For Black Friday this year, ALDI will be running a limited-time 10% off the $25 Pocket Money Prepaid Gift Card.

This card usually incurs a $3.95 activation fee, which is being waived this time round, so it'll only cost you $22.50, for $25 worth of money!!

        • I tried at 11am and still waiting for x3……plus they don;t answer their calls not respond to tickets submitted. Might try return them to ALDI for refund as these are useless as wanted to use them today for a purchase.

    Tried to redeem one. It said SMS sent. Never receive it though. Waited for 5 minutes. Then tried to scan the same card again, it said already redeemed. Nice.

  • The SMS function is s**t, I am not sure if this $25 x n deal ultimately worth the pain. Even though it's good to pay small bills, but one failed card is $25 vs a $10 gain from each $100 simpliy doesn't add up.

    If the SMS activation can be improved then I am more than happy to buy more

  • seems they have resorted to sending emails. click on the email link - it generates an instant SMS to add the credit..

        I tried adding another card but no emails or SMS's yet…been 30 or so minutes..

    What is the process if you redeemed a voucher and didn't get the SMS? It's been a few hours.. scanned again and says redeemed.

  • Do they have a limit on the max amount you can top up onto the same digital card account?

            @mrhorse: There is a cap funding the account from vouchers (5 voucher cards) vs from another source.

    • Confirmed back up. Just redeemed 8 before commenting. Haven't received two from limboland tho. Seems like we can test by requesting a password sms to see if sms are being sent. That is what alerted me.

      Just give them a couple of days to fix system and should be ok.

      • Time is money and a lot of wasted time already spent so certainly not free money! Then have to figure out how to get the missing SMS's from this morning. Luckily I only have 3 to resolve but such a waste of time and effort just for $20 (in my case). Never again!

  • Just got sms from redeeming a card at 12pm. About 10 hours later. Managed to speak to someone twice on the phone but they reassured me that I would get sms.

    • Jusr redeemed 5 cards back to back, seems to be working well atm.

    And use the "split" payment function as well to use up these $25 cards.

        Looks like you get one "virtual" mastercard. Reloadable card essentially. So it's one fixed Mastercard card only for Paypal. That balance gets topped up so keep track in the microgifts app.

  • Anyone know how to get the ones that did not receive the SMS's from yesterday activated?
    Neither Sales or Tech support answer their 1300 000 889 number, nor answer their emails (via contact form) sent yesterday morning.

    Update: Just as I wrote above, two SMS' arrived for the two outstanding from yesterday. They must be queued. All sorted thankfully.

    So, just to clarify/summarise:
    Buying more than 4 cards is easy;
    Some people are succeeding in activating multiple cards to their account;
    Some have surpassed 4/5 per day, but most are being hit by a limit at that point;
    There are issues with reliably getting the SMS to activate the digital card (delays or never coming);
    Sometimes the card has already been redeemed by card-fishers (longer SMS means more likely to be fished);
    Call support is hard to get through.

    On the Microgifts page it says "…MicroGifts IT systems will restrict promotion loading more than 4 cards…."
    It sounds like going past 4 cards is a bit of a hassle.
    I activated my four without issue, and the guy at the store didn't even realise there was a limit per customer, just transaction.
    But it since they're digital cards they can enforce it more. Doesn't sound like they've implemented that enforcement well tho.

    • Isn't the 4/5card limit a 24 hour limit though? after 24 hours, another 4 cards can be added and you repeat this until the $999 limit is reached?

  • Been to multiple stores in VIC and been told the cards has been recalled and they can no longer sell them.

    Has anyone got told the same?

    • Funny, I just bought the last x13 at a local Aldi. Was a surprised to find any as thought they were all gone since my last purchase. Somebody had placed a couple of Myer Giftcards in front of them. Apologies (& thanks) to whoever did this but they are gone now :-)

  • Saw about two dozen in a "poor suburb" (probably far from where easternculture lives :P) Noone seemed interested. Didn't buy any myself, just finished the weekly grocery shop and heading back.

  • Has anyone come across this error message when activating their card "Please enter another recipient, as this recipient has reached their daily limit"?

    This would be to a new mobile number that has not been used previously to activate. I have tried 2 new numbers but kept getting this error.

    Is their site broken?

    • What if you try scan and register using a different phone, perhaps it detects the local app has being used 4 times already?

      • Yes I've tried using 2 different phones and 2 different numbers, and they both have the same error, even though they've never been used to activate.

        • I have already been topping up for 3 days without issue. Balance sitting at 375 now.

          • @maverick1: Ok, so I logged out of the app on 1 phone, and it miraculously worked, managed to add 15 cards to 3 other accounts/mobile numbers.

              @tsuitenaishoujo: Isn't that a hassle to manage i.e. three cards rather than the one with a single balance.

              • @Borg: You dont really have a choice after buying a few grands. Otherwise will take forever to load.

                I am hoping to cope with 2 accounts though.

                • @truetypezk: Too true and in that case, I'd be having a few accounts as well. Being restricted to x4 ($100) per day is such a joke unless not rushed. I only got $500 so will finish off tomorrow.
