BLACKFRIDAY22

Hi Ozbarginers!

My team and I have been working seriously hard over the past 6+ months to design a new RSP that offers high speed connectivity at super competitive pricing. Our focus was to build a product that doesn't offer a promotional price only for the first 6 months of being a subscriber, but for the entire time you're with us!

In true spirit of going fast I'm pleased to offer our very first gigabit deal. Get nbn 1000Mbps on HFC and FTTP for only $119.90 per month! We're running this offer for 7 days only

Simply use the promo code BLACKFRIDAY22 at checkout and we will honour the discount.

Thanks for your support! Please feel free to PM me or chat with the team on our website for any questions.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

This is not Ozadvetising. Confusing how you say you don't want to offer promotional pricing only for the first 6 months but then limit this 'deal' to 1000 customers.

    • +7

Fair call, we will run this deal unlimited to customer signups

  • -2

    only works on 1000 plans?

at least read the posting rules….

  • OP You need to at least correct your title to fit the guideline

    • Can you suggest a new headline? i'm new to OZB so still learning.

      • +10

        $1/month for 1gbps nbn?

      • +2

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/734337

        Maybe something like
nbn 1000/50 $119.90 Month (No Lock-in Contract) @ Zoom Broadband

        • Thanks, have gone with this one :)

          • @[Deactivated]: You might want to change to

nbn 1000/50 $119.90/Month (Ongoing, No Lock-in Contract) @ Zoom Broadband

            • @door999mo: Thanks! Changed.

  • For 6 months only or ongoing?

    • +1

      Supposedly ongoing.

"Our focus was to build a product that doesnt offer a promotional price only for the first 6 months of being a subscriber, but for the entire time you're with us! (as long as nbn doesnt increase pricing on us)"

      • as long as nbn doesnt increase pricing on us

Isn't it almost a guarantee that NBN will increase pricing?

    • +2

      Ongoing, no expiry after 6m

      • Thanks mate, love the pricing..
I have to pay 200 AUD to my current provider (FTTP upgrade), to switch… Need to think about it..

        • As long as you dont downgrade to a lower service with us you shouldnt have to pay that fee. Your existing provider will only be penalised on a percentage basis of downgrades after upgrade to FTTP.

          • @[Deactivated]: Thanks mate,
I am stuck with Exetel 30 days termination notice, is it possible to put later date for rollover?

          • @[Deactivated]: Same here - would switch over if I can schedule a later date for activation.

            • @random-guy: We're happy to schedule a later connection date, and have done plenty already. Once you've signed up just send an email straight to [email protected] with your member number and we will immediately take it out of provisioning queue.

Do you offer IPv6 and CGNAT?

    • +1

Yep we dual stack, and we are running CGNAT. You can also purchase a static IP on checkout which will give you a static IPv4 + IPv6 address to your service.

      • Can opt out of CGNAT without having to get/pay a static IP?

      • How much is a static IP?

        • $7 per month for a static IP

          • @[Deactivated]: We have decided to lower this to $5 per month for a static IP after popular demand.

  • Does Zoom have its own CVCs? Who are you with for your international transit? Do your plans offer dynamic/static/cgNAT IP addresses?

edit: Just saw the above poster about cgNAT - how much does it cost for a static ipv4 address?

    • Yes, we have our own CVC and VNNI over telstra back to the POI's. We utilise GSL for international transit. Static IP address can be selected at checkout.

  • +1

Why no Black Friday special on the 250/25 plan?

    • Will be out soon as CYBERMONDAY250 feel free to post it if you like.

      • Later this week? How much of 250

        • It's available now

          • @[Deactivated]: That code doesn't work for me, says it's invalid or does not apply to chosen plan.

  • Whats the typical evening speed for this plan?

    • Hey, avg approx 600-800Mbps depending on network congestion and if your on HFC nbn network congestion.

    • If you click on the link it reads "624Mbps Download & 43Mbps Upload" for the 1000/50 plan. Aussie Broadband themselves only claim 600Mbps for their equivalent plan so no alarm bells there.

      • Yeah just did and shouldve done that earlier, so safe to say getting 100 more mbps over a 500mbps plan.
Lets see if theres a cracking 500mbps plan then.

  • +1

I might give it a shot, can anyone else find a better ongoing price for 1000/50 internet (not 6/12 month limited)? It is easy enough to switch providers that I don't really care if I run into issues. I can just jump ship straight away if I do.

  • I am due to upgrade in Dec, can I use this deal for that upgrade?

    • Hey mate, send me a PM and ill organise a suspended order for you.

      • Hey mate, Going overseas in 2 weeks, and return back late January, any way to do the same for me ?

  • -4

    Any 12$ for 100/50 plan??

  • How about the other tiers?

    • +4

Potentially have a few more offers coming up in the next 2-3 days

      • Great looking for something ongoing in the 100 or 250 tier.

        • Hey, what would you consider a good deal on the 100/20 or 100/40 products? We're crafting one up now.

  • -3

    Superloop 100/40 is $95 ongoing

    • +1

So way slower for cheaper? Rad.

      • Lol missed another zero :))

        • Nope, they don’t even offer 1000 plans

    • -2

Thanks for bringing this up, i'll put it on the bug list.

      • With respect, that's a crap response. Given you ask for us to agree to these upon signing up, just putting "it on the bug list" isn't good enough.

Only getting it fixed ASAP is.

      • +5

In your opening post, you write "Working hard for 6months+" so you should already have link working so people can read prior to signing up

        • +1

          All problems resolved sir!

  • Just signed up, happy to give 1000 a burl on my clunky HFC.
Superloop discount just ended so this was convenient timing!

    • Awesome! looking forward to getting you online.

    • Perhaps you are an alt of Nathan but this isn't a legitimate RSP, just throwing away your money lol.

      • How would you know unless you have signed up and tried?

  • +1

Do you have any 250/100 deals?

    • +1

Potentially will have a Cybermonday deal coming later this week :)

  • +1

Always good to see new RSPs in the market, especially if you're transparent about your network :) would recommend getting a rep on the Whirlpool forums if you haven't already

    • +3

Trying to be as transparent as we possibly can! Didnt think of Whirlpool, ill have to give it a Whirl…

      • +1

Looks like someone's already started a thread on you guys

      • Didnt think of Whirlpool

        hmmm okay

  • +2

It'd be nice to see a similar deal with the Static IP that Launtel does. $100 deposit and no monthly fee for static ip. When (if) you leave you get the $100 back.

    • At the moment we're just juggling the potential requirements for IPv4 resources wholistically. We may look at something like this in the future.

    • same, would like to have a deal with static IP

      • We've lowered the monthly IPv4 lease charge to $5 per month.

  • Hi OP,

Do you use PPPoE or DHCP?

    • PPPoE connection type.

      • Thanks

  • There's no number for support? I'm feeling this could be an issue if it's only online chats / email

    • Hey, at the moment we're focused on trying to get our support methods perfect via online support before we invest in training call centres of people. Also phone support introduces a significant cost to the business and the way we will continue to offer lower prices is by not having that cost. So in turn the no phone support savings to us are passed back onto our customers.

    • +2

I think most people would be fine without phone support for the time being for such a good price.

    • they advertised that their online support is less than <120 sec which i have personally tried it, as long as they can keep it up getting back within time should be fine for most people.

  • I'm currently in suburb that is marked for FTTP upgrade if requested, can I get the upgrade via you guys? And if I do how long do I need to be on the plan for?

    • PM me with your address and ill check into the upgrade for you. The customer needs to stay on that speed plan or higher for a minimum of 12 months or there is a $200 exit fee. If eligible for upgrade the customer simply needs to churn across to Zoom and then we will raise a FTTX upgrade ticket with NBN

      • +1

Zoom BB isn't on the nbn FTTP page. Find a participating provider

        • -3

Anyone can offer the service, not just RSP's on the list.

            • @deva5610: We already have 16 FTTP upgrade tickets open from this single OZB post as it is today :)

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Have you agreed to the T&Cs in the nbn On-Demand Fibre Connection Program?

            • +1

@Twix: Yes the business had to agree to these terms to offer the product.

              • @[Deactivated]: That is good. Reason I ask is there are ISPs that are not listed that say they can upgrade you to FTTP and never call back. Get your nbn contact to get you added to the list.

                • @Twix: Its a ticketing process with nbn that we have to undertake.

                  • +1

                    @[Deactivated]: Website feedback.

                    1. When you hover over any button there is no URL preview.
                    2. Your chat feature keeps auto popping up when you go to a different page even after I manually close it.
                    • @Twix: Thanks for the feedback. Im not sure on how URL previews work but ill pass that one on.

We've alredy reached out to Livechat about the annoyance of the chat popup over and over, they say its a standard feature that we cannot remove. Given our whole business revolves around online chat we are looking for an alternative chat vendor.

  • Hey, nope. We've only just launched today. We are using a generic legal template pack however.

    • +1

If one was looking to start an RSP, where would they find a copy of this generic legal pack?

      • Theres a few telecom lawyers in sydney that offer this service.

      • Just google it.

"I declare that shall I RSP jump causing this company to go broke. I will donate my left kidney and right reproductive organ to pay off the creditors"

        • You do you :)

    • Now are you sure you're not telling porkies? I'm seeing some very strange results when searching the ABR website for say Zoom Broadband, Commtek and a former director of a former RSP?
