Fyi $250 evoucher needs to be redeemed in same transaction as the phone. E.g add accessories Upto $250.00 in same process and $250 will deduct from the cart.
Use it toward Galaxy Watch, Buds, Tablets and Accessories.
eVoucher must be redeemed in the same transaction

Also $200 bonus trade in if that's something your looking to do

    • Thanks, I couldn't get any t&cs to appear on it

Tradeup now includes accessories so if you have galaxy buds, its a $1 trade (never have to send off) and get $200 extra off

      • How do you trade up galaxy buds? Tried using the app and portal, but seems to only work for phones.

        • +2

On the app. Their is accesories options

          • +1

@Thunder-Wombat: Doesn't seem to be working at the moment, can't search for any accessories in the app.

            • @ballistykx: Have you installed the latest update. I had one this morning when I opened the app.

              • @Thunder-Wombat: Yes I did, I had the old version and it prompted me to update. Maybe the update broke it.

              • +1

@Thunder-Wombat: Can anyone get the trade in bonus just trading in Galaxy Buds? It gives me $1 off (only because I added Galazy Buds 2 Pro) but no bonus credit…

          • +1

@Thunder-Wombat: Are you talking about the normal trade-in app?
When i do it detects automatically my phone and don't see any options to select accesories.

            • +1

@viki8702: I got the trade up code for $1 for Galaxy Buds, but can’t use it on S23 or S23+ or S23U getting message:

“This Trade ID can only be used for Wearables. Trade IDs must be used on products in the same product category. Please exit and select an associated product.”

So apparently can’t use accessories as trade in for phones.

      • +2

So if the tread in value is $1, they don't ask you to send it?

        • +2

You're still meant to send it, but if you don't they will charge you $1 ;) and a possible $60 admin fee

      • +1

When i tried to use a accessories trade up ID it threw an error saying 'needs to be in same category'

    • Couldn't add cases as part of the $250 eVoucher.

      • Weird, adding the leather case and shows as free in check-out

        • +1

I'll try it again, thanks! Maybe I added too many.

Can confirm it works with less cases.

    • Thanks for that, now I know to plan ahead

  • +12

    Very obvious price increase.

    • +3

      That's the bonus scare!

      • +3

        Bonus scam

    • Probably every country except USA,, getting pretty annoying already

  • +8

20% off and no double storage offer ? Hiyaaa

    • Still cheaper, isn't it? $1949 on Samsung website for 512, $1799 on edu portal.

      • +10

        Yea, you are right.

Though, for completeness, 300 trade in on public website ($200 for the .edu store per a comment above) means the effective price difference is apparently $50, not $150 (512gb), or $29.80 price difference on the 1TB model.

Edit - jb is same price, comes with $300 bonus trade in and $250 jb vouchers….. so same price as public samsung…. but you can get discounted jb vouchers to use to save $75 or so….. so, $25 cheaper than samsung edu, for the 512gb …… BUT, no Samsung Care.

I'd suggest samsung care is worth more than $25, so this deal still wins.

        • Thanks for this. So, cashrewards doing 8% cashback - assume only for public Samsung website - would that be best deal?

          • +3

@UnrealMacaw: Last year for s22 preorders, cashrewards tracked but was then rejected for a lot of people due to use of a coupon - namely free samsungcare…. so i would not rely on it!!

However, the public samsung website does have an additional special i didnt pick up - 10x samsung reward points for ultra preorders. Not sure if rewards would be paid on cash paid (about $1400), or on total purchase price (1949+250accessories voucher), or somewhere in between … but must be at least worth $140 at a minimum.

Therefore, oddly, it seems the cheapest s23 ultra deal at the moment is the public samsung website ….. if you place any value on samsungcare, and are happy with about $400 of samsung vouchers - $250 of which must be spent instantly…. and as a bonus, despite being the cheapest, you might also get 8% cashback if you buy today, maybe.

    • +2

There is double storage offer available. So effectively you order 512GB an dpay the price of 256GB.

  • For the bonus trade in, can you still get away with not sending in the phone?

    • From memory, there will be a $60 admin fee and your phone IMEI will be blacklisted, so you can only sell privately.

Correct me if I am wrong, haven't done it in a while now

      • +2

@sylau90 is right. Last time I tried it , they charged me $60 admin fee for not sending the phone. I used another old phone's IMEI which is not eligible for trade-in just in case I want to use the trade-in option again in future and send the phone.

      • I have a Note 8 broken screen, currently with $1 trade in value. Do they sill ask you to send that in for $1? Thanks

        • Are you able to use the Samsung tradeup app with your note 8? Might just stays on tradeup app loading screen forever

      • $60 admin fee + whatever the trade in value was.

        • 250 bonus trade in value…

          -60 admin
          -5 (pick a cheap s6 phone option? anything lower/cheaper?)

          still win??

      • Since when do they blacklist the phone?

    • +2

No, asurion now deduct the trade in value straight off your card and only refund that amount to you once they have the phone.

      • +4

The thought of dealing with Asurion again …

      • Thats not correct. If you use a credit card, they charge the amount immediately but that is only a hold that goes away after 1 week, and then they charge it again only if you don't return the trade in device.

    • +3

In short, you dont lose the extra discount Samsung is giving.
Let's say you trade in a phone worth $100.

When you place an order today, you will get a $100 + $200 (trade bonus) = $300 discount today.

If you decide not to return the phone, You will be charged $100 (trade-in value) +$60 no return fees.

      Still a profit of $140.

      I did this last year.

      • Sorry I was thinking of $300 trade in bonus, your figures are correct.
Does anyone know what the admin fee for not returning phone is for JB Hifi / Officeworks etc?

  • +3

Here I am with my s20 fe and we already at s23…

    • Same here, mine's starting to slow down as all Samsungs I have had in the past have. Thinking of ditching Samsung for an Oppo or Pixel.

      • I ditched Samsung after my S9. Can vouch for both Pixel and Oppo phones.
Only had to return to Samsung after needing a fall detection watch and I wasn't going iOS.

      • I still have my Oppo X2 Find Pro 512gb that I've had for almost 4yrs now. Still going strong! Only thing I have had to do recently is clean out the charging port and now good as new. These overpriced Samsung/Apple phones are only this expensive because ppl are willing to pay the money. Each to their own but $1,500 - $2,000 for a new phone is ridiculous imo.

        • I also have the same phone it's pretty damn good so far no issues. The thing is Oppo is not much better at the high end $1500 RRP even the find x2 pro was around $1300 ish when it came out. They just don't hold their value like other phones. So when on sale you get them for closer to $1k or lower. Second hand even better. I just miss Samsungs old trade in deals where it was worthwhile but now prices are just crazy

          • @Jmore1231: Yes, I got mine on sale only a few months after its release for under $1k. I rate Oppo's top end phones but others prefer Samsung/Apple.

      • Same - S20 FE Exynos. Happy with the screen and SD card slot, but noticing increasing sluggishness. Considering going to Pixel.

  • +11
    • hard pass - will stick with my S21 Ultra 512GB - 16GB ram ftw.
    • +8

Every year, and they don't convince me I'm making much of an upgrade from my Note10+.

I'd say 3.5 years has only brought with it a significant upgrade to processing power, and maybe enough of a leap in camera specs.

There's an argument with 120Hz (but it's dynamic), and establishing 5G (which is not quite mass market serviceability).

I'm probably going long term with the Note10+ (5-7yrs) until a Fold convinces me (structurally, and doesn't seem to have some spec concessions) or age and enough Note iterations justify the new purchase 🤷🏼‍♂️

      • +1

Would stick with my N10+ too but I dropped it and the screen cracked. $450 to replace the screen. Upgrading to this is very much a grudge purchase.

        • hence I would never buy a curve screen again. seems replacement screens are very expensive (even on aliexpress)

          • +1

@mrjayviper: We are more interested in whether you would buy an aircon again…

            • @McFly: seems I got a fan :D (never knew someone is very interested in my posts! thanks for the support)

        • Same boat but got the Note 20 Ultra

      • s22 was worth the upgrade

        ive used every samsung phone

still keep my note10+ as backup. just cant get rid of it. love it too much

but its certainly sluggish af now tho

  • BONUSCARE voucher doesn't seem to be working on my EPP portal. Can somebody confirm if it actually works on the EDU portal and stacks with the other discounts?

    • +3

Pretty sure you need to add the bonus care first, and then add the code(if that's not what you have already done)

      • Can confirm this way works.

      • Thanks!

  • +2

I still don’t get how Samsung charges so much for additional storage.

After 3 Samsungs, no more, they just don’t last.

    • +8

Neither do most things in life , congratulations !

    • +1

Apple does it too. They all got rid of the memory card slot so they can charge you hundreds of dollars for 128GB more. At this point, I think their biggest profit comes from these memory scams.

      • +2

Except Apple never had a memory card slot since day 1. Samsung did since day 1

        • True, but Apple's been removing other things.

          • +2

@DontNeedThis: You cannot remove something you did not have in first place.

            • -1

@dealsucker: Are you dense? I clearly said "other things". Like the headphone jack (which was the biggest step backwards in mobile phone history), or the sim card tray (only us models for now), or 3D touch.

              • @DontNeedThis: If it was the "biggest step backwards in mobile phone history" duck face, why did others follow suit? They should have lost marketshare and every other oem would have gained. No?

                • @dealsucker: Because they all want to sell their own useless earbuds. Same as why they removed the memory card slot.

                  They should have lost marketshare

No, because there are always sheeples.

                  • @DontNeedThis: And if the earbuds are so useless why do people want to buy it? They could have simply bought a phone which came with a 3.5mm jack and the others would have lost marketshare making them course correct?

You are an idiot of the highest order if you believe people will buy $150mn $1000 phones because they are "sheeples". I am sure you have absolutely no idea of why Airpods were such a success because obviously you have no idea of what it means for end user experience when you remove the friction of using a product, especially bluetooth and doing it reliably each and every time why it is so underrated and why Apple is Apple. Or how are airpods one of the highest rated consumer product ever?

You are just a simpleton obtuse troll who cannot think beyond unidimension - this because that, this is your intellect.

  • +5

Apparently all s23 models have snapdragons now? Id say thats a decent improvement… although samsung doesnt seem to want to advertise that on their website lol

    • +1

      S22 ultra has snapdragon.

        • +7

Better then the exynos in s21

          • +1

@Jklaro: It's a generation later so you would hope so…
My main reason for disliking the 8g1 is the sustained GPU throttling. 53% is objectively bad

            • @DeToxin: not just that, the battery is a hit or miss. My S22+ battery sucks. Probably need to get a powerbank

              • @OzGardian: My battery seems to be ok. Makes it though the day and I'm calling people constantly, I also have battery saver on so only starting with 85% of capacity.

Hopefully Samsung takes a page out of the Chinese brands book and develops some decent cooling solutions for the upcoming generation.

                • @DeToxin: thats great. I've heard reports of both good and bad battery on the S22 lineup.

      • +1

The entire S22 range in Australia had Snapdragon

    • +3

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has excellent reviews too - on par with A16 and better thermals and raytracing

    • +2

I'm pretty sure all Australian S22 models had snapdragon as well

  • +2

Glad I got the Oppo Find X5 Pro end of last year (with free Oppo Pad Air promo). These prices are just crazy!

    • I think find x6 pro will be the way to go this year for older Oppo users or people who want a better deal to Samsung but with prices these days who knows what to expect

  • JB hi-fi
Memory upgrade offer - Pre-order the S23 Ultra 1TB until 16th February and get it for $2249. price after pre-order $2649.

    • Same with Samsung website. OP's price is still cheaper isn't it?

  • +2

Are they pushing the No SD card builds to get ppl on cloud storage and save costs??

    • +4

Not only that, they're charging you $$$$ for higher capacity memories, which only costs them $.

    • +3

That's why I just buy midrange phone next time I buy phone, it just not worth buying flagship anymore

      • +5

Totally agree, however I personally really need descent cameras which is hard to find on midrange phones.

        • -1

Older flagships work. There isn't much difference in cameras since the Note 20 ultra.

      • Any new phones worth looking into that have sd card slot and still decent quality features like camera/processor etc…?

    • +2

It's 2023 and you still question about SD card? It never comes back bro LOL

      • +2

        A man can only hope!
