  • For those that have no idea about the AMEX deal mentioned in the title
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/45194

  • is this sandbridge thingy ?

edit: looks like it.. it says 2nd generation i5

  • Its a + from me, considering the vid card and 2nd gen core I5 but only with the $50 off

  • can someone tell me if this is a good buy?
link to the vid card : http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6770M.43955.0.htm…
i just need hdmi, play street fighter 4, and some decoding video from mkv to mp4 (for ipad)

    • yes, it is good buy, I'm going to get 1 myself and claim rebate back from education scheme plus $50 off with AMEX
I hope AMEX take $50 off rather than give me $50 voucher

  • I was about to -ve for a 4.24KG laptop.. LOL.. It's actually packaged weight.. HP site says Product weight
    starting at 2.63 kg…

    • haha I was about to do the exact same thing.

  • So tempted ! Only let down is the resolution :(

    • HP has announced a few weeks ago that a 1080p screen will be (well now is) released for this model and hence can be upgraded.

(checkout the HP forum at notebookreview.com for further information)

  • +1

very nice graphic card it has there…almost top of the line.

  • So all things considered, especially the past deals on the the 1st gen i5's (w/ discrete graphics) like this one, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/43892

Is this offering from DS still a good deal? I'm sitting of fence but a little itchy to pick up that lappy.

    • The specs are great for the price. The problem is the warranty - every chance the laptop will start overheating after a year or two, and this is more likely the beefier the graphics. Not only is the warranty short but dealing with HP can be a soul-destroying experience.
