  • "In order to try our hot sauce you must have bought our hot sauce" am I reading that right??

  • Is it free if I have to buy it first - or have I misunderstood something here?
    Edit
Ah wait - it's like a claim your cash back thing?

    • +1

buy it first and get a 100% cashback

  • What do you mean by digital MasterCard. Link doesn't seem to indicate anything like it?

    • Similar to the Moconna coffee bag deal

    • +2
Q&A - “How will my claim be fulfilled?

If your claim is valid, you will receive the value of your purchase back on a Digital Prepaid Mastercard® (“Reward”) within 10 business days.”

      • sounds like the lindt chocolate deal ….. they sent a digital card with barcode you scanned or entered the number if it didn’t scan …. problem was if they couldn’t read receipt they declined the claim …… 3 claims went traitor through but some of mine i had to rescan ….A LOT of stuffing around to get them to pay up for the 2 receipts that were rejected ……

not sure if they use people to look at the receipts and approve or it’s automated character recognition …..

        • +1

You just reminded me why I don't usually bother with cashback offers. That Lindt offer was mentally scarring 😄
Who am I kidding? I'm a sucker for a cashback offer. I just finished a Claratyne one 👍

Edit: was it this one? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/682182
I resisted until I was compelled by the sheer number of upvotes

  • Too late to buy now? It says in box 3 - "Your purchase was made between 07/12/22 and 31/01/22* - I take it to mean between last day of Jan 22 and and first week of Dec 22. But yet in smaller print at bottom it says "Starts: 9am AEDST on 7/12/22. Ends: 11:59pm AEDST 31/1/23". I'm totally confused or typo?

    • +1

      I think 31/01/22 is a typo.

Just checked my email and I actually randomly bought one on 7/12, cool.

$2.90 digital mastercard here I come!

      • +2

Did the kids sneak it into the trolley?

    • Yeah, for Jan they clearly mean 2023, not 2022. Just a mistake.

  • +11

Why are people so confused by a simple promo? You buy and then you claim. They give you a card that is not physical. Can only be used online.

    • +1

This is my understanding of simple promo. we dont need to purchase it first and we get it free.

    • +5

Digital cards can definitely be used in store, you just need to add it to your phone card wallet or Google pay, and tap with your phone.

Split the transaction to the value of the card to redeem.

That's how i used the moccona coffee MasterCard digital cards.

Albeit a little fiddly at first.

    • you can use the card at the check out register in store also …

  • +3

    Thanks!
What's different red and green? Except colour.
Is Green more mild or hot?

  • +2

"Your purchase was made between 07/12/22 and 31/01/22*"

Typo? or going back in time?

  • Thanks OP - Good find !!!

  • Can I pay with woolies giftcard?

  • +7

$5 each, use 4% off gift card, claim $5 back
    $0.20 profit!!! :D

    • -1

If you do it 10000 times it's 20K and 10000 bottles of sauce.

      • +4

Your math is off, in your example you would make $200

      • +2

It won't work. In the last similar promo, the promoter tried anything possible to decline the claim. In addition, you need an individual phone number for each claim.

  • Thanks OP.

  • -1

too much effort for $5. instead can we not only at shop woolies? maybe some store sell more than $5

    • +1

These were half price not long ago, didn't bother also for $2.50 and not worth giving them all your details.

      • +1

Minimum $10 worth of item to do it.

People easily forget the efforts to find, pay, scan, fill, wait and pray nothing goes wrong.

Not to say the issue to redeem it for some.

        • Agree, most of this stuff is too much effort and time for a buck or two.

  • Thanks OP, really looking forward to trying this!

  • +2

Some comments on this vs Huy Fong version
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/743699

That'll be a pass for me on this deal

    • +3

huy fong is great product ….developed in america using jalapeños….so has intense chilli flavour but without the heat ….. a lot of the other sriracha sauces use hotter chili’s as jalapeños aren’t grown in large volumes in asia ….

  • +4

I used a Woolworths staff discount when I bought it (saved 5%) and they rejected it when I tried to redeem

    • Coz this kind of promo usually excludes employees and their family members. You admitted it by using it.

      • +6

Yeah I’m giving a heads up to other people who might want to use a staff card

  • Actually bought this a while ago
Cashback comes as a TCN giftcard

Tried to redeem cashback -> didn't work and had to email support who gave me different instructions and numbers
tried to add to apple wallet, needed some verification number that is sent to some random address so couldn't use it anyway
Not worth the $5 to be honest

    • -2

I think TCN is active wear giftcard. You have to redeem it via Active/Sport shops like Adidas, Nike etc.

      • I can use it to buy anything else, the tcn Mastercard is not restricted. I've got it from last mocona promotion

  • Limit 1 claim per person. How many bottles can I claim in 1 transaction only? Can I buy 100 bottles in a single transaction and claim them all ;-) ? 1 claim per person …

    • you won’t find 100 bottles in a supermarket … and unless you’ve tried it before and it’s your favourite product how much would you buy …. without having tried it.

      • Pretty sure Woolworths buy goods in bulk (boxes), not just 10 pcs each goods … If claim is guaranteed, at least we can give them to friends and everyone on the street as a Christmas/new year eve gift ;-)

  • Only 1 claim allowed per customer? Can I buy one of each sauce and get 2x refunded?

  • Wants me to download some app to redeem.

  • how does it compare to the OG sriracha?

    • Not as good obviously and not as spicy, less clean ingredients

  • +1

Never got refund from Moccona Coffee Beans deal..I thing that was also offered in form of Mastercard.

    • +1

      Just collecting people's details lol

    • I got email for Moccona deals. Twas a good deal

  • +1

Hmm privacy or $5. Decisions decisions!

    • Why don't you give real first name only then real email and also phone number… Eg. First name : Ivy, last name : H.

I think should be fine if you'd do it that way?

    • +1

Was alright for half price and didn't bother with all this..
Better off just buying the real sriracha.

  • +5

Lodged a claim, received the $5.80 prepaid mastercard within an hour at 8:30pm
    added to Google Pay successfully.
Be aware that the card expires on Feb/2023
    so spend it asap

    • what email did they send it from, i lodged mine around 2 weeks ago and havent heard anything yet, did you get a conformation email too?

    • Paid $5.8 only received $5

      • +1

That's pretty good - it does say 'chance to win'.
I paid half price $2.90, just put in a claim anyway.
Fake email and name just in case they are collecting data.

        • chance to win? This is a try for free deal ain't it?

      • Approval email received already

      • huh.. I too paid 5.8 and got 5.8 back

  • Need some help, lodged a claim but the link they have sent leads to a site that cant be reached?

Where can i go for help?

      • Turns out i just needed to diable my vpn. All goods now thanks

        • ya, not sure why it didn't work with my wifi as well (without vpn)
So I switched to mobile 4G network and it worked.

  • Bought today, claimed and got the gift card 2 hours later. Still waiting for the second one for the wife…

  • +1

Bit of a faff with the form to fill in, install an app on the phone, text message codes. However, thanks to paying with an egift card, and buying another with the $5, I've made a profit!

    • isnt it! i did the same thing :) sauce-ception…!

    • Pretty standard, they'd have to know who to send it to.
I've added the $2.90 to google wallet, will have to use sometime.

  • Went through the claim process. Then had to install an app, download the card and tried to use the card. Not accepted…

  • Where can we use the card?

    • Anywhere, add it to your google wallet etc.
Haven't figured out how to do part payments yet so haven't bothered using - prob easier with cash as the other part.

  • +1

Back up to $5.80 now but the refund process was quick… took only a couple of hours to be verified and get a digital Mastercard.

  • Cheers OP! 🍻

  • Not sure if it's nationwide but these are currently $2.90 at our local Woolies.

    • best wait till next week wednesday to buy if you want to claim $5.80.

  • These half price again at woolies.
Goes alright as an everyday sauce, not that hot or good but better than ketchup ha

  • The green sauce is weird. Quite a strong vinegar taste and it's starchy/gloopy/gluey. Medium hotness.
