If you missed out on the previous deal or looking to expand your security camera network more then these cameras are back on sale and cheaper than before. These are shipping from Reolink's AU warehouse and if you have AliExpress coins you can get them as low as US$26.87 (~A$41.34) each.

AU Stock is now sold out and stock from China is available for more.

This deal is one per customer and I personally prefer the turret/dome design of the 520A instead of the bullet design of the 510A as it's more discrete.

Both feature a 5MP sensor with 2560x1920 resolution, 4mm focus, PoE support, motion sensor, human/car detection, 18 IR LEDs with up to 30m night vision, inbuilt mic and IP66 water resistance.

You can power it with a PoE switch/injector or power adapter and for storage it supports a microSD card up to 256GB. It supports RTSP/ONVIF, FTP, NVR and playback/alerts through the Reolink app.

Paid through PayPal and got another $5 off instantly, making it $40.25. Don't know why 🤷 but I'll take it.

  • Looking to upgrade from my eufy cameras to poe cams, would this be a good option or would something like Dahua be better

      • any recommendations?

        • Hikvision 4K 8Mp

@iLikePizza: This comment speaks volumes about the type of individual you are dealing with here.

I think it is about time we have an OzBargain t-shirt that reads: "Do you have even a PHD in switches, bruv?"

Honestly go with Dahua over reolink. There are some pretty good deals online for 4 cameras installed or 6 cameras with the Tioc. I've had reolink and do run a camera from them but having the dahua system as my main one is more reliable, cameras have much better night vision also compared to the argus I have. App is good too

If you go around to alot of sites and work dahua and hikvision are used, they are professional grade, made with metal not plastic and seem to be better overall.

      • Pitting Reolink's Argus cameras against Dahua PoE cameras is a ridiculous comparison. They're completely different types of camera, and the Argus is heavily constrained by battery management and network limitations.

All of Reolink's PoE cameras have full sealed aluminium casings, including this cheap old model.

        • Didnt specifiy but we have run the r811a as well on a mates joint with also the 820a's, yes some of the reolink have aluminium too and I didnt say reolink doesn't?

Both poe systems will do well at the end of the day and ai dont think you can go wrong but the dahua in general you will see professionally installed everywhere and you can't go wrong, but they are more expensive for sure. I enjoy both systems but prefer the dahua and have had better experience with it and theres a reason it and hikvision are the most popular brands in the world

          • @Torch000: Reolink are a lot more user friendly and cheaper. Night vision is a definite weakness of the Reolink lineup though the new CX versions are really good and new models are coming soon.

If you want full control of shutter speed and exposure etc definitely go the dahua/annke/hikvision. I have the Annke NC800 and a NC400 connected to an Annke NVR. I do get 3 months of storage which is way better than the Reolink system. I use the Reolink daily and the Annke is basically just flood lights for my Reolinks. Last time I tried to get some footage off the Annke it kept glitching during download so again I'll just use Reolink. Reolnk CX cameras to NVR are my recommendation.

  • How are you guys getting US$28.44? I am getting US$35.39 after US$3.00 discount (04CD03) + US$4.58 Tax.

    • yes , exactly!

    • Looks like the AU stock is sold out now.

      • Ah I am too slow:(

  • Are these Ethernet only or wifi too?

    5MP is horrible quality.

      4mm is difficult aswell

      • +1

Depends what you're trying to do.

If you're hoping for maximum wide coverage, yes it's more difficult - this camera is only capable of about 86 degrees from memory. If you want to monitor a specific area with decent detail, the 4mm lens is excellent.

5MP is plenty good enough for most purposes - a little less resolution usually means reduced detail during the day, but also tends to mean better night performance.

Everything in cameras is a trade-off - including the price. If you want amazing performance, you probably should be looking at more expensive camera models to begin with.

The sensor to MP ratio is much more important than MP alone when it comes to security cameras. Don't be fooled into thinking an 8MP is always better than a 4MP.

Do not buy a 4MP camera that is anything other than a 1/1.8" sensor. Do not buy a 2MP camera that is anything other than a 1/2.8" sensor. Do not buy a 4K (8MP) camera on anything smaller than a 1/1.2" sensor. Unfortunately, most 4k cams are on the same sensor as a 2MP and thus the 2MP will kick its butt all night long as the 4k will need 4 times the light than the 2MP

      • Dude thanks for the knowledge and wisdom! Do you have any camera models and brands that you use yourself or would highly recommend?

        • I've only started down the rabbithole of learning about security cameras, but the forums on https://ipcamtalk.com/ are a fantastic place to start.

  • I bought this from the previous deal last month for my reolink NVR. I have 5MP cameras already but this one just won’t show up when connected by Ethernet. It powers on fine but still shows no signal on my monitor and the app. Thought it would still work but without the smart features like person and vehicle detection.

Is this a compatibility issue as my nvr is like 6 years old?

    NVR model: RLN8-410-E
    Hardware version: H3MB16

I looked my model up and the doorbell is not compatible ?

Log into the web interface via its IP and turn on ONVIF.

      • Will try tonight and report back, thanks for the tip

      • How do I find the IP address of the individual camera? It doesn’t appear up in the reolink app or is detected by my router. Only the NVR up address is displayed in the app and on the router… I am out of my depth.

        • Use Angry IP Scanner to scan your network for devices.

          • @Clear: Thanks but Angry IP scanner didn’t really give me any useful information. I then went and updated my NVR software. Tried doing it through web browser, didn’t work. Then saved the file to USB and updated directly through NVR UI which was successful. Upon boot up, was the first camera to show up.
