50 $49/m promotion is ending this month.
    Will give it a try.

    • Just connected today.
      Speed at 10AM: 49.8Mbps/17.1Mbps 9ms ping
      so far so good.

      • Thanks for that.

Tell us the speed during the 7pm-9pm peak.

        • +1

          Speed at 8PM: 51.7Mbps/18.7Mbps 9ms ping

          • @AsukaST: When you signup, were you able to nominate a date and time to churn over?

              • @AsukaST: Did you get charged immediately or closer to the connection date ?

                • @HardQuiz: An invoice is sent out on every 1st day of the month, with a due date on the 18th day of the month.

However, for the first calendar month, say you connect your service on 27/6,
you will be charged at regular price for 27/6-30/6, the 6 months discount applies from 1/7,
and 27/6-31/7 will be billed on 1/8 with a due date on 18/8.

So the best day to connect your service is always the last day of the month.

  • +4

FYI. Same as Exetel, says: "We require 30 days notice if you wish to cancel your service." https://prontobroadband.com.au/pdf/sales-critical-informatio…

    • +5

FYI, login to their online portal and you will find a "cancel plan" button under "Plan".
you may select your cancellation date from there.
I am planning to cancel it after the 6 months promotion period.
Best to set up a reminder on Google calendar.

  • There are currently no available service at your address.
If you register your details below, we'll contact you when the nbn™ is ready at your place. WTF ????

  • So far so good, signed up at 10:04pm and connected by 10:13pm :)

  • My experience with these guys wasn't so smooth - almost the whole day with no internet, it just couldn't establish the connection.
They were telling me to reset my router (it didn't help) despite the fact it was just working fine with my previous provider (exetel). In the end they found a problem on their side and fixed it. Hope you're more lucky.

    • What kind of nbn connection?

      • +1

        FTTP

  • Review of this NBN reseller, took about 3 days in total after signing up, Meaning, it should of been connected Thursday. I was told it was PPOE on a Friday afternoon yet didn't work as they didn't provide the logon details as it had to be automatically sent out on the back end system, yet dynamic IP worked for Friday night and Saturday. Finally they sent me the PPPOE logon details Saturday.
100/20 plan, 13.2mb/second peak for most times and some during peak night times down to 8-9mb/second from Steam, Epic but mostly 10-13mb/second.
Over the highway, a mate has 100/20 and gets 11.xmb/second peak for most times with TPG. Yeah we're trying to figure out if its a length to node, copper cable length, etc.
In summary, anyone who signs up, they tell you its connected with the mac address and serial number, try dynamic IP.

    • Which NBN connection type is your place?

      • +1

        @ZRMX its the FTTC type

FTTP is available but too lazy to organize.

  • Weird the price goes up when I click sign up :( anyone got any idea? Is the discount applied at the end of the signup process?

    • Same for me; when you click on 100 @ $89 it’ll show as $59 in the order summary.

      • Order summary? U mean the one that confirms all your order details at the end of the process after filling your personal info?

        • after selecting your option (clicking button) it shows up as a bar on the right of the screen: I’m using a laptop, maybe phones differ?

          • @SgtFury: Yeah was using a mobile. Desktop shows everything as expected. Cheers

  • Applied for new FTTP NBN connection on Thursday (21/03)morning and hasn't been activated yet.

    • Still not connected yet?

  • Signed up this morning, connected within 10 minutes and modem automatically connected via DHCP with regular SMS updates. Was a bit skeptical at first but pretty happy now given how smooth everything went. The online portal also allows you to do everything you need to (incl. cancel). Thanks for sharing OP!

    • What nbn connection type is yours? Others are saying it's pppoe Login?

      • +1

Dynamic IP - however they did send the PPPOE login details but I just ignored them given the other comments

  • My 6 months exetel just expired. Sign up the NBN50/20 plan on my mobile 6pm brisbane time. Internet connected in 10mins. Download speed 53.98mbps, upload speed 18.87mbps. awesome

  • +1

Just connected me in 4 mins (wtf)… Getting 55/19 on my 50/20 plan, as expected.
Didn't have to change any router settings, they gave me PPoE details, but I'm not using them.
    Can't complain.

    • On FTTP ?

      • HFC.

I wish I had FTTN so I could get in on those Leaptel upgrade plans.

  • As others mentioned the port completed a little faster than expected, all done switching from More NBN within 10 mins. PPPoE details arrived 3 mins later.

Currently on FTTN, speeds actually turned out better on Pronto. Went from 40.5/9.5 on More -> 44.0/10.5 on Pronto.

Had low expectations but no complaints so far!

  • +1

Tried to send an email to [email protected] but it got bounced back? But otherwise same as the other posters here and got connected within 10min without needing login credentials.

  • +1

    Connected in 8 mins.. FTTP

  • Switched from Exetel within 10min, FTTN. 53.5/17.2, latency 9ms. Didn't change router settings.

  • Activated after 10 mins without login credentials required. FTTP on the 100/20 plan, getting 109.49/18.86, latency of 3ms.

  • Thanks OP. Cheaper than my Yello discount with More, albeit for 6 Months vs 12

  • Have just signed up with Pronto. I put through the transfer request and a few minutes later I was connected. Surprised at how quickly and seamless it was to do the transfer. Speeds are great so far. HFC on the 100/20 plan and getting 110/19.

  • Activated and provided with login details, however ported over from Leaptel without having to use new credentials. 40mbps down at 5:40pm. Did not experience any downtime porting other than briefly getting kicked off the wifi and needed to reconnect.

  • Anyone in nsw able to tell me what dns servers these guys use by default?

    • People actually use the ISP's DNS?

  • +2

planned for a connection for today a week ago. 9am got a message said connection was happening, and 6 minutes later i was connected. just tested and itsshowing 54/19. also came from leaptel and had no new credentials input required. no complaints on day 1.

    • Are you on FTTP ?

During the signup process, do you get to specify which UNI-D port you want connected?

      • i have HFC not FTTP so no. my previous place with FTTP just used the other uni-d port (if 1 was used, 2 was choice and vice versa) when connecting so ymmv

  • Thanks OP. Just signed up. Took 10mins and connected. Seamless. Didn't have to change any modem/router settings or reboot. Internet was down for a minute. Getting 52/18 at 6.30pm on HFC

  • Connected in 5 mins, thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP. I just gave notice to Superloop and signed up with Pronto with a starting date of July 15th.

  • Just having a look at Pronto and their FAQ's. Can someone confirm or clarify the following couple of points please? I thought it was just 30 days notice, no penalty?

1/ Pronto Broadband nbn and voice plans are offered with a 12-month contract.

2/ Q. Will an Early Termination Fee apply if I cancel my Pronto Broadband nbn service before the end of my contract period?
    A. Yes. The Early Termination Fee for cancelling your service before the end of the contract period is $110 (including GST).

    Thankyou.
