  • What is shipping like to the NT during the sale?
Since JBHifi are selling the same headset for $84 I think it might be the better option for people who don't have MSY locally.

    • Think it's $10 to metro cities. As above, PCCG/Mwave/Scorptec are selling them for $69 which is still cheaper than JB. Better to go with them if MSY is out of stock.

      • Thanks for the reply, I checked on their website and also PCCG and Mwave and the shipping is usually $25 to Darwin. Turns out to be cheaper by a dollar to buy from JB. Thanks though.

  • "Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS Elite Mech. Keyboard" - do you stock it in Cherry MX Brown?

    • +1

      Yes it says Cherry Red/Blue/Brown.

    • Note: They revised the KB to non-elite version as there was a mixup.

  • Meh 120/250 gb ssd deals, . Where da 500gb/1tb/2tb deals at? Any local deals? I've already sent fistfuls of cash to Newegg and Amazon this week

  • HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard for $70 is amazing value (I bought it for $118 during an eBay sale). I am very happy with mine after 1 year daily use.

    • +1

Am still sporting my Logitech G19, 7+ years now, haven't skipped a beat. :)

      • G19 is the most solid non-mech keyboard I've ever seen/used.

  • FYI Canberra store only has red/black headset in stock for tomorrow and its not part of the sale.

I'll grab from PCCG tomorrow instead.

  • +1

Meh… I was really looking forward to this as I want to upgrade my GTX970 to a 1080 or 1080Ti. Unfortunately with these 'sale prices' I might as well buy them from ebay with their always current 20% off. You can buy a 1080 for only $20 more than the sale price of the 1070Ti at MSY.

  • Razer Blackwidow Chroma Ver2 Mech Keyboard, they don't sell the "Stealth" version do they? also a new version on its way if memory serves me correctly?

  • +1

I have these headphones and got them for $120 with an eBay sale. Amazing value at $59 and cannot recommend them enough.

  • I own the Hyper X II Cloud headset. BE WARNED - there are issues with the mic as it is a USB driver. I am always told that I am very quiet over Teamspeak /Discord even if I am maxed at 200%. Lol up reviews and this issue before buying.

They are brilliant headsets for comfort and quality of sound though!

    • +4
    • Well I use this headset daily and people say I'm just perfect, There are some forum threads and videos explaining how to fix the problem you may be having. Also click the mic volume button on your inline cable control a bunch of times to be sure it's not that.

  • Bought the HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Keyboard a few months ago when it was $89 - good deal then and better deal now! Great keyboard.

  • To be fair, I recently bought twice from MSY, and I received the items as expected.

However, few years back, I bought a monitor for my wife, and it was a grey-import of an Indian version, with cheap plastic. My wife being an IP lawyer, we knew how to dodgy it was. The monitor is still working.

  • What is that on the main page of MSY
"NOTICE ORDERED BY THE FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA

False, misleading and deceptive conduct by MSY Technology, MSY Group and MSY NSW

Following legal action by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the Federal Court of Australia declared that MSY Technology Pty Ltd (MSY Technology), MSY Group Pty Ltd (MSY Group) and M.S.Y. Technology (NSW) Pty Ltd (MSY NSW) (together MSY) engaged in conduct that contravened the Australian Consumer Law (ACL)."

Is it safe to buy from them?

    • +2

I'd say more so then before they were told to put that notice up, lol

    • +1

This is because in the past they have done everything they can do to not honour Australian Consumer Law when it comes to returns and warranty, they have been fined twice. It has always been a gamble, they generally have the lowest price but if you get something that is DOA they would refuse to replace it and tell you to call the manufacturer and not help at all.

  • I only just bought a HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset last weekend @ $104 and opened it a couple of days ago

  • Damn it. Just bought a gaming chair from MSY yesterday

    • -3

I think OP is a typo, it's showing as 349 on the MSY site.

  • +1

I got razer kraken pro v2 but so tempted for this cloud 2. Should I? using it for PC and xbox one S.

    • you will definitly notice the difference in quality.

  • -3

The DXRacer chair is showing as 349 not 249.

    • Deal starts tomorrow as stated above…

      • God damn it I specifically checked the MSY site on the day I wrote that and swear the prices matched the deal prices for the other items I was looking at. This was not me being some lazy ignoramus, believe you me.

  • Quick Question: @currentfad @beetran , I have only just purchased a pair of the HyperX Cloud II's three days ago, they're still in the package as it is a christmas present, would it be possible to get the discount on it??

  • I would prefer the Cloud I's over the Cloud II's. As cloud II's are known for their microphone problems.

    • Suits me fine. I dont wanna talk to anyone.

Just tried a price match at jb. They wouldnt do it until the sale starts.

  • When I checked earlier this evening, there was plenty of Cloud II stock around, now most locations are out of stock except for Vic…. what gives?

    • Would not shock me in the slightest if they hold back stock and sell 1-2 per store.

  • +1

Lol OMG… no stock left in QLD or WA. Will have to call up to check tomorrow morning.

Anyone from MSY if you are reading could you please do the offer for RED color as well? thanks.

    • Haha…all those crazy consumers going out and snapping them up hours before a price reduction /s

I checked a while ago and QLD had a few stores with stock and online had stock now….magically OOS!!

      • nah its still listed at $119 and the QLD stores close around 5pm, sometimes earlier if the blokes go for lunch and forget to go back….

i think the system admin folks at MSY might have just pulled a fast one on us. Anyways I'll call Morningside and Slacks Creek first thing in the morning to check and try to get the guy there to put aside one for me. No way I am driving a half hour there to wait in line and be told its sold out.

Delivery is an option but not too sure. Anyone ever ordered anything online and get it filled and delivered on time?

        • You must have missed the sarcasm. A few hours ago I checked and there was stock and now there isn’t but the price is still $119.

I’d almost give them the benefit of the doubt had other stores in SA and VIC not been showing stock.

        • @Jonesy7707:
wow just saw this on their main homepage regarding misleading consumers.. ouch..:
NOTICE ORDERED BY THE FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA

any idea why they decided to leave SA and VIC still showing stock??

        • @KangaBanga: No idea but it seems odd or is this just an MSY tactic?

        • @Jonesy7707: Definitely something going on there. Anyways just waiting for Amazon to start trading. These Headphones are selling for AUD$80 on Amazon in US.

        • @KangaBanga: trust me… Amazon isn't magic haha, they still have to obey the laws of tax, and inflated shipping costs in Australia. We are travelling close to the bottom already for so many products

        • @plague69: not that i dont trust you, but I just bought 3 Led Lenser torches(P7 model 450lumens latest Oct 2017 release ) for £29 locally delivered, from Amazon UK, stocked and supplied by them, which is about AUD$51 each( these are selling AUD$124 on the company's AU website and around $100 from ebay resellers. ) This and a bunch of other stuff which my sis will be bringing over when visiting for christmas.

UK tax/VAT of 20% is even more than ours so if their local Amazon can do things for bargain prices, no reason why Amazon wont be able to do big discounts/flash deals/deal of the day/etc.. when they set up shop here.

Lets not forget they save a lot on warehousing and manpower costs using their robots and technology and being so big will have the best prices just on the sheer volume of each product going through their system. Auspost is also starting to get on the online delivery bandwagon and as online retail volume starts to take off, delivery charges will start to plummet.

So Amazon might not be magic but at least unlike the lower end stuff flogged by Aldi that u need to queue for, Amazon AU will be able to sell high end stuff at best prices, with enough inventory for all so no one misses out. This can only benefit consumers in the future.

Finally Aussie consumers can see the light, we have been oppressed for far too long. ;D

        • @KangaBanga: It's just how I see it unfolding… When you buy from Amazon UK I'm pretty sure VAT is removed at checkout which is a huge discount. GST will not be removed.

Small items in envelopes are still cheaper to ship from HK to SYD then Mel to SYD.

Machines yes, but truck drivers and delivery people will still need to be paid. No way around it until I see a fleet of self driving trucks and drones for the last mile.

Bottom line, even with Amazon AU, buying from the UK still might be cheaper, even when factoring in shipping

        • @plague69: Nope VAT was not removed, it was INCLUDED. I used my sisters Amazon UK account and also paid with her UK credit card so everything was kept local. So the bargain prices I got were all what a UK resident would get including the 20%VAT.

Those HK sellers will at some point have to move onto the amazon platform, just like they have moved into the Ebay platform.

And does Amazon UK not have to pay for truck drivers and delivery people included in their free shipping? They are still successful and making money whilst having great prices on products.

Besides Amazon has a locker system where they can minimize delivery costs by dropping off stuff at specific lockers accessible by the customer at all times of the day at a convenient centralised location. (no more posties just dropping the "please come to the post office and collect your parcel" card.. Coles has already started utilising this locker system. It is a very very useful system for the busy working in the day crowd.

Bottomline is Amazon AU will very likely end up as successful as Amazon UK. In the retail world, its the one who has the highest volume coupled with the most slimlined supply chain, who will be able to provide the lowest price, survive and kill off the competition. Oh and not to mention Amazon Au will probably have the best customer service experience.

Anyways this is going off topic, we'll see in a few months time how the launch and response goes and how the bottomline at big retailers like Myers/TGG/JBHifi/etc gets affected.

        • @KangaBanga: well, no idea why you would want to pay the 20% extra when you don't have to…

Don't get me wrong, I would love cheaper things from overseas, but all that's going to do is anger the local suppliers and for the government to put anti dumping surcharges a lot more things.

Free shipping isn't really free though… Someone has to pay for it down the supply chain.

  • Daaam, They have laptops for sale as well anyone know if they're any good? http://www.msy.com.au/nsw/mountpritchard/452-deal-of-the-day

  • Wish I could get the Harmony 650 for that price. No MSY store nearby, so postage ruins the deal for me.

    • You could attempt to pricematch at Officeworks/JB Hi-Fi. Nothing to lose.

      • I will give that a shot, thanks.

    • For anyone interested. I rang up Officeworks at 1300633423 and made the order through them with the price match. No other company would price match, even JB said they could only do $47 because delivery cost.

  • +3

Been trying since midnight to order things but all showing as full price. Anyone successful order anything with the discount or am I just too early? What time does MSY usually change the price on their websites?

  • is the hyperx cloud showing in stock online for anyone?

    • +1

It's showing up in stock for my local but prices aren't updated yet.

  • Would JB HI-FI price match the Cloud II's even though they aren't the same colour as what they have available?

    • -1

The $15 shipping kills it for me when I could walk into JB and buy them for an extra $4.

      • +1

Not sure why all the JB love recently… But my experience with their salesman have been pretty disappointing.

I think for people wanting to match JB, better call and see if they would match before wasting time and fuel…

        • What love? I’m saying I’d rather walk into JB (which I did) and pay $4 more than waiting for the same item to be delivered.

        • @Jonesy7707: agreed.

I'm just saying avoid disappointment, call prior

  • Not ready online yet…

    • +2

      Usually around noon.

  • Someone bump me when the prices on the database update.

  • The "Add to cart" button isn't working for the DX racer chair.

    Anyone else getting that?

    Works for other stuff though.

  • the Headset is adding to my cart @ $115, is there something im missing?

  • Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS (HX-KB1BR1-NA/A3) coming up as $129

  • +1

Where can we go to price match the HyperX Headset?

  • Looks like prices still haven’t been updated online. What kind of business does this?

    • One that opens at 10:30am.

    • Lets hope prices get updated once they open their shops.

  • Prices are live!!!

Nothing for pick-up in Brisbane and $15 postage makes it only $9 more to walk into JB and pick a pair up today, spend an extra $17 and get a $20 voucher.

  • out of stock ultimo , 2 min after price change

  • Prices updated now.

  • $20 postage fee on headphones kind of kills it.

  • +2

And the HyperX Cloud II's are out of stock.

    What a joke!!!

    • +1

Where they ever even in stock for that price is the real question. Stinks like an Aldi sale.

      • I was trying for Clayton, went out of stock, checked the availability toggle, got them from another store.

      • +2

If you look up the page a bit I noticed most QLD stores and online showed stock yesterday arvo and a short time later they'd magically sold out. At least they're consistent with the NOTICE ORDERED BY THE FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA!

  • Haha I went and got MVwave, yes $75 delivered but shit I tried on MSY too and they went quick!

    • +1

Probably only had 3 in stock.

    • I had them in my cart. Get to the end and "out of stock" good job msy

      • Exactly what happened to me too.

  • +1

Well that was a waste of time trying to get the headphones. Ended up going back and just ordering them off JB after I cancelled my order yesterday after this deal was pointed out.

    What a joke MSY.

  • I've been refreshing the page up until the prices updated and the Kingston HyperX Pulsefire Gaming Mouse was always out of stock. wtf

  • +3

Out of stock headset immediately after prices live. Textbook msy tactics

    • +1

      Straight outta EB game's playbook.

  • no stock, headset was sold in matter of minutes (by the time I get my credit card out of my wallet).

  • Cloud II out of stock

  • +1

    headset is back in stock

  • My order for picking up the headphones just got finalised… as Out of stock. Thanks MSY.

  • If you were eyeing the Kingston HyperX Pulsefire Gaming Mouse like me you can get if from mwave for $54 including delivery or $39 pickup.

  • +2

Out of stock @ Mitcham, came 1030 sharp only saw one person coming out from the store without anything. So…… Figure out yourself

    • +2

that's what we call baiting, probably only in stock at branches that they are trying to boost sales at.

      • +4

They suck. The reason I drove all the way there because they never answer the phone and never respond to my pickup order.

Funny thing is I checked Mitcham's website before I came they have it in stock.

        • The way to shop from MSY with minimal hassle is to never go into the stores without ordering online and using the "pickup from store" option.

Then you'll get an email saying the order is ready and you go in and pay when you pick up goods..

        • @Diji1:

That's the problem. They never respond to my online order for pickup. Only the Mitcham store though, North Melbourne is good.

  • Still can't "Add to cart" DX racer chair!

The button is just for show. Paper button!
