    DJ Are claiming 529 for this machine a quick google search says that's absolutely absurd

      Spot on. Every man and their dog has it for the same price (excluding 15% discount). Bunnings has it for $197.

    How’s this machine for 1-3 coffees per day?

    Is the steam wand good enough to properly froth and warm up the milk?

    • +2

      Been using one of these since Christmas after a decade of brewing coffee in a Moka pot and frothing milk in a Breville frother.

      It's good for the price. Pulling shots can be inconsistent but that might have something to do with my grinder. The steam wand works really well.

      You need to power reset the machine after every single use. If you are making more than 1 flat-white you need to toggle the power button before brewing your next shot.

      Is it any better than my Moka pot / frother combination? Yes and no. It's faster to make a coffee but the Moka flat white tastes better. I'm sure that can be fixed with a bit of experimentation.

      • Interesting about the restarting after making every shot

        • I can't think of any logical reason.

          • @rickb: I have a similar model with older wand. Maybe when we turn it on it reheats the boiler. I have a power sensor on my machine and it reheats at various times not necessarily related to producing a shot of coffee?

            • @Juice08: Maybe this.

              1. COOLING THE BOILER
                To make coffee again immediately after frothing milk, the boil-
                er must first be cooled or the coffee will be burnt. Proceed as
                follows:
                • place a container under the cappuccino maker;
                • open the steam dial to deliver hot water and cool the
                boiler;
                • hot water delivery is interrupted automatically when the
                boiler is cool. When the pump stops operating and no more
                water is delivered, close the steam dial.
                The coffee maker is now ready for use

        i believe you are referring to the below:
        Please note:
        • to prepare more than one cappuccino, first make all the
        coffees then at the end prepare the frothed milk for all the
        cappuccinos;
        • to exit the steam function, press any button. The
        and lights flash to indicate that the temperature is
        too high to make coffee (see section "Cooling the boiler”).

        Instruction

      • Thanks for the reply. Seems like a coin toss between this and the Sunbeam mentioned below.

      • Mine doesn't require a restart, have made 3 cups no probs. It has an auto power off if left unused for a while, I'm guessing about 5 minutes at least.

    • I got one of these before COVID, 2019, and it’s still going strong with more than three cups a day.

      Watch the YouTube videos on how to make coffee and maintain this machine will prolong the life time of it as well.

      My only recommendation is to get a really good grinder, which will most likely cost more than this coffee machine. IMO, it’s a waste of money to spend money on a cheap-moderate ($50-$150) grinder. It won’t give you the consistency as the pro grinder. Alternatively and for convenient purpose just get ground coffee packets, it’s still great but less aroma. However, you don’t stress over inconsistency of the ground coffee before you brew. I hope this helps.

      • Which grinder to have and suggest to buy?

        • Breville the Smart Grinder Pro.

          • @huntingforbargainz: I've used the exact same combo for 5 years too and its been flawless for around 4 cups a day. Best investment ever

    Similar model from Sunbeam EMM2900SS also on special from Amazon $169 (EMM2900SS). contemplating on which model to get

    • Has slightly better reviews than this one

    • Sunbeam based on the reviews.

    • +1

      I’m keen on ordering the Sunbeam or this Delonghi. Hoping more users provide feedback on either.

      • The issue is that the stock level may be low and soon after, you may only have one option.

    • +1

      They are very similar - the delonghi comes with a proper metal tamper, the sunbeam only has a plastic tamper/measuring spoon

  • My local Aldi was selling these (markdown clearance, leftover from last time they had these). I recall the price being around $140.

    I gotta say - this machine is absolute trash.

  • I've had this one, or perhaps the earlier version of it for at least 7 years. It was still going strong making the daily coffee up until Xmas when my partner surprised me with a new one with an inbuilt grinder.

    I think she paid about the same amount now all those years ago.

    Never had an issue, made consistent brews, other than it takes awhile to make a bunch of coffees when you have many visitors.

    I mainly used pre-ground coffee, never bothered with a grinder until now.

  • Great machine for the price - compact build, adjustable temperature, programmable shot buttons, and fast warm up.
    The Arte model has a much better steam wand than the previous models.

    Match it up with the Kingrinder K4, fresh beans and a single wall basket and you will have all you need.
