          • @RoseJJ: No notification whatsoever. Need to just check in Aus Post app. Finally got tracking and estimate arrival Monday.

        • No cancellation or tracking number and I ordered 4:05 on 7th of Feb

    • +1

No. Amaysim has not delivered in my case.

      • Yeah still waiting for a notification.
Blue 256 gig ordered at 7 10 pm on 7 Feb. looks
Like case is going to arrive before the phone which I’ll really rub salt into my wounds if it gets cancelled.

  • +1

128GB Red arrived. iOS 14.3. Battery was dead flat, took 20mins charge to turn on. What's the bet all the batteries will need replacing soon.

    • It's quite cheap to replace the batteries at Apple store.

    • Holy! iOS 14.3!

    • If the health is still at 100 it should be fine

      • +1

Mine was 100% battery health, so relieved. Deal of the year!!!

    • Red received and yep dead and not turning on yet 😵

    • +1

If your phone battery is having troubles out of the box. Take it to apple. Say it’s brand new. But due to its age I’m having troubles with it keeping charge.

The replacement is free. That’s the Australian consumer law.

Wish people would know more about their rights. If it’s really bad due to age. Get them to replace the battery for free!

Apple Store not amaysim that is.

You might also have 7 days apple care + with a new device. So for 7 days you don’t need to whine about any laws and just get it done.

Just received my Blue 256gb and can confirm it is aussie stock - the pack has all of this for anyone wondering . You get a physical sim even though the order said e-sim - https://i.imgur.com/oysP7x4.jpg . Battery is in 100% health

    • +1

Hey, I didn't get the Optus flyer. I might get on to Chat and complain.

  • Received my 128gb red today!
SIM needs activating, can I wait until June?

    • From the T&C the plan starts immediately.

  • Red 256gb.
    Ordered @3pm Tuesday
    Received posted notification 1:30am today.
    Delivered 9:30am today.

  • Received my 256GB Blue mini!
Hearing some comments around warranty started/device purchase shows from Nov 2022, how do I check this on my device?

    • What time did you place your order?

      • +1

7 Feb, around 4:30pm. Delivered to Melbourne.

        • Thanks for sharing. The answer to your question is here https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

          • @sicaboy: Thanks for that. I tried using the serial number, but it says to "activate the device" first. Can this be only checked after registering the device?

            • @HappyPanda: It shows Nov 2022 before activation. After activate and login your iCloud it will become 9/2/2024

  • How is everyone finding battery life?

    • iOS 16 ?

  • +1

What is your ios version out of the box? 14? 15?

    • 14.6

    • 15.4 for white 256G

    • My blue 256 is on ios 14.7.1

      • same

    • 14.2.1 with the 128gb red

      • +1

        Yours manufacture day is older.

  • Did anybody get a TAX INVOICE with their phone?

I don't think the $125 mobile plan fee can TRS rebate, but the phone should get a GST refund.

    • It was just the delivery note in my case, no amount mentioned on the letter. Might have to contact amaysim on getting a proper tax invoice.

  • +1

Just asked the amaysim chat, and they confirmed that for random new numbers, the 90-day plan will be activated on the date you receive the device! For port-ins, you got 3 months to port in your number and activate the plan!

    • thanks as we ported in

      • Spoke on live chat and the representative said that you can defer activation of the plan for up to 90 days, as long as the mobile number is "waiting for activation" and not activated.

  • +2

From the comments it seems like nobody got AusPost shipping notification since this morning. Still nothing for my 256 blue, ordered on Tue at 7pm. Sydney Metro

    • Same, i try to be as dispassionate as possible, but I really want this phone now.

    • Maybe I should've ordered another colour…

    • Also waiting for 256 blue, ordered on Tues @ 4pm. Sydney

    • I am over the hype already. Disappointed overall with Amaysim, not that I hv high expectation of them in the first place as they are Optus. Anyway, in a couple of hours, before end of day, I will chat and if the order is not being fulfilled, I will request cancellation and full refund.

    • +2

relax folks, this is just the 3rd days, which is still well within Amaysim expected delivery timeframe. Im waiting for my tracking no. as well and it should come soon. Worst case the order get cancelled, which means we dont gain on this deal, but no loss either.

      • +1

Not gaining on this deal means a loss to me lol!

    • I ordered the 256gb blue at 4.30pm and it was delivered this morning, Sydney

    • Got my 256 Blue today in Sydney Metro.

  • How do you tell if it's a gray import again?

    • +3

The Australian model is in the format #####X/A, as on the red one I just took delivery of.

      They are not grey imports.

  • parcel just arrived. driver did ask for id, so i showed my proof of age card. driver didn't know how to record it and in the end entered my date of birth. now let's see if it turns on lol

    • Did it turn on normally?

      • nope. had to plug it in and the low battery indicator immediately showed up. phone powered on like 10 minutes later.

        • As long as battery capacity is 100%, everything is fine.

          • @rqz: yeah i'm not worried. 10 minutes is quick considering how long it's been sitting there in the box

        • Same here

  • Ordered Blue 256GB 7-Feb 8:30pm
    Processed in Sydney 9-Feb 3:30pm
Delivered to home address in Brisbane 10-Feb 2:00PM

    • I ordered the same but at 4:30pm and still no sign of my phone. I'm also in Brisbane.

  • am actually impressed with the way they handled the orders. less than 48 hours delivery from nsw to qld is really impressive.

  • +1

Isn't it funny that 5.4inches is now considered Mini.

When I had the original Galaxy Note strangers would come up to me and ask me about it.

My friends would laugh every time I whipped it out.

    • +5

      I read this very wrong.

      • +1

        You didn't ;)

    • As we grow up and are no longer a kid, so as our hands. So that size is relatively small. Haha

      • I've been an adult for the entire smartphone revolution.

But thanks for making me feel old.

  • Sadly I won't be receiving my 128 Green today.

Tracking received yesterday 5.30pm but still ready for processing and no updates.

I thought StarTrack was overnight express?

    • It needs to be scanned at the depot then it's generally next business day. Ready for processing just means seller created a label to ship doesn't mean Australia Post or Star track have it yet unfortunately

  • I unpacked the new phone, dropped it on an old 'Comsol/ wireless charger, and got ablue light on the charger and a reassuring beep - and a thin red line in a battery icon.

The positioning was and order of magnitude less finnicky than with the old Sony Xperia I'd got it for. I note it also starts charging without turning the unit on so I may leave it to do a long slow charge for a first top-up.

    • That’s old school

  • Anyone else having trouble activating the plan? I logged into my account, showing 250GB plan on my new number but the 'activate sim' button ain't doing anything. Received a sim in the shipping box but it's a blank $2 card.

    • I just went through this. I first tried the " new number" activation which needed a voucher/card, then went back and activated with the radra button for the new phone number - which activated the e-sim.

Once that happened, I got on the phone and the lady was trying to direct me to the " replace SIM" option on the dash-board - which wasn't available as it needed the active account to pop up, which took a little time given the hammering the site must be taking.

That allows you to activate the blank sim using the 13 digit number - but with a caveat that if it is after 19:00 hors in Sydney, it wouldn't happen until the next day.

Given the workload their site must be getting, I decided to leave it until tomorrow. I want the ability to swap the sim out and drop in a Voda one as I'm right on the edge of Optus' 5G.

179.04 Mbps looks like 4G to me.

  • seems amaysim support have sent someone else's order enquiry to my email address and phone number. i can see the other person's order details and delivery address….jesus christ, amaysim.

    • Hope it’s not mine.

    • Well they do use Optus so….

  • +3

Congratulations to OP on 1000 upvotes.

  • any other way of using the extra sim? we dont really want to change provider.

    • Data sim for tablet, or if your phone is dual sim just chuck it in there and use the data.

    • It's a blank sim just like a $2 one you would get from the supermarket so maybe hang onto it for rapid activation of the inevitable upcoming specials if/when Google and the two other telecos start feeling the tickle of the % of the >26927 click-throughs which went ahead with the deal.

  • When you receive the iPhone and SIM, do you need to activate the SIM right away or can you wait 2 weeks?

  • +4

First time I received a new iPhone and the battery came flat

    • Means you always get the latest model before?

    • I guess Amaysim overestimated the demand for the 12 mini on release and only now have decided to clear them out.

Also, released mere months before pandemic.

      • mini folks are very vocal

        • When you’ve gotta a mini you have to make it up in other ways.

  • +4

The weekend begins. I still haven’t got AusPost notification for my blue 256. Sigh

    • +1

      Same 😭

    • Have you checked Aus Post app? There is no notification that I received. Just the tracking in the app.

    • Me five.

      • I had nothing
Went on the chat and asked where my order was
She said please wait a further 24 hours

And within 10 min I got tracking..

  • +2

I received mine today but security seal was broken on box and retapped dodgy thankfully everything was inside as it should be brand new red iPhone 12 mini 128gb so far very happy. What a steal.

  • Just got the tracking number for my green 256GB

    • I order the same phone. What time did you order?
