Just bought this over the weekend @marsden park. Comes with P434 cameras which retails for at least $189 each. Good reviews. It’s not on their online site.

Keep in Mind this is 8 channel NVR which included in the package, not the 16 channel which they normally do sell on their website.
8 x decent quality 4k IP cameras and an NVR for $800 is a pretty spectacular deal.
Not sure those are P434 cameras though - the sensor layout looks similar but the shape of the lens fascia is square rather than round.
Ur right, it is only the 820a with spot light, not the p434 as op stated.
It is the p434, it’s indicated on the side of the box. I wouldn’t have a clue what p434 is until i googled the cameras included. I’ll take a photo when i get home.
Edit: i think this is an exclusive costco package cos you can’t find the combo on the reolink website. When u scan the qr code, it points to a 12 channel nvr with 4tb hdd, this one is 8 ch with 2tb. I’m sure p434 cameras are included.
Per the post below from evokable, looks like they're P334 cameras.
They can't be ordered separately from Reolink, but appear to be closely related to the D800 and 820A - based on the above link, the major differences are the additional spotlight LEDs on the front to enable colour night vision, and a speaker to permit 2 way audio, which are both decent upgrades worth having. They also seem to have an SD card slot (unlike the D800) but it's not clear if they have UIDs and can operate stand-alone.
All in all, this kit appears to represent excellent value.
From what I could tell from reading the various kits, all cameras included in kits are not able to operate stand-alone.
@Izefyre Are you able to confirm if the cameras have an SDcard slot and UIDs to allow them to be used with other NVR systems?
Even if they don’t and can’t be used in standalone mode, I’m curious if the bundled cams can be used with other Reolink NVRs, if anyone knows…
Sorry but they arent P434 cameras in the NVS8-8MD8 kit.
They're actually the discontinued D800 v2 cameras.
Strange, the one in the picture is a NVS8-8MD8 with D800 cameras.
The one from your link is the PS4KD05-8 with P334 cameras.
I think their cameras are great but I would not recommend using the internet cable supplied. The quality is really bad. 6 of 8 cameras were not working. I couldn't figure out why until I bought a cable tester and realised the problem. Now I am not sure if I want to replace all the cables…
This is my only gripe so far, I am waiting to pull the trigger and would love to see a discounted version without the cabling so I can BYO.
I didn't have any issues with the cables supplied with mine (short blue or long grey). I've even cut one of the long grey down to 3 short and they are working fine.
Overall pretty happy with the setup, 8ch NVR and 7 cams. Desktop app I have a few troubles with but a close/restart always fixes it (running full time). No blackouts in any footage, 24/7 recording.
Happy enough to recommend to others.
Are you able to share any images of the quality of the cameras at all?
I've used the included Reolink cables in 4 x installations so far with zero issues.
The Licensed security installer won't use customer supplied cable, especially so if it doesn't meet S008 standards, a non-issue really.
Anyone have any success using the cameras with a Dahua NVR? Specs online for the camera model say it supports ONVIF & RTSP, but Reolink also suggests that Kit NVR cameras need to be connected to the Reolink NVR but the language could just be ambiguous.
As mentioned elsewhere, the cameras shipped as part of pre-defined bundles often have different firmware and chipsets, and aren't capable of being individually configured. This typically means that they can't be used with other NVRs.
The general rule of thumb is that cameras offered for individual sale on Reolink's website are able to operate independently and can be configured to work with other NVRs. Cameras on their website that can't be ordered individually, or listed as an "add on camera" are only capable of talking to Reolink's NVRs.
Will these cameras work with Reolink POE switch?
Yes, I believe they should - provided that the switch is on the same LAN as the NVR.
Pricing error… you’ll be waiting a long time unfortunately
Is DIY installation worth trying? Never went up the attic before, watched some videos and it seems okay if you are careful enough and know where you can put any body weight on.
DIY is easy if you have some basic skills and tools. At very least, you'd want a torch, a cordless drill with spade bits or a step drill bit, a pull cable (rigid piece of plastic or wire ~2m long) and some stickytape or insulation tape.
Making the actual connections is literally plug and play - it's routing the cables from a central NVR location to each of the cameras that can be tricky.
I'd suggest identifying your NVR and camera locations, and then climbing into the attic to see how hard it is to reach your cameras. You will quickly find out how much work is involved and be able to make a decision.
For legal reasons, please be aware that all permanent network cables in your house are supposed to be installed by a licensed cabler, although this law is widely disregarded and enforcement is almost entirely non-existent.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I am upgrading an old system with this one, all camera locations and nvr location will be the same. Sucks that currrent system has bnc (I think) + power, and this one has better PoE, had no luck with chep bnc to rj45 converters from Aliexpress. So will probably try DIYing. I was thinking to switch off main power and solar power just to be extra safe lol.
If you already have BNC cabling, you can probably use that as a pull-through to drag in replacement ethernet cabling - that could save you quite a lot of hassle, assuming any drilled holes are big enough to fit ethernet plugs through.
@klaw81: Yeah, I thought of it, but I wasn't sure if there might be obstacles when I start pulling the cable, for some cameras it's about 15m distance. But worth a try 💯! I guess I'll try this before heading up the attic lol🤞
That's not as bad news as you may think. The existing cabling will be a godsend and spare you the effort of using fish tape / pull cable to weave through cavities. And you can run some network / backhaul cabling while you're at it for better internet speeds and hardwiring to tv's or routers…
How is the storage side of things? Anything subscription based or all local? NAS?
Fully local storage onto a 2TB mechanical drive inside the NVR, no subscriptions required. You can upgrade the storage drive if you want.
You can pay a subscription to store footage in the cloud if you want, but it's totally optional and you don't lose any functionality.
Bought one few hours ago , one more left on the pallet at Marsden park
Awesome. Can you confirm whether the cams include SD card slots?
I’m contemplating grabbing a set if I can find one to mix and match with my existing bullet cams and create two different systems with a range of cams that are horses for courses. Good luck with yours…
I haven't opened it up will open the box this Arvo and confirm
Cheers. Looks like a great deal, especially when compared to www.ozbargain.com.au/node/896112 which included only 4 cams instead of 8 for just $110 less.
Will also be interesting to hear if it includes a 2tb drive or larger. Assuming it's the former, you'll want to upgrade ASAP or you'll only have 3-4 days retention.
@UncleRico: Can confirm its 2TB, I believe there's a way to only record when there's an event, which should significantly increase how many days footage can be captured- but there's a slight chance that an actual event you might be interested in gets missed, because either the camera couldn't understand it or it was outside of detection zone! My 2c!
@Kejuluja: Yep, recording "event only" is definitely to be avoided, or at least only actioned via the SDcard that's held locally in each camera, whilst the HDD should record all events. I'd configure / reduce frame rates or image quality if I was that desperate to increase retention times. I know the "always on" POE cams have better lag times than their solar equivalent, but it's amazing how many times critical info is missed on "event only" recording.
Better yet, grab the biggest harddrive you can get your hands on. I put a 16tb Exos X16 in my RLN8-410 (N7MB01) and it's using every last byte despite the firmware stating an official limit of 8tb. Will be interesting to here what the stated max sizes are for this NVR, once we can confirm as much. Really disappointing that the specs of the NVR and cams aren't listed on Reolink's site.
@UncleRico: Thanks for your input, this is first ever kit I picked up myself to replace the old set put on by previous ownser. I'll avoid the events only setting based on your opinion, and iirk I readt this system is expandable up to 6tb, but unsure whether I read that on the box or in the manual. Will post here if I manage to find the source of the info.
@UncleRico: Okay, this is what Costco listing says:
"1 SATA Interface 2TB HDD Included. 1 eSATA Interface For HDD Up To 12TB. Up To 6TB Capacity For Each HDD"
Source: https://www.costco.com.au/c/Reolink-4K-Professional-NVR-With…
@Kejuluja: Sounds like near identical specs to the RLN8-410, which saw its previous officially supported 6tb + 6tb increased to 8tb + 8tb with the latest firmware update.
Hopefully yours is capable of at least as much, because you’ll need it with 8 x 8mp cams. If it turns out to have similar workings to the RLN8, hopefully it will be similarly capable of (unofficially) supporting up to 16tb WD Purple and Seagate Exos X16 drives, which many have had success with.
Yes there is TF card port on the side of the camera
I have a photo but not sure how to add it here
What's the biggest HDD size this will take?
Hard to say since there is so little information available on this package or NVR on Reolink’s website or elsewhere.
If it’s a recent hardware version and has access to firmware updates, it may be supported up to 8tb + 8tb (via the esata port) and unofficially capable of handling 16tb + 16tb like the RLN8/RLK8.
There’s a couple of great Reolink forums on reddit with some very knowledgeable users that may have more info.
Can confirm it works with larger drives. Have replaced mine with a 10tb internal and the original 2tb connected via esata.
Funny you say that, I have a 16TB that just arrived a few days ago I've been meaning to install! Will let you know how I go this weekend
@keongyip: Yep 16tb Exos X16 is running fine for me on RLN8-410 after updating firmware, running version N7MB01. If this is based on near identical hardware, it stands to reason it should handle similarly sized drives…
@UncleRico: N7MB01 is the hardware version of my Costco variant so looks like identical hardware to the rln8
@evocable: Great to know for future reference. Out of interest, where did you score your esata adapter to repurpose your 2tb?
Also, double check that you've manually updated firmware, as some users reported initial success, but could not overwrite recorded footage once the initial 6/8tb was filled - until they manually updated firmware.
@UncleRico: Thanks mate, good tip re the firmware, will update that. As for the esata cable I had one in my box of old cables in the shed 😅
These work really well! I can't figure out whether there's an android TV app for this? Or perhaps some other android TV comptatible app that can be used to watch reolink cameras on TV? My NVR and TV are in different rooms. Already tried google home integration but had no luck with that either.
My Reolink cameras are available on my Chromecast using Google Home integration.
I imagine there's a way to side-load the Reolink Android app into Google TV directly, but it might be a bit unwieldy to operate using a remote. You could also install a browser and view via the NVR's IP address.
Are these still available in-store at this price?
For those who have purchased, are these colour night vision?
I think the discount has gone.
They're not true colour at night, they have led that can turn on when motion is detected at low night and that switches the camera to colour mode, otherwise they have IR lights for night vision that you can turn off.
sorry to bump this discussion. if i installed all 8 cameras and added a doorbell, would the NVR still be capable of recording the "9th" channel? it seems like the NVR in this package has the ability to view 12 cameras so hoping it can record the 9th, even if resolution etc had to be reduced for a few of the other 8 cameras. TIA
Curious to know this as well, but there's only 8 poe ports though, is your question related to the wifi doorbell?
No, the bonus 4 channels cannot be used for the doorbell, wifi or POE.
The extra channels can only be occupied by the second channels of dual lens cams like the Trackmix or Duo. Or by a small range of Argus cams. If you’ve got a doorbell, you’ll be limited to 7 POE or powered wifi cams.
Ahhhh ok got it. That's fine I won't need all 8 cameras plugged in at the same time so will do 7 plus the Poe doorbell. Thanks for confirming this, you've been most helpful and I'm sure this will help others
This is a much better deal. If I'm not mistaken this ends soon, plenty of stock at Costco Ringwood when I picked up last week.
