            • @lordra: The registry is tracking your usage of it for the free trial, once thats used up, deleting those reg keys resets the trial, so if 2 free uses, then every second use you need to delete that reg data.

Don't use this tool myself, but if I did, I'd create dummy entries in the reg and then deny access to the system, then no need to keep deleting the data.

    • Did you do an interstate lock?

      • +1

Yes I locked in WA from NSW using Nord Perth server

    • 3utools works for me but only within QLD. Using iOS 17.

  • +2

I'm in NSW - couldn't lock in a WA based price using iFakeLocation with an A01 error, but could lock in a NSW based price with no issues.

    • Same.

  • In NSW, was able to lock in Vic using VPN. Weird.

  • Wasn't able to lock in WA or Vic or QLD from QLD. When I turned off VPN it worked for QLD though. Should have tried for WA…

    • Yeah likewise, definitely doesn’t like Surfshark

  • +2

Wondering if they are now actively blocking known VPN IPs?

    • Not sure as we never needed a VPN before but would be good to know what the actual cause of the A01 is

  • +1

Today I was able to lock in successfully. I was going to start extensive troubleshooting but I had success on my second attempt.

Physical Location Faked Location VPN Result
    VIC WA No A01 Error
    VIC WA Nord Success

I also confirmed the VPN was working using iplocation.io which showed 4/4 IP services detecting my location as WA.

6 days ago I tried the same thing but couldn't get past the A01 Error even with NordVPN to WA. It may have been a different external IP though…

    • +1

It may have been a different external IP though…

Same experience here. I just disconnect and reconnect till I get a new group of IPs.

  • App no longer allows screenshots. Couldn't even use screen recording. Had to give the phone to the driver who was filling up.

    • +3

Add to google wallet, screenshot from there.

    • +4

Or use a barcode generator or StoCard app

      • does that work on iphone also?

    • +3

Take pic with a different phone and save the picture.

    • Are you using a rooted Android phone? There's an Lsposed module to bypass the screenshot restriction.

hey all - keen to have a few more Windows + iOS users test out my app: https://geoport.me/

    Why?:
    - iOS17 support on both Windows / Mac
    - State-based fuel prices
    - Familiar GUI
    - Free

    • Will give it a go to test.

      • thanks mate - feel free to DM any questions

    • I will have a look. Thanks for your time and effort.

      • Thanks!

    • your app comes up with a trojan virus detect on edge download & defender. will try again on mac

      • Yeah that’s because I’ve used pyinstaller to create the bundle. It’s not code signed either because I’m not a pro developer and I’m not going to buy a code signing cert!

There’s a fair bit of doco on pyinstaller bundles showing up as malware because a lot of malware is built this way 😂

I’ve put virustotal links up. The Mac bundle came up clean. The windows exe had 7 detection and I’m sure if I rebuilt the exe it may pass. In my win10 laptop it got flagged as malware by defender but on my win11 desktop it didn’t.

For whatever that explanation is worth!

The alternative is I just let people clone the raw python, install the requirements and run it that way. But that isn’t user friendly and I’m sure people will ask how to install python or how to install the requirements.txt etc etc

        • but while I'm here - I do need to sort this out so that it downloads without issue.
Pyinstaller has been such a pain in the arse for this project. The silly thing is the mac version has no detection yet the windows exe built from the exact same code does!

    • ARM Mac only!

      • You want intel version?
I'll spin up a VM in AWS and build it

        • no, just noting that intel is not supported. I understand that, they're now 4 years old or more. I'm using your manual terminal commands so all good, really.

    • +1

Just tried it now on my Mac - works perfectly!

      Thanks for all your efforts!

      • Thanks! Love the feedback :D

    • just tried it on Windows and works like a treat ! Well done mate.

      • Thanks mate!! Appreciate the feedback!

  • Using iphone and imyfone to any, still constantly getting A01 error. Please reply if you can figure it out how to lock fuel again. Thanks.

  • 7-Eleven having competed on price for the past several years seem to have moved away from that strategy. We'll see how that works for them in the coming months, I guess. Their volumes must be down, they cant be happy about that.

    • It’s volume vs margin game . You can make up more volume if cheap prices but less margins and when on high prices less volume. If they balance it they can make enough money .

So they don’t care about us it’s money ultimately.

I heard 7/11 was up for sale, so they want up their numbers could be financials.

  • My number of visit for rewards doesn't seem to be going up after fueling up.
Does anyone else have this issue?

    • I think it's a cache/load issue, try clearing data and logging back in

      • I did that… same problem. It's stuck at 2.

  • keep getting E01 error, used iAnyGo app in an android 11 phone. I also tried multiple email address. Anyone experiencing same issue? or how to solve it?

    • -3

      Anyone experiencing same issue?

      yes.

      or how to solve it?

      hotspot fixes it for me.

      • what app did you use?

        • -1

          I use ifakelocation.

I just locked in the price a few minutes ago… 179.7

Unfortunately, all the 7-Eleven near me are 231.9

Shell Express is 178.9, so won't be using the price lock…

          • @jv: Was that an intrastate lock?

            • @sween64: No, I always select the cheapest in my home state, Vic.

  • I can't even do a chopper trip in my home state anymore. Tried Toowoomba from West Brisbane and tried A01.

    iPad Pro with 3u tools.

wow - thanks to those who have helped to test out https://geoport.me

      Thank you!!

    • Windows user here.

      1. Can't find iTunes even though I have it installed. I press enter to run away.
      2. My phone is automatically populated in the Select Device: window however, cannot connect. Attempt 1: No devices found….Attempt 10…No devices found
      3. Unable to create device tunnel within 60 seconds. Please try to connect again
      • What version of windows?
I’ve seen this on my win10 laptop.

        1. This is a soft check, but curious where your iTunes install location is?

        2. If you have accepted the “run as administrator” prompt and it still fails, this is probably a driver issue… the terminal window will show the driver is installing but it probably isn’t. So here’s what I’ve done to resolve it on my win10 laptop:

        - open Device Manager
        - Network Adapters
        - find the “WeTest” adapters
        - right click and remove / delete (whatever is the option)
        - ensure the Wetest adapters are gone
        - re-run GeoPort ensuring you are allowing it to run as Administrator

        • I got the same error "no devices found"

Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2, iPhone on 17.3.1. Using Admin mode

wintun[29356] INFO WeTestUsbFilter driver not exists or expired.
          wintun[29356] INFO Installing WeTestUsbFilter driver
wintun[29356] INFO Install WeTestUsbFilter completely, exit: 3010
wintun[29356] INFO WeTestUsbNcm driver not exists or expired.
          wintun[29356] INFO Installing win11_WeTestUsbNcm driver
          wintun[29356] INFO Install win11_WeTestUsbNcm completely, exit: 0

uninstalled "WeTest" devices in device manager and 2nd time installed both driver ok (exit:0) but still getting "No devices found"

          • @starcub: I’d like to know more. Can you ping me a DM? @starcub

    • how to test it? if I download on window how can I use to lock fuel?

      • Connect your phone via usb. Make sure it appears in the device list. Hit connect and choose the location for fuel

I can’t solve the A01 issue. I use NordVPN myself with GeoPort to get the cheapest fuel. But the 25c cap is pretty lame from 7-11

I had thoughts of using GeoPort to set the proxy settings on the users iPhone and then route your traffic via a state based proxy IP to fix the A01 issue all within my app. But so far it doesn’t look like it’s possible to set the proxy on the iOS device :/

    • Also can't find iTunes - shown in a small popup window. The main screen is stuck on a picture of the world and 2x cmd prompts.

I've tried the solution as well. There is no "WeTest" adapters under Network Adaptors in Device Manager.

      • Are you using the latest windows v1.0.0? And accepting / receiving the run as administrator prompt?

What you’ve described sounds like the app is still unpacking / extracting itself

In one of the command windows does it display any output? Such as “base dir:” should be printed so you know where the temp files are unpacking to

        • Edit: I got past this stage, but I’m still getting ‘Unable to create device tunnel within 60s’

Edit again: Actually after a few tries, it worked. I was able to lock in in NSW (my state) but not the Australia-wide price.

          Thank you!

          • +1

            @zah: I missed this @zah
Great to hear you got it working!

The A01 is out of my control with 7-11 doing what seems to be ip location to geolocation matching

    • dave31

Great app. Thanks for creating it.

Question as I couldn't find in this tread. I am yet to update to the latest IOS. Does geoport support the latest IOS for iphone?

      Thanks,

  • Okay guys, what's the cheapest (or free) VPN that has multiple locations in Australia? Now that they cracked down on free international VPN can no longer get WA prices :(

    • +3

NordVPN with the cashbacks that come through is usually easiest.

      • NordVPN as well

    • +1

      Or Surf Shark

    • Careful. Some don't work.

  • +2

Just noticed BP 98 up road from work has jumped to $2.59.9 :o So glad I didnt fuel up this morning. :'(
Did someone fart at an arab?

    • +2

Did someone fart at an arab?

      😂

    • +1

Yeah wtf just happened? 98 price just jumped 50c/L at my local 7/11, why do we not have any regulators watching these prices?

  • +2

Another day later and https://geoport.me is now over 500 hits mind blown for my hobby app!
Thanks again to those who've been testing and providing feedback

I made a new release today (v1.0.1) and included dark mode. Can see more here: https://github.com/davesc63/GeoPort/releases/tag/v1.0.1

    • Hey dave31, Have a look at my fork:
      https://github.com/pouyaman/iFakeLocation

I have added some ease of use functionality in there, it is a very hacked/tacked on solution…. But you may find it helpful. I am pulling the data from https://projectzerothree.info/ and displaying the cheapest. In lieu of the recent events with state based IPs, I will have a look to add a state based solution sometime this weekend.

      Windows Binary:
      https://github.com/pouyaman/iFakeLocation/releases/download/…

      • I’ll look through it, but https://geoport.me replaces ifakelocation plus I have already added state based filtering :) (and iOS17 support, and dark mode…)

        • -1

I haven't used your application, but based on the screenshots on the website it is missing fuel price display and a drop down to choose type of fuel with selection of the suburb with cheapest fuel (Australia wide ATM), I'll have to add a second drop down to pick state to allow for more granular selection to avoid A01.

          • +2

@OpayuOnam: Maybe you should download GeoPort and try it out :)

State based fuel display and location setting is already part of it.

            As seen here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/davesc63/GeoPort/v1.0.1/im…

Older screenshot as I’ve now added a fuel mode switch and tidied it up

            • @dave31: Righto 👍🏼 good one.

Edit: I noticed someone complained about antivirus on your executable, I used dotnetcore to build exe and have shared with a few friends and they haven't complained about anti virus… so maybe go s that a try.

              • @OpayuOnam: Yep that’s all fixed. Compiled my own pyinstaller boot loader for the latest releases and check the exe via VirusTotal. Passes Microsoft Defender and SmartScreen 👌

      • Hi again, I run it with my ipad, and get this message:
Your devices iOS version is not supported at this time.
My iPad is running 17.3 (21D50)

        Is this correct?

    • Hi Dave31, great app- but do we still need a VPN to chopper to matching state? I can connect (windows>ipad) but it still gives me A01 error when trying to actually lock

      • +1

A01 is out of my control. 7-11 is matching your device IP to the state where you are attempting to lock in. That's my best guess.
Hence why when we use a VPN to WA, our device IP appears as if its in WA both by GPS location and device IP.

Some people have success with this flow:
        - open GeoPort
        - select cheapest location and simulate location
        - open 7-11 app and find the fuel type you're after - this should display the cheapest price BUT DONT LOCK IN
        - In GeoPort: stop location
        - Go back to your 7-11 app and now lock in the price

Personally, I haven't had success with the above. But I know others have.

Others are saying if they use mobile hotspot they are having success locking in any where. ie dont have your iOS device on your home wifi

        • Hey dave, it is asking me to put in a pin to unlock the console, what is the pin?

  • +2

Can confirm A01 error goes away if you use VPN, I am using NordVPN and was able to lock the price

    • Are you on iOS?
What tool did you use and what order of steps please?

      • No using Android Simulator, just downloaded NordVPN on computer and bought subscription at 98% cashback, set location to Perth and locked price.

        • Nice! Sorry, can I ask what is Android Sim?
I currently use IOS to lock, while my primary phone is Android and it's a PITA to have to swap phones, charge it, use a pc/laptop, 3uTOols, etc.

Are you able to just lock on the go like in watchdogs?

          • +2

@lordra: Its bit of a process setting everything up to start with, I am not using anything on my android phone instead using Android Simulator as per this guide https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678629?page=21#comment-132…

It looks like they're making it harder for this to work, if it gets any more complicated than this I may just fill up at Metro which is usually 20-25 cents cheaper than our local 7/11 anyway.

            • @RobotWizard: Ha ha, yep, was thinking the same.
I've had two purple tell me that they 'feel' that BP diesel gives them more mileage than other places. But didn't have the numbers to back it up.
So at the bottom of the next fuel cycle, I'm going to do fill up a tank of BP diesel and see what happens.

  • -4

Hi there, how to use Nord VPN in iphone IOS to lock fuel. What is the step. Please help. Thank you

    • +2
      • set Nord to location of lowest price
      • use location faker tool to set location on iPhone (3utools, iFL, Geo Port me etc)
      • lock price
      • if you get an A01 error turn VPN off and on and hope for an IP that isn’t blocked

If A01 error persists it could be another cause, there appears to be many reasons for an A01 error.

      Good luck

Also read the OP for further info

      • is the VPN set on mobile or in windows, I am using a "imyfone to any" to set location, thanks

        • +1

VPN on the iPhone as that’s where 7-Eleven is running.

  • Using GeoPort, I don't use a VPN to avoid the A01 error.

All I do is Stop Location spoofing BEFORE pressing the Lock button.

    • +1

Doesn't seem to work for interstate locks personally.

      • I locked a NSW price and I am in Victoria.

        • did you try locking to WA?

        • My thoughts exactly too, why lock the NSW one when WA is like 10c cheaper

          • +1

@PhillipC: Diesel was cheaper in NSW.

            • @rickb: Ahhh makes sense!

              • @PhillipC: I just locked in a U91 price from WA without using a VPN. My son uses my laptop and ifakelocation with no VPN to lock in WA prices.
