I found SL to have much various in speed. Often drop outs. Poor customer service they get frustrated and tell lies. When I started with them I opened a licktet to his to monitor my speed in a way that that they would respected. It took nearly 4 months for a reply that says virtually nothing. Changed back to ABB, have had a couple of a drops out that I was notified of days before it occurred. The phone support service has been great too. Stay on the phone with you while they test a few things.
A little off tangent to the post…but is there really that much noticeable difference between 40up and 20up? I'm on a grandfathered SL plan with 40up and not sure whether I should stick with them or move to ABB and their 20up.
SL have told me they have no idea whether their over provisioning thing is actually effective or not on my POI. I would have thought that would be something they're across already.
ABB seem to be more on the pulse with this sort of stuff which is what's enticing me to move to them.
I’m in exactly the same situation as you, except my current normal price is the same as the offers now. You'll Probably want 40up if you're working from home at the moment.
What do you want SL to tell you? Look at your CVC graph, do speed tests. Are you happy or not is what matters.
I used to be on Telstra Cable 115/5 and 5mbps upload was fine unless i had to upload sizable stuff to a cloud or access my NAS remotely then it was a noticeable limitation. This is one of those things that if you don't know whether or how 40 v 20 will impact you, then you really don't have the use case for it to matter and should not worry about it.
They want to know when SL are implementing over prov to get a speed increase.
Strange to be that interested in it to jump ship given rest of the post.. but this is OzBargain.
20Mbps upload is probably not much difference for you. Aussie BB do have 40Mbps upload if you want it.
Aussie BB has not over prov all connections and they said more to come late August.
SL also have 40 Mbps upload if you want it.
Are they over provisioning the 50mbps connections too? I heard its only the 100mbps connection.
My connection speed is higher (connected at 60Mbps, which used to be about 54 I think), but not my actual speed test results. No difference somehow.
I'm on 25/5 plan with abb and it's plenty fast enough for streaming Netflix and playing online games. My husband plays Dota and never complains about the speed. Worth noting I use Ethernet for a wired connection to the gaming PC. Wifi for everything else.
ABB have been great so far, but I think I might give these guys a go.
Does anyone know if SL have static IP address default? Or available as an add-on?
On my SL account its there as an optional $5 add-on.
Just signed up this morning and noticed they don't have Static IP for new customer anymore, damn!

Good luck if you ever have to deal with their customer service.
They’ve been fine when I’ve dealt with them. Aussie are #1 IMO but Superloop are definitely not bad. Based in Australia and are absolutely better than the Optus or Telstra nightmare!
Hands down better than Optus and Telstra.
Agreed Aussie are #1, wait times are a bit longer with Superloop but their support staff seem switched on when i have spoken with them.
I've never called, just chat on Discord decent community. Confirmed when i reported outage and when it was backup. Way easier than calling for me.
To be fair they have come a long way. When I first signed up, the phone queue was 1 hour long and then hung up on you when you got to the front. Now they have far shorter waits and the callback feature actually works.
I actually didn't have a great time either for 6 months with them. Had numerous drop outs and couldn't seem to get any help.
Ended up switching to Aussie and it's been the best. Their app is actually the best one I've come across.
Theyve done an amazing job with their app, says a lot about them really.
Why the downvotes, superloops service has gone downhill big time.
They don’t seem to offer Fixed Wireless NBN, so pretty useless. I’ll stick with Mate and not have to keep chasing discount codes too.
SuperLoop's service, from top down was absolutely disgraceful. Had to go to fair trading to get a fair outcome.
Would never recommend them
Can you give more generic details about the issue?
Expand please.
Just churned to them using this from ABB, took literally 5 minutes. Ran a speed test and getting 43/17.5 on 50/20 plan which im happy with.
Very hard to get through to anyone on the phone when you need help (once even had to wait over an hour). No follow up to emails sent to them either. Would not recommend
I've had no issues with them. Was able to call and received an email response within a day.
Same experience with me. No email reply. 1-2 hour waits on hold. Unhelpful staff.
Not worth the bother.
So many mixed reactions on here as well as whirlpool. Maybe best to just go with ABB and not risk it.
I switched to ABB. Huge improvement in customer service.
On NBN Fibre you never really need customer service.
I have only ever called ABB to disable CGNAT or CANCEL.
Only every called Superloop to CANCEL.
SL have been excellent for me, no issues whatsoever but my 6 months of discount is coming to an end next month.
I dont seem to be getting any referrals from the system and dont want to leave to only come back again.
Hope the random referral system kicks one in soon, but in the mean time I have only good things to say about SL.
ps: I am on HFC on the gold coast. I think users who are on FTTN will inherently have more issues or limitations so no matter what provider you get, the limitations follow accordingly.
My last bill with SL was on June 30th for the period July 14 - August 14,
So my next bill will be on July 31st..
I have already received discount 6 times..
When do you think is the best time to cancel ? bit confused
Was with Superloop for about 5 months before i switched to ABB. (switched due to internet keep disconnecting and dropping to half Download/upload speed, most sever days the internet would cut out a dozen times.) Their aftersales support is horrifically bad (at least in my experience), unhelpful email support that took close to a month to reply.
they fixed that issue, I havent had a disconnect in over 6 months
Superloop are great, as are ABB. But these dickaround discounts for NEW customers are annoying. As usual -> Nothing for the existing userbase..
Refer your friends and family for more discounts.
To be fair, they did give free unlimited quotas to everyone for 3 months
The description is so short! So, does this mean that I am able to sign up for 6 months any speed any option, use it for that 6 months for a total of $60 and then switch to someone else at the end of the period?
Sign up to any Superloop NBN plan and get $10 off your bill each month for 6 months.
Cancel anytime.
Oh, so it is not $10 per month. Just $10 off? Pass.
Twix literally said
Sign up to any Superloop NBN plan and get $10 off your bill each month for 6 months.
Just $10 off?
Lol good job not reading twice.
Pass.
Lmao good luck trying to find NBN for $10/month.
Do you live in only your own world or something?
We joined Superloop as part of a promo on Ozbargain. Boy did we regret it. Even trying to get through to them the first time took an hour plus. Then a few months later we had a period of several days where we experienced dropouts for most of the working day and could not reach customer service by phone or email (no reply!) In fact there was no response until we contacted the Telecommunications Ombudsman. Will be looking for another ISP
This code comes up as invalid for me? Anyone else?
Edit: OP needs to update as it doesn't apply to all plans as mentioned. Doesn't work with 25/5 or 50/20, only the higher tier plans.
Worked fine for me on 50/20.
The code didn't work for me on a 25/5 plan unfortunately.
leaving this comment to come back later.. ABB
Superloop Rocks again!
My connection has been nicely part of over provisioning :)
Getting 107Mbps down and 19Mbps up on my 100/20 HFC connection on the gold coast!
Am thinking of changing my HFC NBN from Kogan to SL. For the lack of a better description; Is it still a thing/ is it still possible to call and ask them if my POI is "congested" and have them tell me the potential impact of my upload and download speeds?
I remember ABB customer service being able to tell me the number of customers they service in my POI which could impact speeds (although they did mentioned something about monitoring CVC and ensure optimal speeds during peak … which all ISPs probably would have said the same thing during sign-up phase).
Life saver, thank you very much!
Expired. They pulled the deal early.
Just use a referral - you get the same $10 off a month for 6 months.
I just used the code so it is still working
Been on HFC superloop for 9 months now. Other than some network issues they had around xmas they were open about on discord, its been great. Great for gaming and streaming all forms. Recommended.
