Great price and even better after PB from OW.
I don't know when expire.
Mod Note: These may be grey imports (ie. UK Stock). Purchase with discretion.

Broken screen?
Version
Almost a year.
Broken screen is not a version, it's a condition
I have an aversion to this condition
i used my nexus 4 with bottom half broken screen for 1 year, used a tweek to rotate screen 180 degree on demand to type and swipe.
That was a great phone. I loved the sparkly back.
One of the good things about the 'a' version is the cheap(er) replacement screens.
https://www.ifixit.com/en-au/products/google-pixel-8a-screen…
$149 vs $278 for the Pixel 8. Genuine original screen. Worth it!
Are we waiting for pixel 9a deals?
Yup, 8a was almost down to 300 at launch
is this likely to happen again?
Wait really? I can't remember it ever dipping that low?
I think the various offers at the time mine came to just under $300
Not $300, Maybe $400 if you can get $150 for the voucher. (I refuse to consider JB vouchers as cash)
Did they let you reneg on the trade-in for free like Samsung once did?
Amaysim had it for like $480 if you could get the $200 discount voucher.
Launch of 9a delayed and even stopped from pre-ordering
Reading into it, i'd prob skip the first batch.
Where did you see that? It's well underway preordering stage - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/collections/mobile-phones/google-p…
JB did have "pre order" and you could add to cart.
It is now "coming soon" and cannot add to cart
its a 3rd party seller, so i dont think they will price beat
You're right. Well the Officeworks price beat guarantee states that it must be in stock at their competitor. I don't think that they will class this as one of their competitor as it's not sold direct by Amazon AU but by this 3rd party seller (and it's also likely a parallel import model). A competitor is the likes of JB, Harvey Norman etc.
they did a price beat for me today, in Brisbane
Well you're lucky as they must have made a mistakenly thought that the seller was Amazon AU. As this sale is not sold by them but by a 3rd party seller. You got a fluke.
Which Officeworks did you go to in Brisbane? Did you call in or price beat at the store?
they will price beat amazon if it is sold directly by amazon au.
this phone isnt being sold by amazon au its being sold by Skyradar, which is some 3rd party seller
And Skyradar is also selling UK parallel import models. As you can see by their previous sale (from last month) for this Google Pixel 8a 128GB sold by them through the Amazon AU web site. So it's not even Australian model stock. It's a UK stock phone.
From what I see, one or two is fine as long as the price is not that diff and the model number looks legit. Rather give you $10/$20 voucher for you to come to visit the store. They can always say no and disappoint you.
Is this the Australian model and have you actually successfully PB at OW? A review from Feb says it's the Japanese version.
Also plenty of European reviews for other Pixel models sold by Skyradar. A review for Pixel 8 Pro claims US model.
No. This is most likely the UK model phone. Skyradar has been selling UK models.
The previous Pixel 8a phone they sold was a UK model. Is not Australian distribution stock.
That makes sense given all the European reviews.
OP just got lucky with a PB at OW.
Yes. As in firstly it's from a 3rd party seller that wouldn't even be on the approved list at Officeworks. And secondly it's not even Australian distribution stock. This is but some 3rd party seller into selling parallel imported stock.
The good thing about Google phones is that the bootloader is not locked - you can easily reflash the Australian ROM if you want.
Warning: this is a UK model
Can't imagine it would matter as Pixels only have International (AU, UK, SG, TW, etc.), Japan (Shutter sound and Felica NFC-F) and North America versions so the stock from Skyradar would be the same as one you could buy in store here.
This
Are you sure? There's a difference between stock and model. I got caught out with Kogan selling me an "Australian model" phone, that turned out to be the exact same model number as Australia, but it was NZ stock. It couldn't use Samsung pay as a result, plus it had carrier firmware.
Pixel and Galaxy phones are not the same.
There won't be a local 2 year Google warranty as it's a 3rd party seller
pixel 9A is exciting with bigger battery, will wait for deals once its released.
Shame that it uses the crappy old Exynos Modem 5300 instead of the newer 5400 since the older ones have pretty bad power consumption.
Damn, didn't notice it. no matter how big a battery is, if not optimised its a waste.
thanks for sharing the info
It's not too exciting when their release has been delayed due to quality issues with the phone…
Pixel 9a or wait for Pixel 9 on sale
Much better phone than someone buying iPhone 16e for $1k in my opinion.
Certainly better value, now that Google offers long support like Apple.
But both are great phones, and it really comes down to personal preference in the software.
Longer support? Google is 7 years, Apple is 5 years? If only Apple would offer long support like Google…
Did Apple have an official number?
I got 7 years of support on my last iPhone.
Skyradar operates under tristar online website.
https://tristaronline.com.au/products/google-pixel-8a-5g-8gb…
Says au version but no part number to compare with officeworks. Also link is sus so getting a price match thru ow is unlikely…
Any deals on the incoming pixel 9A yet?
Im still deciding between nothing phone 3a or Pro or Pixel 9a. Any recommendations?
nothing
Im also in this predicament. Cant choose. The 7 year updates on the pixel is luring me there
need a deal to come along sooner rather than later, 2 family members have a 4a 5g, the battery on 1 is stuffed and the other has issues like the power button getting stuck and trying to power off or emergency call, on top of other random issues
The sweet deal was when it first released around $300 after GC and bonus credit. I'd wait for the 9a deal as another trade-in hoop.

7 Pro is a better phone in many ways, it can be had for $549 at Kogan (grey import too)
Great phone - I have the broken screen version of this and it's been my daily for almost a year
