Google One Storage Monthly/Yearly 100GB (A$0.50/$5.02) 200GB (A$1.00/$10.04) 2TB (A$2.51/$25.11) @ Google Turkey (VPN Required)

Reposting this deal from 2021, credits to the original poster @Pricebeat and @neo479

Due to the significant change in currency exchange rates, prices are now around 50% lower than last year. I've done the currency conversions from Turkish Lira to Australian Dollars and the percentage of savings so you don't have to :)

Storage Monthly Cost (% Savings) Yearly Cost (% Savings)
100 GB AUD $0.50 (80% off AUD RRP) AUD $5.02 (80% off AUD RRP)
200 GB AUD $1.00 (77% off AUD RRP) AUD $10.04 (77% off AUD RRP)
2 TB AUD $2.51 (80% off AUD RRP) AUD $25.11 (80% off AUD RRP)
5 TB AUD $12.58 AUD $125.78
10 TB AUD $25.15 N/A
20 TB AUD $50.30 N/A
30 TB AUD $75.45 N/A

I remember doing this on an iPhone a few months back (as I don't have an android). So I'm guessing the device does not matter. I just resubscribed today to a new plan, on a PC. So here's my experience, and it took literally minutes.

Step 1: Change your Google payment profile to Turkey. If needed, use a fake address simulator like this one

Step 2: VPN (fly) to Turkey using the deal link above (I used the free Windscribe Chrome extension; although it was a bit tricky since Windscribe kept connecting me to random Turkey locations - in this case just disconnect and reconnect until you land on Istanbul or something, or use a different VPN. Nord VPN does not work). if the currency is shown in Turkish Lira, you've hit the jackpot

Step 3: Subscribe to the plan of your choice. Use a credit/debit card (preferedly with no international fees)

Step 4: Fly back home

EDIT 2:27 AM: After serious testing I've found the following:

  1. Regards to AussieMark's comment here

    • I just did some testing and it looks like you can share your Google One with family members - IT'S POSSIBLE! The only catch is you have to add the family members / accounts into the family first, before taking one of the accounts and subscribing through this deal. TO ADD FAMILY MEMBERS GO TO https://families.google.com/families

  2. For those who currently have Youtube Premium from Argentina, and want to sign up to this deal on top on the Google account - IT'S POSSIBLE, simply create a new payment profile for Turkey

    • If pricing initially shows Turkish but switches back to AUD, try this method: You might see the 3 columns show Australian pricing, but select the 2tb and go to next screen and check it changes to TRY currency. if this doesn't work, then I think you have to delete the Australian payment profile. You can always make a new one after, but be aware that deleting your Australian profile will destroy all your Google Play Credits
    • You can create a new payment profile by following these steps by alcheron: go to https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings and clicking the pen icon next to "Country/Region" and a link to create a new profile should pop up. You can then add details for the Turkish profile.

Hope this helps!

EDIT 12:00 PM: You need to turn on family sharing after signing up to this plan to actually share the storage. To do this, go to the Google One site and click on the Gear settings icon (alternatively click on this link, then go to "Manage Family Settings" and toggle it on. This step assumes you've sared it with other members before signing up to this plan, as you cannot add family members anymore after if their account locations are not in the same country

Please note the process can be easy for some people, harder for others, or may not work at all. Copying some notes from @bargainsgrabber

  • There is no need for aggression in instances where you are unable to subscribe to an international Netflix account. Share your experience so everyone can chip in and help out. There are plenty of examples where hacks shared on this platform do not work for some people, but may work for others:
    • Modem reset for faster internet,
    • Cash back program purchase tracking,
    • Price matching an unobtainable deal or price error,
    • Targeted bargains, and
    • Limited quantity items quickly or instant (bot) sellout.
  • Similarly we know there are cash back users who follow every single step for cash back (turn off ad blocker, have no items in cart, do not click other links, etc.) on their purchases and it does not work, its probably best to move on.There are many users who successfully use this hack and enjoy paying half the price of the Australian membership. Unfortunately there are also many users who have been unable to sign up to Netflix Turkey or Argentina. After all it is intended for people who reside in Turkey or Argentina. If it does not work, I am not affiliated with any of the entities listed below or linked to and cannot guarantee any outcome. I can only read comments on this platform and others to share them with you. Your patience is appreciated. Please do not take it personally.

    • How about non manager account. Can a non manager family member share the 2tb plan with other members while they are still in Au. I mean exactly same setup except the Turkush google account a non manager member?

      • +2

        Yes you can

  • What if I already had a Turkish payment profile (for youtube), how do I avail 100 GB, pls advise :)

    • If your payment profile is already Turkish and you’re not looking at any family sharing set up, if you log into that account then go to Google storage page (https://one.google.com/u/0/storage?hl=en-GB&utm_medium=web&u…) it should just work for you? i.e. it’s already displayed in TYR?

      • Looks like my Google play profile is from Australia. I think I should delete this profile and recreate one later.

  • I tried and gave up after an hour.

    • Me too. Don't know what's wrong. :(

  • +1

got it to work after removing my AUS payment profile, kept my ARG for youtube premium.

  • +6

Couldn't get this to work on my main account (TRY prices changed to AUD as soon as I logged into my Google account) and I didn't want to delete my existing AUD profile so this is what I did to get it to work:

    (VPN off)
    - Create a new Google account.
    - With my existing Google account, invited new one to my existing Family Group (which has India YT Premium).
    - With new account, accepted the Family group invitation. Received email saying I now have access to YT Premium.
    - With new account, go to Google Pay. There is no existing payment profile so I added my 28 Degrees credit card with my real name but a random Turkish hotel address.

(VPN on - using Private Internet Access Turkey server)
    - With new account, go to the Google One sign up link. Verified the prices are shown in TRY and signed up to 2TB plan. Payment went through fine on 28 Degrees card (I was not contacted by them to verify).

    (VPN off)
    - With new account, go to Google One homepage (one.google.come/home), press the gear icon up top right, press Manage Family Settings and enable "Share Google One with Family".
    - My existing Google account and all others within family group received an email saying Welcome to Google One.
    - Verified we now all have 2TB storage and the Google One circle showing around our profile photo on Google's pages.

Thanks Arch Angel for the clear instructions. I nearly gave up. Was pulling my hair out but your instructions were as easy.as.

    • This is just the info I needed.

    • Did your main google.play store change?

      • Nope it didn't because my main profile wasn't changed from Aus. I created a new account for the Turkey profile. If you follow my instructions then your main will remain Aus (or whatever else you have it set to)

    • Many thanks Arch Angel! This is the guide that worked. I was shown the Australian pricing first but once I chose a plan the correct Lira pricing showed up.

  • If I have 100gb plan already and say want to upgrade to 200gb plan, what is the price? Is it $10 or is it less?

  • +2

Here's what I think is the simplest way to do it.

    1. Setup your Google family using your existing accounts - https://families.google.com/families
    2. Create a new clean google account and add a Turkish payment profile - https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings
    3. Invite the new account to your Google family - https://families.google.com/families
    4. Subscribe to Google One with your new account in TRY (I used PIA VPN whilst doing this) - https://one.google.com/about/plans
    5. Enable family sharing using your new account - https://one.google.com/settings

Now all your family members should have access to Google One including the new storage.

    • +2

Agree!! But I’d invite family members first before setting up Google One

      • +3

Yes definitely - i should have made that explicit at Step 1

        • Thanks, this was the easiest instructions to follow that worked.

    • I just wanted to check with you.
      For example:
      1. Family Manager (A) has no Google One subscription
      2. Family Manager adds two new family members (B and C).
      3. One of the family member's (B) creates a Turkish payment profile and then buys the 2TB plan.

I was pretty certain that A and B would share the 2TB quota but member C would not get any Google One subscription benefits.
Is your family set up that way? Could you check if your 3rd member of the family has the 2TB?

      • Mine is Fam manager has the 2TB and shared soo B and C get the shared 2tb

But in your scenario, I’m pretty sure all members of fam should get it too

      • Yep that's how mine is setup - A, B and C all have the benefits

    • Do the rest of your google family get the Turkish Play Store (and not be able to see local apps like the ANZ banking app), or is it only the new clean Turkish google account that is stuck there?

      • +1

It looks like my whole family has the Turkey play store (I think, only one of 6 members in my family has an android - but this device I can't see some apps)

I'm yet to spend some time on this, might be best for me to remove that member out lol

        • +1

You can use Aurora Store app to download & update the region restricted apps or you can just create a 2nd account on that phone with Australia region and switch easily by pressing the little icon in the Play Store search bar.

      • +1

Yep whole fam has Turkish play store. Luckily I’m not too bothered cos main phone now is iPhone

      • Just the clean new account for me. Everyone else still on Aust

  • +2

    after several tries, finally successful.

    Thank you

For me: I had to delete the australian profile, else kept coming the AU price everytime.

    • Me too. Then after deleting the profile, you will get an email saying "profile will be deleted permanently in 30 days." I have asked the customer support to restore my profile and see whether I can get my $9 credits back in play store…

  • I setup a new account, added it to my family, only ever added a turkey profile.

However, always stuck in AUD. I'm connected successfully via VPN.

Not sure why it is defaulting to AUD.

Play store shows Turkey as the country.

I have cleared cache and data of chrome, play store, Play store services.

If I try to proceed paying in AUD, it throws an error

    • Which VPN?

      • Tried with windscribe Android app, chrome extension and also tried clear VPN.

No luck with any of the 3.

What is my IP showed me in Istanbul too

        • I dont think it has anything to do with VPN, maybe your payment profile or Google account - something isn't right

If you open Google One sign up page in incognito, logged out, what currency does it show?

          • @I Smell Pennies: Shows TRY if logged out and incognito with vpn on.

As soon as I log in, goes to AUD.

There is no Australian address or profile set and there never was. It was a brand new Google account.
Play store shows country being turkey.
            Payment profile is only turkey.

            • @edrift: I'm in the same boat.

I wonder if the card number recognises it's been used in Australian account?

              • @parker2004au: Yes potentially. But somehow this worked ages ago when I did the Argentina YouTube subscription with the same credit card.

I'm using a Macquarie card which I think someone else said they had success with

        • It might show AUD on the front screen, but when you goto pay it shows TRY

          • @atlas: Nah when I do that it throws an error saying "something went wrong on our end"

            • @edrift: This keeps happening to me too and I read somewhere that it could take 48 hours to update payment country so I will try again then.

              • +1

@ballistykx: Apparently if you turn VPN off it works and the error disappears. Someone did that here

            • @edrift: I’m also getting this error. @edrift if you find a solution please post.

        • I think windscribe is a bit hit and miss. PIA worked for me first time.

  • it keeps saying "Purchase failed. Please try again" for me

  • how do you tell if YT premium is still on my Argentina payment profile, and Google One is on my Turkish profile?

  • Wonder if u can do this with google game pass for like India. $16 a year instead of $44.

  • +1

After a solid hour, it worked!
Had to delete AUS payment profile & it worked for me :D

    • Downside - unable to set up a new payment profile (AUS).

      Any pointers?

      • +1

What's the issue? Following the link in the OP, click the pen icon next to country etc

  • +1

Worked once I deleted my aussie payment profile… Thanks OP

  • +2

Worked after a few tweaks people have shared above. Thank you for the great post and all that have contributed to it.

  • +2

    Got it to work guys!

I initially created a family using my main account and thought it was risky. So I created a secondary account and invited it to the family. Then I created a fake address and a one time use zip card as the payment method. It wouldn't let my second account join the family as I was "in a different country" so I created my payment profile after I was in, which worked.

I used windscribe and tried a couple of times to land on Turkey and viola. Purchased 2 TB for $25 and I shared it with my other accounts.

My main account is a beneficiary so hopefully it's safe if things go pear shaped.

    Hopefully this helps.

  • +1

Worked for me but like many others, I had to delete my Australian payment profile. Just a heads up for anyone else not seeing TRY on the sign up page.
Strangely enough, this wasn't an issue for when I signed up to Turkish YT premium

  • +5

FYI ALL - You don't have to delete the Australia Payment Profile. I did like this:
    - Create Payment Profile in Turkey from web
    - VPN to Czech (or another country), create Payment Profile for Czech via Android Phone, and switch to Czech country from the Android device. (In Google Play Store)
    - Go to web and close/delete Czech payment profile.
    - Now it will switch to Turkey Payment profile automatically.

I subscribed to 2 TB plan ;) Thanks OP.

    • +1

      Ahh nice find!

    • +2

Please note that, you can only switch country once per 12 months. (but look like it's a bug that you can delete the current payment profile for the current country, and it will switch back to the latest created one).

  • Guys help me please!!! Urgently need to increase my Google one drive. I use Indian profile for YouTube payment which I’m happy with.
Now how can I change my Google payment profile I can’t find it anywhere?

For 100GB I am getting $24.99 AUD a year. Am I using Indian profile? I checked my IP I’m using Turkey Istanbul IP.

I would like YouTube to use Indian profile Rupees currency and Google one in Lira.

    • You can create a new payment profile by following these steps by alcheron: go to https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings and clicking the pen icon next to "Country/Region" and a link to create a new profile should pop up. You can then add details for the Turkish profile.

  • nothing is working for me. i deleted my payment profile. set up a turkist address. used windscribe vpn to connect to turkey. but still getting aud pricing.

What a Turkey of a deal!

Omg finally it worked. I have been trying since last night. My payment wasn’t going through then I disabled vpn and it went through.
Also note I deleted my Australian payment profile. Afterwards I added my Australian profile. All good so far. I subscribed to 200GB.

Can someone please let me know how to transfer everything from my Dropbox to Google drive?

    • probably an app or faster way.. but very rudimentary way - map both Dropbox and Google drive as mapped drives and robocopy

      • Thanks mate. How do I map both on my PC? Download the apps and drag and drop?
Is it possible to transfer using my iPhone as I hardly use my own PC and with work PC I don’t want to do this.

        • +1

Yea on PC should just be drag and drop .

not sure with iphone - never tried to be honest. You 'could' download everythign from Dropbox to your iphone and then reupload to G-Drive… that's just the dumb/basic way i would do it if space on iphone permitted.

  • Hi guys, can someone pls help me to change my Google Play Store to AUD? Everything is showing in TRY and I am unable to change county to Australia. :(

    • You can't. This can't be switched back for 12 months. But you can try talking to google support to see if they can do this for you.

      • Please advise what should I tell Customer team to get back my Australian profile live in Google Play Store ;)

    • it happed with me as well after i deleted my AUD payment method and subscribed to google one. now i think we have to wait for one year to change back it to Aus.

    • have U tried what others are doing… delete the Turkish profile… then recreate an Aussie one

      • I get an error when recreating the Australian one. It doesn't load my normal CC. Not sure what I've done wrong.

Plus if you delete the Turkish one you lose the Google one benefit.

        • +1

google prob banned/flagged your cc just like mine. U don't lose google one benefit..it will expire after a year.

Hello all! I spent the last few days testing various options to get family sharing worked and have put together a comprehensive guide on how to get this working. This is just a consolidation of the collective information in this comment thread, so thanks to all of you for testing this!

    Guide on family accounts

    Important notes:
    - The Family Manager should be the one that purchases the subscription via a Turkish VPN. I tried doing steps 3-5 on a family member account and just kept getting prices in AUD.
    - I recommend creating a new email address for this purpose as it will require you to delete your payment profile from Google (which I did not want to do on my main address)
    - I would do as much as you can in private/incognito mode to ensure nothing gets in your way. Note you'll need to make sure the VPN you're using is enabled in incognito

Step 1: Set up your Google Family
Set up your Google Family with the following:

    • The family manager as the account you're going to purchase the subscription through. (I used a new email for this so I could keep my existing one as normal)
    • All the family accounts required - invited and accepted. You will not be able to change this after purchase.

    • Note all accounts must be in the same country to join Google Family. See Step 3 for details on how to change location

    • I already had a family so I started from scratch for ease. You can delete an existing family by logging in as the family manager, clicking the menu icon in the top left, and clicking "Delete family group"

    Step 2: Share One storage
On the family manager account, go to Google One settings and ensure "Share Google One with family" under "Manage family settings" is switched on.

NOTE: I was not able to get to this option with my new account, so I ended up purchasing a 100gb subscription first to give me a valid Google One account

    Step 3: Change Location
Change the location of the family manager to Turkey
    - Go to Google Payment settings
    - Click the existing payment profile, and click "edit" next to country, and click "create new profile"
    - Select Turkey as the country and enter an address. You can use the following URLs to help:
    ○ bestrandoms.com/random-address-in-tr
    ○ worldpostalcode.com/turkey
    - Delete your non-Turkish profile
    ○ On the settings page, select the non-Turkish profile, scroll to the bottom and click "close payments profile", and follow the prompts
    ○ NOTE make sure to validate it is closing the correct profile before confirming. Sometimes even though my Australian profile was selected it was trying to close my Turkish one. I fixed this by switching profiles to Turkish, then switching back again

    Step 4: Use a VPN
Use a VPN to "fly" to Turkey.

    • I used the extension Windscribe which was super easy and even let me specify a location in Istanbul. I'm not affiliated with them, it's just the one many recommended here.

    Step 5: Purchase your subscription
go to Google One Plans to purchase your subscription

    • If you're seeing prices in TRY, you're in the money!
    • If not, close your windows and start again in incognito mode with the VPN on.
    • If you're still not seeing it in TRY, you may have missed a step or something else might be wrong.

    Step 6: …profit?
Double check all your other accounts are seeing the shared storage to validate everything worked

Note that I do not currently use the YouTube premium deal in Argentina, but may look at updating this guide at a later stage with steps on that too.

    • +3

FYI the family manager doesn't have to be the Turkish account. I setup a new Turkish account and got it to join my existing Australian family. Did not even have to delete a non-Turkish payment profile.

Secondly, a lot of people see AUD pricing but if they click next, the pricing on checkout will show in TRY.

      • I re-tested this and you're right - you can join the family and it applies. The pricing does eventually change to TRY. Wish I'd figured that out before going through all that…

It has the additional benefit of keeping your Google Play account in AUD instead of TRY, which really bugged me. I've since deleted my Turkish profile and will just create a new subscription in 12 months with a non-main family member

      • I created a new profile, bought storage, invited a family member but when a family member clicks "accept invitation" invitation (while VPN is set to Turkey), the following message pops up "Can't Join Family Group It looks like you're not in the same country as the person who invited you."
Is there a workaround without changing address/payment profile of another family member?
Or perhaps, is it possible to change my address/payment profile back to AU straightaway and then invite family members?

        • The main issue is that the family group needs to be set up before you purchase storage or Google gets cranky at you.

There isn't really a workaround to the country issue. Even changing payment profile isn't enough; you need to physically delete the other country or it won't work.

You could delete the one that purchased the subscription (as the subscription will continue to its original end date), but I've not directly tested whether cancelled subscriptions still go into the family storage pool if you join the family after they have been cancelled.

    • I followed this and got it to work-
Just make sure you have to shared your storage to your family members in google one settings for your family manager.

Thanks for the steps, I like this method so I can leave my main account intact without any fluffing around.

    • Thank your for your detailed instructions.
I managed to purchase Google One storage with a new account.
I invited a family member but when a family member clicks "accept invitation" (while VPN is set to Turkey), the following message pops up "Can't Join Family Group It looks like you're not in the same country as the person who invited you." As the family memeber has an AU payment profile, I don't want it to be affected by changing it to Turkey.
Is there a workaround without changing address/payment profile of another family member?
Or is it possible to change my new account address/payment profile from Turkey to AU and then invite family members?

      • +1

You clearly didn't follow the instructions in order.

You needed to setup the family first

        • When I clicked on your link 'Google Family' it went to 404 Not Found.
I guess, I stuffed up the order of actions.
Do you know if I now change my new account address/payment profile from Turkey to AU I would be able to invite family members?
Or is the only option to try to ask for the refund and start all over again?

          • @bob19: add aud profile to your family manager account and then add your main account to family… then remove, fly to turkey with vpn and purchase

            • @sifun: Yes, I got it. Unfortunately I have already purchased it in Turkey with the new account but the family members (incl. my main account) are in AU. I didn't add them before the purchase.
So the question is - if I change my new Turkey account profile to AU, will I be able to invite AU family members?
Logic says I should be able to do it as then everyone will be in AU. But then there may be some other T&C to prevent this…

              • @bob19: Yeah, I would say remove the family manager account turkish profile, then add australian profile and then try add your main acct to family. Give it a go?

                • @sifun: I managed to cancled it and get a refund. Will try to set everything from scratch carefully following the recommendations. As I have now learnt, the most important step is to invite family members before flying to TRY and subscribing to google one storage.

        • I managed to cancel it and they would issue a refund.
Will do everything properly next time.

          • @bob19: Who did you contact for refund. Can you share the link for chat or email?

            • @amsaini15: https://one.google.com/support
You need to find a good reason for your cancellation. Their policy says 'no refund'. So it all depends how luckly you are with the support rep who will either help you or not.

    • Did anyone notice that changing google pay profile to Turkey also removes some apps from your play store…like I cannot install/find Wilson Parking app and few movies on Google Movies aren't available as I now have Turkey payment profile.
