I think the best one is the Amex Titanium 275k points (if you're earning enough) pretty much takes the AF down to $75 if traded in for cashback.

    • Sure it has its benefits but just remember that points are transferred to Qantas 2:1, so its effectively 137,500 QFF and this card is a lot more accessible.

      What titanium card?

And what do you mean, the 275k points is less value than the AF?

      • *sorry amex Platinum.

I see 70k and 50k in Incognito. So it's targeted.

But how are we humans supposed to use the points when QF are changing their reward seats to only release 3 months out?

    • Yeah I've recently decided to give up on trying to get the best frequent flyer points deals. Cancelled my old CC+Qantas points package and got a new fee-free (with min spend) card, and will use the bank's internal cashback system instead.

      The trick is we don't.

I have the better part of 700k points that i can't use thanks to their shitty availability.

      • If you are looking at the back of the calendar, you can find Japan Airlines availability into Europe and North America and Malaysian Airlines to Paris.

        • Out of Melb/Syd/Bris yep
Out of Perth there's next to nothing :(

          • @Drakesy: Yeah Perth you are a bit out of luck :(
But you might be able to find J availability on the redeyes from PER to MEL/SYD and you can continue your journey from there.

    • Wait what is this for real? When does it kick in?

If you have more than 2 apps on the last 12 months they will deny you this card…

    • That sounds rough - is it 2 applications with Amex, or any card provider?

      • +3

Any card. Amex doesn’t like churners

    • Yep, keep getting rejected for Amex now.

    • +1

I was rejected a year ago but then got approved this year in Feb, having had more than 2 other applications in the last 12 months. Not sure where you got that data from.

  • Would I be eligible if I hold a subsidiary card?

    • No. Although you may be targeted to upgrade your card to the gold or platinum QFF CC, this would depend on whether you have had any late payments, spend amount, and other factors. I was given the opportunity to upgrade from the basic annual fee free discovery amex QFF CC and got 50k points bonus for $3k spend in 3 months.

  • anyone know how many months to wait to reapply after the rejection letter?

    • You can apply as many times as you want, although I'd refrain from doing that has they check your credit. You can consider other CC or choose a lower tier of the same card, then work your way up to this card via invitation.

I had one of these for two years. Cancelled last year.
Likes: Lounge passes (Qantas and Amex lounges), Qantas Wine premium membership (free delivery, early access offers, I still seem to have it), rate of points earning.
Dislikes: Amex website deliberately obscures your spending by dividing it into narrow date ranges and displaying an outdated total. The $450 travel credit is only for the American Express travel website which has nothing but full fares. Meanwhile airlines are offering cut-priced tickets that might save you more. So yes there's a $450 travel voucher offset, but it's $450 in name only.

I think I have the same card and you can book a ticket using your $450 travel credit (through the American Express travel website), then cancel the flight within 24hours and get the $$ credited back to your account. So effectively no card fee.

      • Do you also get to keep the 2 lounge invitations from Qantas? Or does that work differently? Also, I'm fairly certain you can only book Qantas flights for the travel credit to go through.

        • The lounge invitations are annual. So you either use them or they expire. I've no idea whether you would still have them if you cancelled the card before the year was up. I made sure to use mine. Yes only Qantas flights.

  • Does anyone see 100k offer?

    • says 70k for me incognito

  • Had this card twice and been rejected twice since,I have excellent credit score and no reasons to be denied,I feel if you churned their card you go on a blacklist, they have a special algorithm to deny churners. This card once open a time was the easiest to get.

Got the shits with them and gone to our toothless tiger AFCA about their prejudicial practise, don't expect any results, had to vent somehow ….

    • You vented in mid-February and mentioned opening an AFCA case then. What have they done since then?

  • Only offers me 50K points after a $5K spend. Incognito or not.

  • They said it would take 7 weeks……still waiting

Threatened NAB with AFCA and got a card
