Lowest ATL (as listed on Amazon) according to Camels^3

I recently just got the Titanium model (ECAM45086T) - but honestly this model would be just as good if you don't care about wifi/app (which is actually pretty useless tbh) - and or don't care about cold brew…and at $999.99 is I think an awesome price for a super automatic.

Was just about to post this!

I have bought the philips 1200, the delonghi magnifica (recently posted deals) and now considering purchasing this as all come with a 30 day change of mind return policy.
I keep getting a watery shot out of my philips 1200, have adjusted grinder settings to finest level and maximum intensity.

Anyone had experience with this machine?

    • Coulda just been a faulty machine? Even high end super automatics (kitchen aid, De’Longhi etc) have times where they are just faulty/ not compliant to spec out of the factory according to reddit.

I’m very happy with the eletta - Already saved (?) $40+ from not going to the cafe Saturday/sunday/monday. Though, I will low key be sad I can’t happen to be served by the Vietnamese baddie barista at my local cafe anymore.

    • I have the titanium model also (ECAM45086T) and all I can say is that it’s a great machine. The wifi/app is very important though because on the front panel of the machine, you can only adjust size (coffee and milk) and intensity of the drink (2 variables). With the app, you can adjust the coffee amount and milk amount separately and intensity (3 variables). The coffee amount variable allows you to grind more coffee into the infuser which helps to prevent watery shots. I set the grind setting to the finest grind and about 45ml for coffee amount and this gives a nice honey consistency for the coffee when it pours. When the beans get too old then I can even increase the dose to maintain that consistency. (Old beans come out watery otherwise).

Wow great find! Thought I got a unicorn prima soul @ 829 (likely a price error); eletta for 999 on amzn is a great deal! Even better I guess if folks can get a JB match to use spare gift cards.

  • It doesn't keep the milk cold, so it's not really fully automatic.

    • Damn I guess I need a butler or something.
If only I was earning as much as the average whirlpool forum user sigh

The ones at Coles Express and 7-Eleven keep the milk cool so you don't have to take them in and out of the fridge everytime you make a coffee…

        • yeah but the store clerk still needs to put the milk from its main fridge into the mini fridge (that's part of their coffee machine) and pipe it into the milk bottle…..so where is the line for "fully automatic"?

They also need to fill the water if it's not plumbed (their not all plumbed), and need to constantly add the beans…so again, what's the line for "fully automatic"

    • +4

It doesn't milk the cow either, so it's not really fully automatic.

      • I mean it doesn’t also auto empty the grounds or the drip tray or auto refill the beans, or order new beans with lime blue or airjo , or warm your buttocks or whisper sweet nothings in your ear as you sleep…

Had mine for over 2 years. Great machine as long as you keep up with cleaning and maintaining properly.

  • Been after a super auto for a while now, is this my best bang for buck option right now? So many models and machines to compare!

    • If this model was this price last week I would have went this machine no second thoughts.

But last week it was $1299 vs $1599 I was like stuff it go the highest end and don’t regret. The $1599 model listing interestingly does not accept change of mind return.

      • Is this the one you bought? https://www.delonghi.com/en-au/eletta-explore-automatic-coff…

Is wifi/app literally the only difference?

        • +1

          Yes that one

No it also does cold brew as well (different brew method).

It also comes with a travel cup (which isn’t here or there anyway as I have a few different travel cups anyway)

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Thanks! It's so weird because the wifi model has a lower RRP than the one posted in this deal ($1999 RRP in this deal vs $1599) on the Delonghi website

            • +1

@Garbotoxin: yeah i noticed that too last week but i pay zero attention to RRPs - if you're planning to get the one i have, delonghi does have 10% off code right now (Sometimes more, usually around big days like mothers day).

              • @Jimothy Wongingtons: How do you rate after about a week of usage in general?

I can't call myself a coffee snob at all, but recently after getting cafe coffee from time to time I've been able to really be picky about it compared to my usual freeze-dried Moccona Medium Roast instant coffee (now feels incredibly inferior obviously) so I was wondering if it's finally time to cave and make proper coffee haha

                • +1

@Garbotoxin: I love it mate. i'd recommend if you have budget for it - As i said above in an earlier comment to someone else - i have zero urge to go back to a cafe at all.
i have a voucher for a free coffee from another local cafe i used to go to - but i cbf even redeeming it as the 15 min drive aint worth it when i can get a coffee as good at home.

                  moccona

nah dont poo poo moccona, when you get the water just right, and with a sugar or two it isnt the absolute worst out there…

                  • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Yeah I've always thought Moccona is "just fine" for the longest time - something in my brain must have just clicked over after having local coffee since slowly getting pushed to return to office more :(

Heavily considering copping on this deal…$1k is a lot to spend on coffee machine though

                    • @Garbotoxin: also fwiw ozbargain roalty member @jv rates the ECAM12122B at $448

                      so…i dunno.

                      • @Jimothy Wongingtons: I actually did look at this model - but the S doesn't have automatic milk froth/dispensing.

The Eletta seems to also be more milk-drink friendly (I do like my Lattes/Flat whites) and would also earn bonus points from the wife with it being able to do milk drinks lmao

                        • @Garbotoxin:

but the S doesn't have automatic milk froth/dispensing.

It's not really automatic, you need to take the milk out of the fridge and connect it each time…
Frothing the conventional way doesn't take that much longer.

@Garbotoxin: i drink moccona because its cheap mainly.
i also have a sense now of when to stop my kettle to produce something that isnt just a bitter (like my life) cup of moccona.

  • Same price at Costco

  • Hows this fully automatic vs The semi auto Breville Barista Touch?

    • I was looking at semi auto for a long time, but I’m getting too old to faff around now. So just went full auto instead. I’m happy with it. I’m not a coffee snob though.

  • Anywhere other than Costco able to do it at this price? I am only seeing Titanium model at TGG and Harvey Norman

    • why not just get it from amazon? free delivery prime members and supposedly will accept free return*

just do the free trial if you're not a member.

      • I would have preferred Afterpay. Gift cards are an option I believe

    have this machine, is great

Thanks OP. I have no idea why but I bought this.

Now I need to figure out what to do with my 7 year old Barista Express.

    • Why? You deserve it.

What to do - sell it on marketplace , or be like me with all my other random hoarded upgraded stuff and keep it in storage in the extremely off chance you need it one day in an emergency for a backup..
