CBA Ultimate Awards Credit Card: 36,000 Qantas Points ($5,000 Spend in 90 Days), $35/Month Fee, $30/Year Fee for Qantas Points

102

Not the biggest bonus out there but may be worthwhile to those churning cards. For $30, it actually has better value/points ratio than the recent ANZ and NAB deals.

There are some caveats:

  • $35 monthly card fee, waived if you;
    (i) spend at least $2,500 on your Ultimate Awards credit card in your statement period and
(ii) choose to receive online statements

  • Not available to customers who currently hold, or have held, any Awards card types in the 12 months prior.

There's also the option to select 90k Bonus CommBank Awards Points instead of Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Post a link for any 360k Qantas point card unless you're full of $-hit.

  • $35 monthly ,$420 per annual

not worth the credit check.. too much effort tbh

That is a terrible deal. 36k for non-zero fee and that much spend?

You can get a total of 48k out of it but you have to keep your card for 13 months. If you can spend over $2500 a month comfortably for 13 months, might be okay. Can make up the $60 fee in total through Commbank cashback offers. Otherwise… nah.

If you are after using the points to get gift cards for Woolworths, works out to only be $145 in gift cards after paying $30 Qantas points fee. I put all the details in the forum post. So not great.

If you want to use it for flights, works out to about 15% of a business class Melb to London return or round the world in points (if you keep the card longer than 12 months), which is isn't awful for $60. However, the ANZ or AmericanExpress are 37% of the points required.

  • IMO this is a good option for those who want to avoid $300 to $500 annual fees and/or $14K to $15K minimum card limits which is usual for other bonus points cards. Minimum credit limit is $6K for this card. Getting a card for an additional card holder is also free so the $2.5K minimum monthly spend to avoid the fee shouldn’t be a problem for a couple/family.

    • A good tip for lack of supplementary card is to link it to Apple / Android pay and then give card to spouse ( or vice versa). Everything is tap these days no store touches the card to see the name.
Not sure how dodgy it is but I've done this for years.

Not worth a credit check. Better off getting $500 of gift cards from CBA with same monthly fee structure and no opt in fee.

    36K?

Don't get out of bed for less than 75K

    36000 points vs $5k spend???

  • This doesn't look like a deal. Really bad tbh.

  • Ultimate Awards Credit Card. 36,000 Qantas Points.

One of the above is not like the other…

  • Terrible deal. Certainly not worthy of a post.
