    Can vaya be trusted?

    • Yes, I bought my iphone 6 and iphone 7 on vaya last two years.
They hip it from HK and always have a quite good price.

      • Hi, do you get a tax invoice from vaya?
Can I get an extra 10% tax refund for the iPhone when I leave Australia?

        • They're grey import so no

        • okay, thx.

      • @fanfan6ji581

When you received the phone from Vaya, was it still in sealed condition or opened already?
So far do you have any problem with the phone?

        Thanks!

    • +2

No, they've attempted to defraud me twice.

    • +1

I just ordered a LG G6 through them a few weeks back. It arrived super quickly with a separate AU charger, and an unopened box.
They get my tick of approval.

Had this in my watch list and it was jacked up $200 today

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-New-Inspiron-Gaming-Desktop-…

    • +1

B.gger, they didn't do that with the last 20% off sale.

    • +10

That's because Dell was offering a $200.00 discount themselves which has simply ended (all good things eventually come to an end). Should have bought it under the previous 20% and you would have got it for $1,199.20. So I don't see them practicing price jacking here.

      • -6

That's because Dell was offering a $200.00 discount themselves which has simply ended (all good things eventually come to an end)

Sorry, what is the difference between that and price jacking?

        • +4

For me, it depends on whether the computer has recently been at that price. If it's just going back to it's normal price, that's not price-jacking, that's the end of a sale. If it's going to a price it hasn't been at recently, it's price jacking.

        • +3

@Diji1 If they were in the habit of price jacking, they would have removed their $200 discount when the previous 20% offer was on. The $200 discount was active all the way through and you can see 24 people people pulled the trigger and bought one during that time at the price I noted above.

    • :( I was waiting for this one.

    • Is this machine good to go for VR? I'm not too clued on with the AMD/RX combos and have been looking more at the Intel i5-i7/GTX 10XX pairing. This price point seems OK with 20% off but looking for something that can handle new game titles as well as have decent VR performance.

      • The Rx 570 and 580 will do VR well. This is a decent system.

Got 1 last deal, added 8gb ram and 2nd ssd for programs, runs pubg at 50-70fps on 2540 :)

        • +1

@AJW: Have you got a link to the extra 8gb ram you purchased. Just waiting for mine to be delivered and this is the first thing I will be doing. Thanks :)

        • @AJW:

Same - I am also waiting for mine to be delivered and would like to know which RAM you purchased and also which SSD you purchased.

According the the Inspiron 5675 Specifications, the SSD capacity is limited to 256 GB, but that sounds too low. It would be good to know if you put in more than 256 GB and whether your SSD is PCIe/NVMe.

          TIA

        • @AJW: Just chiming in that I got the Dell from the last deal too and would like to know which 8gb RAM to purchase please!

        • +2

@Vavoom: Hi Guys, I believe the generic ram in it is running at 2133, though I picked up a 2400 speed stick which runs fine - though they will run at lower 2133 speed, they didn't have stock of 2133 at the time and was assured it would be fine (which it has been):
          https://www.ple.com.au/Products/629422/GeIL-8GB-Single-DDR4-…

        • +2

@Dinjay: Sorry SSD was 500G Samsung 850EVO, no problems, never knew it said that in the fine print about limited to 256gb. Definitely shows as 500gb drive :) this was the exact drive: http://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/850-evo-sata-3-2-5-… - 500gb model

        • @AJW:

          Thanks.

That limitation may only apply for the M.2 slots. If you used the SATA slot (you linked to the 850EVO is SATA model), the limitation may be higher (2TB).

Btw, I created a new forum topic to discuss this system.

I’ve had the worst warranty issues service Fromm Grays Online. I will never purchase from them again.

    • +5

      Yep. same.

      Incredibly bad warranty experience twice.
      Never again.

    • +6

      Same, stay away.

    • Same here. Will never purchase from them again. Hope others don’t experience the same but, be warned, they will happily f you over if given the chance.

  • Does Ryda put the full price on the receipt or the sale price?

    • Full price.

    • Usually ebay sellers put full price on receipt.

  • Any reasonably good monitors in this sale one would recommend ?

    • I'm looking as well! Would welcome any recommendations

    • +2

Nothing especially good from a quick look. Give this sale a miss.

There are ultrasharps starting from $320 to $340

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dell-Ultrasharp-24-U2417H-Inf…

      U2415 Review
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Ultrasharp-24-Monitor-U2415-…

      27" 1440p monitor for $551.2 (review)
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dell-Ultrasharp-27-Monitor-U2…

Though to be honest, for $379 dollars I would rather grab a 32 inch AOC Q3279VWF (1440p) resolution and for those on tight budgets the 24 inch LG 24MP68VQ-P
has Freesync and IPS functionality at a much lower price point.

    • Price range?

      • can stretch up to $500, but need one only for browsing, Office, and Youtube.

        • +1

If you aren't doing any colour-sensitive work (photography, graphic design, video editing) & you don't need a gaming monitor with a high refresh rate then I would just get a size you are comfortable with. I personally don't like anything below 27inches but if you are fine with 24inches then go that way.

There aren't any really bad monitors for the simple stuff you need. $500 would probably be overkill.

  • +8

Someone alert the ACCC oh wait it's eBay don't bother they're too busy dealing with small businesses that actually do cheaper prices to bother with a large US corporation ripping off Australians.

  • How about the Dell XPS 8920 Tower Desktop (1060) for $1600? Or the 1070 version for $1839?

I know these have been cheaper before, but I'm having a hard time finding a better PC in the $1600 range.

    • +1

They are a great buy at that RRP is $2,499! my son has the I7,1070. it's fast and surprisingly quiet even when pushed, it has 2 spare HDD/SDD bays that are easily accessed.

Be wary of Vaya Ebay, I bought a phone that was advertised new and it had someones login details on it. I called Vaya and they said they had nothing to do with the Ebay store even though it's the same company - they are a bunch of crooks.

  • +1

There is a Nokia 8 from Vaya for $591.20 after 20% off

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nokia-8-64GB-Silver-Tempered-Blu…

It's a pretty good deal if you're after a flagship Nokia phone. It's from Vaya though, but I guess some people won't mind.

Cheaper to buy Dell Products through Dell.com with Unidays Discount (15% off) + Cashrewards (7% back) + Powerbuy (5% back)

    • how does it work?

      • It's pretty straight forward. First access Dell.com through Cashrewards. Second select the product and go to checkout where you will be prompted with a Voucher box. On another tab, go to Unidays and get your unique code off their website (or ask someone else to give one for you). Enter that code into the Voucher Box. Third, complete the transaction. Fourth, check Powerbuy website if you are eligible for a cashback and talk to Sales Chat to apply discount. Last Powerbuy Cashback was for ABN holders.

        • thanks, it's interesting to know.

        • You need to be a college or university student to have a Unidays account, is this correct?

        • Would it not make more sense to check with powerbuy if your eligible first before making the purchase?

And instead of using the Unidays 15% Dell already offers a 15% discount on their website code: PAX15

        • edit

    • How can one get Unidays AND Cashrewards together?

  • +1

I might get a new laptop when the intel 9th gen comes out.
The fact that 8th get still doesn't support HDMI2 is very disappointing

    • same here waiting for 10nm processor,it should have atleast 20 hour battery life on a decent laptop

      • +1

Can't tell if sarcastic or serious.. Waiting over a year for the next generation.

        • Serious, as i currently have a 6 months old 7th gen 2 in 1 laptop :)

  • https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-MacBook-Pro-13-3-MPXT2-201… curious, is it good to buy from? missed the myer last time, or just wait?

    • I wouldn’t bother with vaya… ships from Hong Kong. Most of their devices they sell have problems, and if it’s with the new shiny Mac you bought, they’ll tell you it’s not their fault and refuse to give a refund.

The Bose soundbar and sub look ok:

comes to about $760 each, cheapest i've seen.

Has anyone purchased from ryda-online before? I'm keen on getting a dslr and maybe lens from them, if they have the one I'm looking for. Just a bit worried about warranty and returns - the usual online shopping concerns. Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

    • +2

I've bought car sound equipment from Ryda 3 times and have never had a problem, but I've never dealt with warranty with them so can't comment on that aspect.

      • +1

Just placed an order after reading your comment + other reviews online - it made me feel more secure about this purchase, cheers x

      • Same here

    • +1

They're good…Australian stock…bought a couple of things off them in past sales.

    • Ryda are fantastic, bought a refurbished D750 from them a few sales ago and found an issue with the refurb’d battery, took it to their store in Sydney and they gave me a brand new battery with no hassle.
      Definitely recommend.

    • Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience with them. However, we were able to work out a solution.

Bought a Swann bundle, but they sent the cheaper bundle with inferior cameras. Ended up that they didn't sell the bundle we bought at all. For a while after, they still were advertising the bundle on their website and eBay store.

However, they were helpful in resolving and managed to get it sorted as quickly as being in different states could allow. I won't buy from them again, but it seems most experiences are pretty good.

    • +1

Update: I placed my order 30/10 in the morning and received it 31/10 in the morning even though the estimated delivery was supposed to be 1/11-3/11. BLESS. The camera I bought was perfect as well. Gonna write up a mad positive review for ryda online on their ebay store!

      • I got an Olympus TG-4 from Ryda earlier in the year, same sort of experience, good price, good product, super fast shipping… and they don't seem to jack the prices up…

  • +1

Any discounted Fast Wireless chargers? Getting 2 new iPhone Xs and would be great to finally go chord-free in the bedroom.

    • +1

Scrap the cords. Keep the chains and leash.

    • +2

Your music is going to sound pretty shit after it's chord-free

      • Sounds like most music these days to me….

  • So, no bargains at all?

  • +2

Some of the Ryda Sony mirror-less cameras are really well priced - could not find cheaper in AUS. Pitty I have been told by the boss I can not spend any more money.. :(

    • -1

A lot of the cameras are manufacturer refurbished, that's why they are so cheap.

  • +1

Samsung Note 8 prices aren't too bad. Better to get foreign 256GB N9500 or Australian 64GB N950FD?

  • is the iphone 8 at vaya mobile is local stoc?

    • +2

      No, from Hong Kong

  • In need of a new Macbook, Vaya have one at $2129 (so $1700 with discount). That any good?

    • +3

I think Vaya’s MacBooks are shipped from Hong Kong, so you’ll only get a one year worldwide Apple warranty. I would wait for a Myer MacBook deal, then price match with officeworks for the additional 5% off. > and the 2 year Australian warranty

      • Cheers, good advice

  • +2

Prices are bumped up way above RRP.
For example, this iPad Keyboard is on sale at Apple Store for $245. Vaya is selling it at $319. That's $10.2 higher than RRP even after the code.

  • If only there were deals for the actual Google pixels..
