Needles are emotive and designed to be a headline grab but in reality food can be weaponized in so many different ways I perish the thought.
Even what takes place in some restaurant kitchens, yuk!
This kind of food terrorism just sucks big time and needs to be severely punished to preserve at least some level of food confidence.I wanted to buy some but woolies didn't stock any!
This needle business has ruined strawberries for everyone and lots of farmers making losses due to no one buy them
what if someone gets a brighter idea & start lacing strawberries not with needles but something smaller or can't see
that could cause similar harm if not more than a needle?Don't know if this has been mentioned already ,
but can't you just check them with a magnet ?
(Rare earth one maybe)I don't like strawberries but is there something else I could maybe trade these for somewhere.. I am basically asking if anyone has ever successfully traded food for services or money .. not expired or bad ruined food obviously
If desparate then buy from costco - Made in the USA
firebugs and needle pricks.. public enemy no. 1 and 2
Too many pricks around the strawberries lately.
i only clicked this for the comments
Could just make Strawberry smoothies and then run it through a fine colander just incase
Lol it really is dumb, even if refridgerated the needle ones would be rotted by now unless they are stupid enough to still be doing it lol
Buy these. Make strawberry jam.
Just put the strawberry in an egg slicer and push hard and bam easy.
Anyone know if the Baulkham Hills Harris Farm have these trays on offer? TQ!
Sharp price!
Are all Harris Farms doing this price??
Went this afternoon to HF Manly and now 3 punnets for $4. Asked a staff member and was told now longer available as this price so probably should be marked as expired (although other HFs might still offer a similar figure).
If you are worried about something that is not supposed to be in the strawberries, just cut them open and check before you eat. Simple!
the overreaction to this was just astounding. a whole industry brought to its knees cause a few needles were put in some strawberries.
There's been two separate incidents so far this week of people being caught tampering with fruit though, a young boy and a 62yo woman. it brings the crazies out which is the bigger problem.
More than 25 occurrences reported. People were getting hospitalised from ingesting the needles.
You must hate the SmashAStrawb hashtag that some Perth company is trying to get started
