WOEX2022

I just found this via whistle out and thought it was a decent deal, hopefully, it's not a dupe.

Get an Amazon eero 6 WiFi router for only $99 (normally $157.95) on sign up to an eligible Superloop nbn plan by 13 March 2022.

  • Customers must nominate WhistleOut as their referral channel and use the promo code WOEX2022 at time of purchase to receive the hardware discount.
  • Offer valid on FTTP, FTTC and HFC technology types only.
  • 250/25 and 500/50 is only available on FTTP and HFC.
  • Returning customers [who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six (6) month discount promotion] will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

Just signed up for 100/20 for $69 a month for 6 months using the code above, fingers are crossed superloop provides a decent NBN service, they seem to be popular here on OZB.

Cheers.

Mod Note: WOEX2022 is a generic code is from WhistleOut, and not OP's Referral.

    Anything for existing customers?

    • They automatically applied a $15 off per month for 6 months when we logged on to check today, so maybe get in contact and ask for $15 off because others are getting it?

With the referrals we've made for others, we're paying like $65/month for 250Mbps

      • Where do you see that? I cant see anything on mine. Been with them 2 years. Im on 100/40.

        • Try and change your current plan and there should be one listed for the same speed tier at a cheaper price.

          • +1

@daowiies: There is not, only for plans above. I pay $89.95 now for 100/40. 100/20 is same price, and 250/25 is $99 for 6 months. But im not interested in paying more.

            • +1

@Xizor: Looks like you're right, discount is only on the 250/25 and 1000/50 plans.

I went from 250/25 on $110 p/m, to 250/25 on $90 p/m then 1000/50 for $120p/m (inc. referral) when it became available so I guess it was a bit different for me since it's always been applicable…

            • @Xizor: Wow, so lucky, I'm paying $98.95 for 100/40 and my referral credit has expired too….I'm actually looking for another provider now but there's not many on the market that provide 100/40 as an option other than Superloop and ABB.

              • +1

                @b-t: I guess i shouldn't whinge too much then :)

              • +1

@b-t: Launtel, Future Broadband and Mate offer 100/40.

                • +3

                  @Twix: Oh thanks for that.

Just checked Mate offer 100/40 for $89/mth which is a slight improvement to what I'm paying.

                  Launtel is weird pricing at $4, a day? => 28 * 4 = $112+?

Future Broadband is $100/mth for 2.5TB, or $110/mth for Unlimited, wow.

                  • @b-t: Launtel is great, but the pay by the day is only good for some.
Mate is very good at the moment.

              • +2

@b-t: If you’re willing to ask, Telstra did the 250 plan for me for $90pm

    • +1

I called them today and the offer is taking $10 off instead of $20, but lock-in contract for 12 months… No deal…

    • Looks like I can save $4 a month. Better than nothing I guess.
      https://superloop.com/legal/competitions-promotions.html

    • Cancel the service and sign up under another name. The discount will apply.

    • +2

Sorry, but I think this deal is only for imaginary customers.

    • how is the service?
      terrible reviews off late
      https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/superloop

      • No issues here. Using superloop fttp.

  • +3

It's not $20 off across the board, the slower plans get a much smaller discount, and vice versa.

  • +5

Isn't it that price without a code?

    • -1

      Nope.
AussieBB was raising the price of my connection, so I jumped on Superloop. That was 1 month ago. So I'm a little angry/jelly on missing out on this discount. I did have a look on their website and WhistleOut, this discount wasn't available at the time, so it's definitely new.

  • As I understand, there is already an existing offer of $20 discount, without the need for a code?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/641893

I signed up a couple of months ago on the 100/20 for $69.95 (inclusive of the $20.00 discount for 6 months).

Does this code give a further $20 discount on top of that?

    • +1

      No

      • No the code in this deal isn't even for a discount on the internet plan, it's a code for a discount on the eero router if you bundle it. This deal is just a dupe of the long running $20 off deal.

  • +2

I swapped from AussieBB for 6m and it's comparable. I'd happily swap back for a discount.. just depends if it's been 6 m for me yet

  • +3

    From the T&Cs:

Returning customers [who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six (6) month
discount promotion] will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

    • +1

Anyone know how that 12 months is counted? From when your previous service with them disconnects?

      • I was able to sign up once my 6 months was up under a different name (same address) and discount was applied.

  • +6

What’s with all these $X off for 3 to 6 months nonsense the telcos have been pulling these days.

    • +3

NBNCo wholesale discounting for specific campaigns has driven a lot of it.

  • +5

That's just their standard promo rate from here: https://www.superloop.com/consumer/home-broadband/nbn.html

In fact it's actually worse for 50/20 because that code makes 50/20 an extra $5/mo.

  • +1

do you guys having issue with superloop? i signed up about 1 week ago, and lost my nbn internet today. calling them is not working at all, waiting more than 1 hour 45 mins, still no answer. so hang up. tried web based live support, it is much faster, about 10 mins waiting, for someone to reply, but very slow on response. took me more then 40 mins on live chat, and telling me NBN fault, need raise it with NBN. don't understanding, when I was with Telstra, no issue at all, transferred to another one, got 1-2 times destruction with about 1 hour down time. Superlook, only signed up for 1 week, lost internet since 4pm afternoon, and now maybe with NBN Co but need 1-2 business days to confirm, looks like I will lost my internet for about 1 week now.

    • I've been with superloop for 2 months now on the 100/20 plan and have not had any issues.
Most likely it is an NBN problem.
At my last house I was with Optus and my connection was perfect for 2yrs. Then it started dropping out occasionally. Optus said it's an NBN problem. Had a tech visit and install an "attenuator" which did nothing. Had to get NBN back again and tell them they haven't fixed the problem - after a LOT of taking they checked the node and found it was water damaged - after that fix, perfect again.

Long story short: if you know your equipment in your house is good and set up properly, and the telco is not reporting an outage, it's NBN. And NBN are terrible to deal with.

      • +1

thanks, hopefully the NBN appointment will be in next couple of days. really need internet everyday :(

        • I totally understand, at my last house my internet was dropping out every 10 mins and NBN didn't want to send the tech back after he "fixed" the issue. Had to deal with poor a connection for a week I think
Edit: I hope your experience with NBN is better than mine

    • +1

      Superloop customer service is deadend.

Their network is reasonable good so I've been using them for a couple of years but I never bother calling them when there's an outage.

      • +1

what you do if there is an outage? and just wish the service will come back? i am wishing now…. hopefully my service will back tomorrow morning

        • Yeah, worth ask your neighbour how their nbn looks like. For superloop specific issues, they usually fix it within a few hours. Most unfortunate case is when it's your premise specific issue but it doesn't happen so often.

    • +1

Been with SL for a few years and found their support level is not quite as prompt as it's used to be.. Had an outage once and seek their callback as I was 455 on their queue.. They called me back nearly 5 hours later confirming I had nbn issues and no fix time.. Sigh.. alas still with them.

Anyway as of late I find their call waiting time quite long but agree their online chat service was much better. I asked them if they can do any deal for loyal customers and online gave me $5 off per month for 6 months (100/40). Not much but better than nothing..

As for my current service is still not good due to storm couple of weeks ago. Support told me they will credit back once official service is back.

So overall it's ok.. But definitely not as fantastic.

  • +9

Internet service is average, getting lots of dropouts where I am.

    Customer service is horrendous.

Expect to wait 1-2 hours on hold.

    • I've had one very short drop out in the first 3 weeks of connection which isn't great, but we'll see how it goes longer term. Aside from that, hasn't been too bad from a speed perspective.

I've found customer service has actually been quite good. Haven't ever had to wait too long and they have a request call back option after 10 or so mins. People I've spoken to have been pretty helpful/polite too.

Satisfied so far given I'm paying $55/month for 50/20 plan but ask me again in a couple of months.

    • +2

Doubtful that these dropouts are Superloop related. They’re far far more likely to be NBN. Don’t use Superloop to fix NBN issues. Churn to ABB and they’ll fix for good.

    • +1

That's a pretty common issue at the moment across call centres etc. The bank I work for has similar problems and it's hard to get new people at the moment. Leading to quite a few complaints.

As for superloop, I've been with them quite a while now and it's been pretty good. Only very rare dropouts and good speeds. I have plenty of rollover data on my Aldi mobile account so can just tether off the phone if it drops out. But as I mentioned this hardly ever happens.

    • No service issues with sl.
Agree their customer service isn’t great but overall no complaints.

    • +1

Second that customer service is horrendous. But I’ve had no service issues

    • +1

Agree, absolutely trash if you need to speak with them.

I had to move off them as I had an issue with the NBN connection itself, but needed to go via Superloops support. 2 hour wait times, they close at 8pm, so sometimes I would have an issue at 6pm and I wouldn't be able to get through until the next morning. They would then tell me that because my service was now working (resolved by itself at some point overnight), there wasn't anything they could do.

Moved to Aussie Broadband and got the root cause sorted super quick, plus they organised a $700 Credit from NBN.

      • Had a similar issue. Internet would drop out multiple times a week in the afternoon. Called so many times reporting the problem. They say NBN need to look at it but by the time they do it's working again so the case gets cancelled and nothing was ever done. Had enough of calling them repeating the same information and nothing was actually done about it until I made a complaint. Only then did the NBN technician come out to fix the issue.

OP just wants everyone to use their referral code. Superloop have had these deals for a while now

Also, I use superloop and they are great, my POI never goes above 40% capacity

    • +4

This is a generic code from Whistle Out. There is no referral link to the deal poster.

    • Generic Code is from WhistleOut

      • +1

It's also not a code for $20 off. It's a code for a discount on a bundled eero router. The $20 off is just the standard superloop new sign up discount and has nothing to do with the code or whistleout. Available as always on superloop.com.au

  • +6

I came from Aussiebb. With superloop, when you don’t have a problem they are ok value. But once you do, phone call waiting for "Perth" based support will take hours.

Was promised by the chat agent, that within 15 mins on the phone support there will be an option for call back. I just gave up after sick of hearing lousy music and marketing stuff for hours still no option for the call back.

This is where Aussibb is better, especially when you are working from home and you need that reliability, or at least some support when your connection is on and off every 5 damn minutes throughout the day.

Now i am scouring ozbargain for deal to move.

    • +1

this makes me want move to AussieBB now

      • +2

Ultimately you're paying for that service level with Aussie BB. No right or wrong, but that's why they charge more than Superloop.
Superloop network is great as long as you don't need quick support.
As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for :)
Heck, if you want really cheap, go with My Republic, under $100 for 1000/50 (for the for 6 months) , but there are multiple reasons for that!

    • Yep this ^

I am with AuussieBB, I had a dropout in the morning on a WFH day, checked there's was no scheduled maintenance or outages in my area so used the live chat on their website, turned out my 'IP ranges' was out/missing at their end. Something I didn't expect to ever happen but hey they managed to fix it within 5 minutes after identifying the issue during the chat.

  • Why does the link go to a sign-up page instead of an information page about plans…

    • -6

WOEX2022 is prob the Op referral

      • whistleOut Exclusive: Get an Amazon eero 6 WiFi router for only $99 (normally $157.95) with code WOEX2022, ends 13.03.22

        • I was with superloop on their $20 off for 6 month promo and on month 5 they emailed offering free eero6 if I signed up for a further 12 months

    • -2

So they get referral discount! Get to the back of the line like the rest of us and use the random referral code generator ! Lol

      • +1

SL have two spaces for codes, one for discounts, and one for referrals, so you can actually stack discount codes and referrals if you want to. Only the referrer gets a discount though. There is no referee benefit.

  • Any complaints about Superloop in Sydney West?

    • Recently had two dropouts in one single day but otherwise has been great, except for the FTTN itself

    • Mine is working fine. Hills Shire area

  • On their HFC no issues

  • Logged in and realised I was paying $5 extra for their 25/10 plan over standard rates. 'Switched' to the new plan.

  • +15

    You will enjoy Super Loop….

Until you need to contact them for technical/billing issues, then you wished you had gone with another provider.

    • +7

Seconding this, I tried cancelling and they hung up on me.

      • +1

Lol, I had the same issue several months ago while moving to MORE!!!

      • will it automatically cancel if we port out to a different ISP ?

        • +1

no, you need to cancel with the ISP

          • @Heybargain: oops! I thought it would be like mobile number porting, how can they bill us on the same port (except FTTP) ?

          • +1

            @Heybargain: I moved recently.

Five minutes after I signed up I got a text from Superloop, "Hi x, we have noted your Superloop NBN service has been transferred to another provider. If this is correct please reply with 'Yes' to close your account. If you require assistance or are unaware of this transfer, please call 1800 blah blah."

I replied "yes" and got "thank you for confirming, we have now closed your account. Superloop will miss you but would love to have you back if you ever wish to return."

I didn't need to talk to anyone.

  • This is not $20 off the 50 / 20 Mbps plan - just $10 monthly discount, bringing it down to $60 instead of $70.
Tangerine or Exetel 6 months for new customers is still cheaper.

    • Exetel is owned by Superloop now and they've migrated all customers onto the Superloop network now.
So yeah, if you want the Superloop network at a lower price, perhaps go with the Exetel brand.
      Just a side note :)

      • Just a side note :)

This was already discussed on the Exetel deal last year when the acquisition was announced.

It would be interested to see how easy it would be to jump from Extel to Superloop, and vice versa after 6 months.

        • +1

But they've only recently finished migrating customers onto Superloop.
You'll have to configure your modem still, as one requires username/password (exetel) PPoE, and one doesn't (Superloop) when transferring.
It's still easier moving between Superloop to Aussie Broadband, MyRepublic, Vodafone NBN etc as no configuring required from the customers end.

In other news, it's an odd move to see both the Superloop and Exetel brands shaping the 1000/50 plans in the last few days for new sign ups to 500/50 whilst charging the same.
Nice way to save spending money on CVC.

  • Do you have to pay for modem?

    • Nope.

  • +5

I would NOT recommend superloop. Too many network reliability issues and drop outs.

Then they make cancelling too difficult and dont accept cancellations by email - you have to queue up over phone. Ridiculous.

    • Can't you just email them?

      • +2

        Nah you must call up.

      • +2

They would not accept an email and said it was untrusted and someone could hack my email and send a cancellation to them by email. So they dont allow changes to accounts.

I can make changes with any other ISP by email. I guess its their excuse to reduce churn and have you wait on the phone.

        • +1

WTF that's poor form. I think I'd better churn before I get issues.

    • +3

I got them to call me. Failing that, TIO will be happy to help.

      • +4

Agree. Cancellation by email should be universally accepted. If they suspect its fraudulent they can always call you to confirm.

Its not right to expect the little guy to go into so much trouble to cancel a service, especially on a no term contract.

        • +9

Not everyone can even speak on the phone. They let you sign up online, refusing to let you cancel online is just there to punish you for leaving. It could be worse of course. I find the requirement for 30 days notice to be just another punishment for leaving.

        • +2

And they should even allow cancelling directly from the member dashboard.

    • If not Superloop, then who is good?

    • +1

You can cancel with Superloop via live chat. No questions asked. I requested it today, took about a 10.min wait.

    • +1

I was with SL for 2 years and thought the internet service was pretty rock solid (HFC). However, the customer service was turd house (non existent).

  • +1

Cheap if you property can actually achieve this speed…

All I can ever get is 28 download

  • +1

Im an existing superloop customer with the 100/40 plan.

i've been with a number of nbn providers; My republic, telstra, belong, Epic broadband (yes that one), and superloop.

Of the above ones i've tried. Superloop is by in large the best one. Consistently fast speeds. in the roughly 9 months i have been with them i have only noticed 2 unplanned outages which lasted no longer than 5 minutes, ofwhich they owned up to it with an email.

I'm a heavy internet using household; multiple gamers, running a server, streaming services, and WFH….besides the 2 mentioend outages i havent had any problems with superloop.

highly recommend them. Also, i just logged on as an existing customer and got $10 off my plan, i'm assuming this is to give back to existing customers as they are giving back to new customers.

    • +2

Epic Broadband. I saw the Whirlpool forum post on that one. A Fawlty Towers operation by the looks of it, with Basil as the service manager and Manuel as the network engineer Do you still suffer from PTSD :)

      • +1

I got my money back from my credit card provider from Epic, so it was just free internet for me. The actual service worked. Not terrible. Having already seen Buzz Telco and Mungi die, I was not surprised to see them go.

      • still having flashbacks of jake berry and his stereotypical young wannabe entrepenur linkedin page.

Managed to get my money back via my bank, but boy it was a hassle i didn't want to go through…..and i love how other NBN providers found out about the epic scandle, so they all started advertising on google "feeling let down by Epic broadband? sign up for XXX NBN"….some places were even giving exclusive discounts to former epic customers, which was nice.

I'm keeping an eye out for any business (especially internet provider) that has any involvement with either Jake Berry or Richard Kelly, this wasn't the first time they did it.
