    • Yep, you'll have enough time to transfer over your stuff before having to send in the trade in

    • I also got that ship from 7th Feb on the page. Maybe that is just for the A23 handset I ordered in the same order.

    • Mine got shipped today.
I have 2 orders both shipped.
      1. S23U with A23
      2. S23U with watch 5

  • How do you sign up to Samsung rewards or is it automatic when setting up an account to order?

    • +1

You need to go to Samsung Members app then benefits then activate the rewards.

    • It gave me the option to tick box sign up on checkout.

  • Is it actually cheaper in education store? I compare it without education account for 1TB version.
    https://i.imgur.com/HGhlMQ4.png $2,148.40
    https://i.imgur.com/IUW40IG.png $2,298.00
    It is just $149.6 difference…
    Don't think education store has 20% off…

    • +3

THey do have 20% discount but normal store has double memory offer

  • My order got shipped, it's appeared in my Auspost app

    • Please share your experience after receiving the device. Thanks

      • I tried a demo at my local JB yesterday. There isn't much difference. They usually have phones brightness set at full so the camera looks brighter and cleaner when you compare it with anything else.

        • Yeah, I tried as well. I don't believe that I notice any difference on demo except the less curve screen. Hope the battery is better on S23 ultra.

          • +1

@HappyBargainer: It should, tests suggest they are on par with iPhone 14 PM on battery life. Other 8Gen2 phones all show massive efficiency improvements when compared to 8Gen1.

        • I haven't really noticed much of a difference since S10 (other than the cosmetic changes to the look of the phone). I've upgraded every year, so used pretty much every galaxy phone.

Usage wise for most people will feel the same, unless you are a intensive user, e.g. play games or do anything that is cpu/gpu intensive.

Just battery life, but most smart phones are mediocre anyways. You aren't going to get more tha 1 day off a smart phone if you use it heaps

          • @lplau: The main think that changed has been camera. S22U has a pretty significant change when it came to camera and moving to Snapdragon from exo processor.

Samsung has also started to call down on the curve, would love to have a flat screen ultra.

  • +2

For those that don't have a phone or anything else to trade in, in the trade up app you can select accessories, choose earbuds/ & then other.
That will automatically get you a $1 value trade in, it doesn't even ask for what earbuds they are.
Using the trade-in code it will trigger the extra $300 trade in discount on Samsung store or $200 on the EPP portal.

Factoring in that you will be charged the $1 & $60 admin fee for not sending anything in, works out to be extra $239 off on the Samsung store or $139 on the edu/EPP portal.

    • +3

Doesnt trade in only work on the same category of item? Eg: hone trade in for a phone buy.

    • Doesn't work.

    • +1

      Can confirm this doesn’t work.

  • Mmm maybe it's just the buds this doesn't work for them. Because ordering the s23 ultra I traded in a watch and used the code for phone purchase with no issues.

    • Which watch and type? Any other comments, like adding certain defects to lower it to $1?

      • This method doesn't work either.

      • Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE , trade in value was $55. You might have a point there.. potentially with the watch or buds if trade value is only $1 maybe cant use towards a phone, not too sure

        • Weird. I'll attempt if it's above $50.

Tried in Education and Normal stores with $1 trade-in value for buds and watch.

    • which watch option did you select and did you need to put in any details like sn/imei?

  • Hi all.

Trying to work out best place to buy the S23 256gb version. Have access to edu store.

If going through Samsung I'll trade my s10e for $1 plus trade in bonus. If JB I have Motorola g82 which is $150 plus trade in bonus.

    So options.

Edu store if you get the reward points and bonuscare.

Or normal store if cashback tracks

Finally JB and 5% gift cards

All similar prices but Samsung comes with samsung care.

  • Are the 10x reward points only on the ultra?

  • What happens if we change our mind regarding trade in

will we just be charged the hold amount - in my case $380 + not sure why they charged me $1

    thanks guys

    • That $1 is to check whether your card is working when you're generating a trade in ID. This will disappear after a few days.
The $380 is the security hold when you're using the tradein ID and placing an order. This will be refunded if you return the phone and the condition matches.
If you do not return the phone, $380 won't be refunded (or if it is too long the charge has been dropped they will charge it again) + $60 admin fee (late-return or non-return fee)

      • Correct me if I'm wrong. In this case, do we just get the benefit of $300 trade-in bonus - $60 admin fee (i.e. $240).

The trade-in value and the no-refund should net out right?

        • Yes correct, it's effectively $240 off.
However some people got away with the $60 admin fee but that's pretty random lol.

  • Question pls - I have Active 2 LTE and would like to trade in for Watch 5 Pro LTE - trade in amount for $65 - do I get additional trade in bonus to offset the cost?

    • +2

doing a test now there looks to be a $100 bonus trade in when you buy the watch so for you would work out to be
      $649
      -$65 trade in value
      -$100 bonus trade
      total $484

not sure why but managed to get it in the cart for $579 the first time before any discounts.. and now its saying $649
EDIT: it seems that the default and is the D-buckle when you click on the Galaxy Pro 5 screen, however if you do the following you can choose a different back where the price will then range from $579 for the plain back to the $520 is you select the Ridge Sports Band

up the top menu , hover mouse over mobile then select watches. Click GALAXY WATCH 5 (NOT PRO)
it will open the next page and from there modify the specs to be the Galaxy Watch Pro 4g and the price will show as $579.
If you go straight to the galaxy pro 5 page , the price comes $649 for some unkown reason
Dont forget to change you band colour as is defaults to Lavender

  • I have a s22u 512gb.

    Epp s23u 512gb is about $1800
    Normal s23u 512gb is about $2000

    Trade-in value with Samsung for s22u 512gb is $750 + $200 bonus ($950)
    $1800 - $900 = $900

    Trade-in value at Officeworks is $950 + $300 bonus ($1250)
    $2000 - $1250 = $750

    Is this right

    • You can’t use the $300 bonus towards the device. They send you a $300 Officeworks gift card later on, and you cannot use Officeworks gift cards online.

  • The phone has been shipped :)

    • When did you order?

      • +1

        2nd Feb

    • What?

    • +2

      Same mine is shipped. S23+
The track order link is broken as always…. but if you use Development Console within Edge you can find your tracking number.

      Shipped via Startrack.

Right click on the error panel and go to "Inspect" then close the track order panel, and reopen the track order panel.
You will see a error on the bottom with a URL like:

      POST >https://shop.samsung.com/au/multistore/auepp/government_au/my-account/order/order/tracking/<TRACKING NUMBER>

Use this tracking number at Startrack website.
No need to waste time on the phone with Samsung to obtain the Tracking number.

  • Does anyone know the full list of trade in items? There is an option in earbuds section called "others". Does that mean that we can send any cheap earbuds?? Can someone please help

    • When I attemped to use a accessories trade in code, it gave me the error of "Trade in coupons not the same category".

  • +1

I'm trying to trade in via the Samsung Plus website, but an error displays: "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment."

The same happened on all Edu, Gov and Samsung websites. Is it working for others? I already sent an email to Asurion based on Samsung customer service advice.

    • I have been having issues all arvo. My wife got a samsung+ coupon so i decide to buy from there. when i initially added the trade code it charged me but when i go to cart, its not there. when i try add it in the cart nothing happens. In the other stores as long as you add the code while in the cart it works.

    • Same here. Annoying. Please let us if this gets fixed for you.

    • On the final day of the offer, Samsung fixed the issue and now Trade-in working for everyone. Terrible service.

  • Hi. Can someone please point me in the right direction. I want to trade in my old iPhone 7 but there no Samsung trade up app in the App Store? Can I use the Asurion Trade-In app to get the Trade ID to get the bonus trade in? Thanks

    • +1

Give this link a shot. Seems need to use this one if you are on an iOS device

      https://samsungtradeup.asurion.com/

      • Thanks. Look like unfortunately I can't trade the iPhone 7. The minimum trade in Apple device is iPhone 7 Plus.

        • Go through Jbhifi. They will offer you something for the trade in and you'll get the 300$ credit towards the ultra + the 250 gift card.

          UPDATE:

JBHiFi will not accept the iPhone 7 :(

        • JB does not accept iPhone 7 , use officeworks.

JB did not accept Samsung S9 but officeworks did.

Also I checked on officeworks and……

          Apple iPhone 7 32GB
          Your device trade-in value:
          $60

          https://officeworks.moorup.com.au/promotion/samsung-galaxy-s…

  • If I get a trade-in code with an old Samsung phone and not send it back, will Samsung lock or cancel updates in the old phone? And will they charge anything more than the trade-in value plus $60 admin fees?

  • +4

Scrolling through the comments, it's astounding how lazy people are to do their own research.

  • +2

Just pre-ordered the s23u 1tb for $1948 through the normal store.

Traded in $1 note 8 for the bonus $300.
    Free Samsung care.
Shopback cash back = $88.54 tracked.

  • Trade in working for anyone else?

Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment

  • Shopback are offering 5% cashback +10% ($50 cap) for Westpac lounge, via regular Samsung store.

    • Do you think the $50 is on top any 5% cashback? It does refer to it as a bonus so I would assume so. Say $1,500 purchase = $125 cashback?

      • Yep, bonus is on top. Your example is correct, though the Shopback app does say "excludes taxes..", so cashback may only be calculated on the pre-GST amount.

        • Cheers, do you know if the BONUSCARE discount code will impact?

          • @MJD91: Terms and conditions imply it will. Comment thread has suggested that others have had problems with using similar code via Cashrewards, no mention of Shopback

  • I have an old s8+ that has no physical defects, but is basically not functional (stuck at boot loop and constantly switches itself off).

After much struggle, I managed to complete the steps on the trade up app.

My question is should I send in the phone for trade-in?? Would I risk being charged extra fees due to its condition?

Am I better off not sending it in and pay the $60 admin fee?

    • Indicate in the trade in that it doesn't boot up properly then go from there.

Would try JBHifi Butt they'd need your IMEI, as would Samsung

      • Thanks, I have put in the IMEI of the said old phone.

Didn't realise I can put in extra info re 'not booting up properly', so I guess it's too late!

        • Did you go through the trade in and purchase?

Worse case scenario, they'd charge you for the price of the trade in + $60.00 admin fee.

          • @4ksandknives: I went through Samsung's trade up app and follow all the steps (which didn't ask about defects other than physical ones).

Got the trade ID but haven't done the purchase just yet.

The trade in value is only $10, so sounds like worst case scenario I will lose $10 + $60, but will be able to get rid of that phone. I'm tempted to send it in anyway, or it will just sit in the cupboard collecting dust…

    Ordered Saturday, shipped Monday morning.

    • I ordered yesterday and the status is preparing for dispatch. Did you order 256 or 512 version?

      • 512

  • Ordered mine on morning 2 Feb, still in preparing for dispatch!

  • 256gb Ultra dispatched, tracking shows tomorrow delivery. Yay!

    • Same.

    • SAME SAME

  • Cashrewards formal response:

Thank you for reaching out to our team. I hope you're doing well.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response. Our team reached out to Samsung regarding the coupon code "BONUSCARE", and the store has advised that this coupon code unfortunately cannot be attributed to Cashrewards, and therefore, using this code in your transaction will invalidate your cashback.

    • +1

I treat cashrewards/Shopback just as extra monies if it works. They are hit and miss most of the time, sometimes adblock, pop up blockers issue and what not.

In this case I did get tracked but Bonuscare was a risk I was ready to take because it's a lifesaver for me.

      • finger x'd on the approval - maybe they'll miss it like some did last year

        • I cannot get on Samsung through either shopback or cashrewards website just doesnt open.

    • Just stop bothering with something uncertain. Last year it worked but everyone knows they can of couse invalid it.
I cannot see any benefits of sending these enquiries other than raising the alert to them and making it officially invalid.

      • Well they could have come back -

Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response. Our team reached out to Samsung regarding the coupon code "BONUSCARE", and the store has advised that this coupon code has been added to Cashrewards, and will be accepted.

Either way - people get an answer

  • Does anyone know if Samsung Trade In voids cashback at Shopback/Cashrewards? I can't find any concrete information.

    • +1

You will know eventually. CB should be treated as an extra rather than an actual discount.

  • +1

Anyone having issue to make trade-in work on Samsung+ ?
Put the trade in before adding the phone to the cart, the price doesn't reflect when checking out, but when tried adding trade-in at check out, the pop up window just doesn't work.
Tried Edge, Safari and Chrome with all the same result…..Just tried normal Samsung store and trade-in worked just fine…..

    • Try on phone worked for me but couldn't get on site from shopback.

      • Thanks for that, just gave it a try and it gave me a blank page after I clicked "Continue" on the "Trade-In Your Old Device" page

        • Try at check out step. So add phone accessories bonus care etc then try trade in ?

          • @Jono258: No luck, the normal Samsung store worked just fine just the Samsung+ that is not working….

            • @moneytomyway: Maybe try clearing cookies and site data. Something weird going on there. Or go incognito mode and see if that works.

            • +2

@moneytomyway: Having the exact same issue here on Samsung+, no matter what device, browser or network I use. Works on Edu store and also the general Samsung portal but not this one. I have talked to them on chat about it a few times since Friday and they say they are working on it

              • @camsmith12: Thanks for this info. I hope they can fix it before 16th while restocking 512gb

                • @moneytomyway: Hoping for the same! Please let me know if you get any update from Samsung support or if you find a way to order :)

                  • +1

@camsmith12: Just spoke to their online support and was advised to reach out to Ausrion.
My past experience with Ausrion is it takes a while for them to respond to your email, and in all fairness I don't think they can fix the bug on Samsung's website…

                    • @moneytomyway: I also reached out to them this morning and they told me to email Ausrion. what a joke! so much for being a VIP.

                      • +1

@sabrelli: Been dealing with Samsung direct for a few years now, my gut feeling told me the fix won't be happening before 30/03.

                        • @moneytomyway: I can do the trade in on my phone browser but cannot get to samsung from shopback on phone but can on laptop but then trade in doesn't work

                          • @Jono258: what phone browser? I have tried everything with no luck.

                            • @bubber: Chrome

                              • @Jono258: Are you on the Samsung+ portal? My mobile chrome doesn't work for this.

Cannot believe Samsung are telling people to email Ausrion, it is their website that isn't loading the trade-in box correctly…

                                • @camsmith12: They are aware of the issue. I have sent them photos and videos and have a case number. I just have a feeling that they don't want to fix it.

                                  • @bubber: Yeah you might well be right, it has been going since Friday already. A strange decision given this is a 'VIP' portal
