I just managed to purchase. It might depend on your location

I think the Focals from yesterday's deal are still in stock

  • No reviews anywhere? Is it worth $5

Cant complain for a bluetooth speaker cheaper than a BigMac…

    • Probably okay for the price, local return/warranty, would beat any speaker from Ali/Temu of the same price I’d say

    • If it does and the sound is worth $5, or even 6, is it enough to be happy with?

  • -8

Landfill? It’s expensive to dump this in the bin so cheaper to put it on clearance and let you do the dirty deed ;)

    • +15

Wow, big brain there! Who would have thought they would make more money selling something instead of throwing it out 🤯

      • Who would have thought they would make more money selling something instead of throwing it out

Not necessarily a given. There is a measurable opportunity cost associated with putting something on a shelf. And it also has a logistics cost when bought online. If there is a higher margin item that could be sold in its place, it might be cheapest to just chuck them in the bin.

    • Yep. Exactly what everyone was doing after covid restrictions ended. Was basically just come and take whatever you need from tests, sanitiser, masks etc.

It was too expensive to dispose of

    • +1

Exactly, I am not surprised considering the number of anko products that have been recalled. https://www.kmart.com.au/product-recall/?srsltid=AfmBOopelCZ…
What is bizzare, Target has now become Anko shop number 2.

I'm using that idea. It's almost as good as buying vegetables from a supermarket, throwing dirt on them and then selling them as organic at the markets.

Ordered for delivery but past experience with these clearance items is that tomorrow they'll cancel the order.

    • +2

You are lucky if it's tomorrow…I usually get the email after 3 days ..

  • 2x3W. Not a party speaker but good enough to give some sound for a laptop.

  • Got one, lets see if the cancel it.

    • Always best to hot foot it to your nearest store if you want it.

My experience with clearance stock showing as in stock at a store…
There was no stock, but can't remove from system. So still shows in stock weeks later.

"This popular item has sold out online"
Unable to c&c or order for delivery at my location in Qld.

Tried ringing store… No staff answered at 2 stores showing these in stock.
But saw none of these in those stores days ago.

Tried 3rd store - put 2 on hold

A real bucket! This actually sounds awesome. Thank god I don't live in a big house.

  • Thanks OP. Brought one together with a $7.50 steam iron

    • That's a nice cheap way to burn your house down! :p

  • Goes okay it is what it is, but one annoying thing I find is that it very frequently just remains in bluetooth pairing mode and won't automatically switch to AUX output

    • Is there audio lag when watching video?

Bought a spare as found kmart clearance products have high failure rate.

Some may be faulty stock returned & put back for sale.
Returned a faulty Bluetooth LED Panel yesterday - failed after few hours, resetting to demo mode.
Staff seemed to put it with non-faulty returns. Had stressed it was faulty & unsaleable.

Speaker failed. After plugging in to charge, it goes though cycle of showing blue light & drum roll as if to pair.
Then annoyingly repeats that until battery runs out. Can't be turned off or paired. Tried all combinations of button presses to attempt a reset.

Hoped it may reset after battery became flat & put on charge. But as soon as plugged in to charge - starts doing the same thing.

Now in box. Still can hear drum roll from 5m away. Returning as faulty.
Rang local store last night - luckily have stock.
Only 1 available in Qld online!
