    $90 for 100mb rofl?

    • +5

Is that before or after the $15 discount?
Even $75p/m is far from competitive for a 100/20 NBN plan.

      UPDATE
Wow, full price is $105 so $90 is after the discount, that’s Telstra level pricing and they always have big discount promotions ect
I want to live in a world where pricing is honest but that’ll never happen. $100 off $200 seems to sell more than $90 everyday.

      • +3

Yep it's terrible pricing. idk why people post about Origin internet so much

        • +5

because you can just churn out after receiving the points

      • And to top it up, cgnat only only you want to pay $5 extra for static ip

        • Whats the benefit of a static ip?

  • Only would consider this for a sign up and cancel. But seems will be at least $65 for as the points so debating if it’s worth it

  • +9

Origin use the Superloop network to provide nbn services.

    Origin 100/20 $90/m for 6 months = $540 - $100 for Points = $440.
    Superloop 100/20 $75/m for 6 months = $450.

    • The real DD

    • So good to churn from superloop if you're at end of 6 mths?

      • Superloop want 30-days notice but some OzBargainers have got out of it early.

      • It’s actually easier just to speak to customer service and they’ll give you the same offer for the next six months

    • +3

$10/month off per month if you use Origin for energy.

    • points are loaded into account after 45 days, you can just churn after paying $180 for 2 months nbn

Your Everyday Rewards points will be loaded onto your account approximately 45 days after you signed up to your Origin internet plan, provided that your Origin internet plan remains active at that time, and your Everyday Rewards account remains linked to your Origin internet account.

      • +1

In reality point will be in the account within less 30 days, so you're still ahead.

    • +1

Meanwhile I'm paying $89/m for gigabit with Superloop.

  • +1

Seems to be offering 12 months free Paramount+ too, if that helps anyone.

    • +1

Very strict T&Cs on the Paramount offer. Can’t say if they are enforcing those but things like “completely never had anything trial or paid” are mentioned.

  • Is a period to rejoin and take the deal? Was with origin 6 months ago

  • deal updated:

New nbn/OptiComm Service: 20,000 Everyday Rewards Points, Free 12-Month Paramount+ Standard, $15/Month off for 6 Months @ Origin

  • +1

Paramount+ declined all my cards although they successfully pended my $1 on my each card

  • For me it works out to be $20 for 10,000 qantas points (=20k reward points). if I go with nbn 50 and cancel after 2 months. Probs not worth the hassle.

    • How $20? If so $20 for 10,000 points is a steal!!

My churn experience with the previous deal (which didn't have the $15/month discount) on Opticomm:

    1. Called Exetel (free VoIP call) to schedule service cancellation in 30 days.
    2. Applied for Origin with connection in 30 days (after promotion end date) and option to cancel existing service on connection. Connection username immediately available in online portal. $5 connection fee debited next business day.
    3. Received Paramount+ code 2 business days after signup.
    4. On connection date, received email confirming service activation (on UNID Port 2) at 10.10 am. Exetel service (on VLAN ID 1) stopped working within a minute. Received bill for first month.
    5. Online chat with Origin (using a different internet connection) to get connection password.
    6. Updated modem settings with connection username and password to connect on VLAN ID 2.
    7. Received ER points 2 days after activation (32 days after signup).
    8. Called Origin ($0.25 VoIP call) to schedule service cancellation, then switched back to Exetel.
    9. Received second bill on disconnection date with pro rata adjustment. Had around 3.5 hours of no internet between service switch.
    10. No direct debit for first bill. Remaining balance debited as per second bill.

I didn't cancel immediately after receiving the points but I could have done by the fourth day which makes the potential minimum cost $14.42 ($73 25/10 plan bundled; excluding call costs/other overheads) for 20,000 ER points, even if you see $0 value in the internet service and the Paramount+ code. The points are worth at least $95 depending on what discount you get buying Woolworths/Big W/WISH/etc. gift cards (or less if you can't shop effectively at Woolworths/Big W/etc.).

Other notes: I kept my Exetel VoIP service active and it continued to work after the switch; If I knew Origin don't bother emailing/texting me the connection password, I would have tried to get it via online chat before the switch.

    • Hi @SocietyBox, quick question, when you switch back to Exetel, do you get new customer offer price for the next 6 months? Thanks..

    • What's the point of scheduling for 30 days?

      • +1

@yoyoz23 I did but I signed up as someone else. I wasn't going to go for it at first as I didn't stay away for even a month but their signup page is broken for existing customers and has been for months.

@didactw Exetel has a 30-day-notice cancellation policy. But it meant I could get the points earlier (counting from activation day) and cancel the service earlier.

    • I got activated Tuesday (chose a 30 day delay). No Paramount or points yet but as soon as they dropp I’ll be cancelling

Correction - just checked and points landed today. If i don’t see the Paramount sign up in the next few days will just cancel anyway

  • If anyone grabs this offer and doesn’t want Paramount, let us know :)

    • It'll expire after 1 month? :S

    • Code PM'd.

  • Anyone have issues with it not being available at their address? No issues with AussieBB or Leaptel but they can't provide me a connection? The block across the road is available..

  • Since someone got a paramount code, I'm also in the same boat :D

    • I got you, check your DMs

  • +1

Cut my losses on Paramount. $7.28 for 20k points. Not bad

    • How many days from ordering and service activation did it take to receive the points?

      • +2

30’days for activation. 2 more days for points. Ended up paying for just 3 days - score!
