This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app. Please see the archived thread (January 2017 - January 2022) for previous discussions.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

    Folks, I have an old iphone8 on ios 14.1. To install Nord, it needs 14.2 or higher.
    Next update takes me to 16. Is it okay to update to continue to use 3uTools or IFL? I only use these two methods usually.

      Do you have any newer iOS devices? Download Nord on your newer iPad/iPhone and then on your iphone8 go to the store 'purchased' tab and you can re-download it there and will prompt to download an older version.

      Alternatively for Nord instead of using the app you can just add a VPN to your iOS settings screen for it.

        I could just update the 8, but I'm never a fan of these iOS updates.

        I did see the add VPN screen under settings, but didn't know that I could add nord to it there. That's new for me. I'll google how to do that.

    Is the Android Studio method still working to set up. I know the syntax has changed for part 2C. Does Magisk need to be downloaded to C drive. I've got it downloaded to a directory on another drive. When I put in the new syntax without %LOCALAPPDATA%\Android\Sdk I get the Set path line followed by lots more script.

    I enter the set path command which this time includes %LOCALAPPDATA%

    Then re run the command rootAVD.bat system-images\android-33\google_apis_playstore\x86_64\ramdisk.img

    But then get this:
    D:\Programs\Magisk\rootAVD-master>rootAVD.bat system-images\android-33\google_apis_playstore\x86_64\ramdisk.img
    [] Set Directorys
    [-] Test IF ADB SHELL is working
    [!] adb.exe: no devices/emulators found
    [    ] no ADB connection possible

    Which I don't think is right.

    Any help appreciated?

    To those who had the Error A01 even in a genuine location, this is my conclusion.

    Unfortunately the device is locked, but not the account.

    I tried same account on a different ipad, it worked for genuine location as well as fake location.

    Why I am so sure? Because now I cannot register new accounts on the phone and it shows Error G09 right after registration process, before the first log-in.

    Why my iPhone 15 was locked? Well, I had to admit that I did not only use the accout for fuel, but also tricked 5 or 6 free donuts by registering using temporary email addresses :-((( and of course - fake birthdays.

            @jv: Does the location of the phone providing hotpdot matter, like the settings are the phone with 7/11 choppered to the low price location, and the one with hotsopt at the real location, or it should be the low price location too? or doesn't matter? cheers!

              @mountaineer: The phone providing the hotspot is on my home wifi. The same network as my 7-11 phone. No idea how it works… It just does. Done it 3 times so far and each time it fixed the error.

                  @exidez: Yep, it weird.

                  It has happened to me the last 3 times, and each time, the hotspot works, even though the host phone is on the same wifi network.

    Thanks!!! it did work for me. Use Kaspersky VPN was in france for my old iphone 7. Then open my paid app iMyFone Anyto on my windows laptop to go in desired location. Then start my Fuel Price Lock as Normal. Max 25c/L discount for fuel is not bad at all.

        Anyway, I wasn't having the A01/A02 errors until now, using an android rooted phone. I literally locked in yesterday without issue. Tried hotspotting to another phone to lock, changing deviceid etc, vpn to france or the relevant state, nothing has worked.

        Care to offer any useful help or just be a turnip, as usual?

          Looking for solutions too. The shared iOS solution doesn't work for me on Android.

          I've tried replicating it by trying something logically similar though (initiating the lock, stopping fake location before "confirming" the lock, then locking) but it hasn't worked for me

          Have also tried all the other stuff you mentioned

        I was thinking to know which one I can maximum the 25c discount, which the 7-11 website seems to list all the price of all the stores.

          I don't follow. How will it be different to using refinery/projectzerothree, that would maximise your 25c discount as well, wouldn't it?

            @tangcla: As in if you can lock in $1.5/L but if I head to a station that is selling it at $2.0/L then I'd be paying $1.75/L due to the cap.

            Versus if I can check a few stations on my route, I would know which ones are selling at $1.75/L or less so I can achieve my $1.5/L lock.

            Hope that makes sense :)

    having an issue with the chopper. in the android emulator chrome is giving me a black screen. restart didnt help . i tried to put the latest apk of chrome by pasting it onto the device , but now i get the error - you device couldnt open chrome. to fix the issue , download the latest chrome update from your app store ??
    tried to sideload brave browser but i have the same issue

    no idea how i solved this problem but sideloaded again but the x86 version and restarted a few times and working again

    I just used Surfshark VPN to lock the price in WA from VIC. Then, changed the location again using 3utools and it worked on iPhone.

    Just a question - I have an old iPhone 6 sitting with me. Is there any way to use that to lock fuel prices? It gives me an error message to update the 7/11 app but since the phone is old it doesn't let me update the app. Any one has a way out? Thanks

        Yea, good one! iOS can't be updated on iPhone 6 because the phone doesn't support the latest version. If only you had read the whole message!

          iPhone 6 because the phone doesn't support the latest version.

          My iPhone 7 doesn't support the latest ios either, but I can still do fuel locks.

            @jv: When I try to open the 7/11 app, it asks me to update the app but unfortunately it doesn't let me. When I try to download the latest version of the 7/11 app, it says "The current version requires iOS 14 or later"

    Hello good people. I was following instructions to install Android Studio, but when I pasted
    "rootAVD.bat %LOCALAPPDATA%\Android\Sdk\system-images\android-33\google_apis_playstore\x86_64\ramdisk.img"
    but I get
    ramdisk.img not found error.

    Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

    7-11 is losing it, the first to go up in the cycle.
    I saved 45c/L today by driving 3-4 km to ampol.
    95 is 244.9 @7-11 artarmon -> 199.9 @ampol lane cove

          Yea, that limitation makes the trouble really limited now. If you're near an expensive station, you're between for filling up during your commute or when you're going elsewhere.

          It's introduced a new layer of thinking into the entire equation.

    Does anyone still manage to do this? I tried both Android Studio and the IOS 17 with iAnyGo, both resulted in an A01 error every time. I tried to create a new user and also got the same result. Multiple times, I restart and cleared the cache too.

      It's odd, I was getting the A01 error suddenly too with a rooted android phone, now it has disappeared and I can lock again.

      Post from user jv on the 1st of February suggested to hotspot from a device to your iPhone. This has fixed the A01 error for me today.
