points were credited after first month for me, churned to another provider after getting the points

    • +1

Why churn so quickly, not good speeds or price?

      • +7

$83/ month for 25/10 isn't exactly sharp pricing is it

        • +1

          Damn that is ridiculous!!!

      • better prices elsewhere

    • that's the plan 😉

  • Up to 100 MBit for opticomm is a joke.

    • I haven’t looked yet is that the max?

    • They’ve the 1gb plan under “faster opticomm”.

      • Didn't see that part. Thanks

I don't know if it's worth the hassle for $100 bucks for me.

  • Opticomm adds also 12 months of paramount plus

  • Your Everyday Rewards points will be loaded onto your account approximately 45 days after you signed up to your Origin internet plan, provided that your Origin internet plan remains active at that time, and your Everyday Rewards account remains linked to your Origin internet account.

so you need two months. minimum cost $166 for 20000 EDR (10000 qantas). not really a great deal.

      so you need two months

When I did this a year ago the points credited on day 32 and I received a pro rated bill for the second month after I cancelled. Assuming that's still the case, you may not be on the hook for the full two months.

      minimum cost $166

The cost is just the difference between what you're currently paying and what Origin charge. For me it was only ~$30 extra which was well worth it considering the amount of points I earned.

  • Is this still a white label ABB product, or have they changed provider?

    • I believe they are Superloop now. I’ve been with Origin for over 2 years (since they were with ABB) and you can tell the difference with sudden drops in speed at anytime during the day now. I’m moving to Buddy Telco for this reason. (I’m FTTN if that helps)

      • That's a real shame, as Origin was one of the cheapest ways to get an ABB connection.

I've always rated it as (in my experience): ABB > SL > TPG > Vocus

  • Is it a real hassle to churn on Opticomm?

  • Anyone know if I sign up before December 3, however I set connection date end of December, will I still get the EDR points? Need to give Exeter 30 days noticed.

    • I’m doing just that and I received the Paramount+ activation code 2 business days after signup. The EDR points won’t arrive in time for me to tell you.
