LG OLED C4 TV (2024) 65" $2520 + Delivery ($0 to Select Cities) @ Appliance Central

1170

Just bought this bad boy.

I noticed it is cheaper than the last time it was posted on here Ozzy B so I thought I would share.

Free delivery from appliance central for me but there's probably some price match shenanigans for those who are interested.

Other sizes also seemed well priced.

is this an upgrade from C1 worth getting?

    • +2

I don't think so but it's hard to have a direct side by side comparison.

        • its better for gaming I might upgrade and the weight is much lighter.

          • @Rukiata: Carrying around a 65" C4 for gaming may be challenging. I would recommend getting an Asus ROG Strix XG16AHPE, or similar, if weight is a factor in your purchasing decision.

            • @Blasters: oh its wall-mounted, I already selling my old C1 for 1000 on FB so in end, this will only cost me 1520 extra, just getting it on the wall again is a pain..so big and heavy these TVs lol

        • thanks for sharing, after a glance I belive C4 is a fine tunned (pre-calibrated) version of C1 with upgraded peak brightness…. not worth the upgrade from my opinion but obviously a better TV

  • +3

42 inch is also on sale for $1,260

    • +1

Damn they are getting cheap. Must…resist…

  • +3

LG 65" OLED B4 is also $2168 at Bing Lee

    • +1

Ooh thanks for this, snagged one.

      • $1999 today. ask for a price difference refund

        • WHAT!
Edit: Also see that they have sold out of them as well. If I had waited this long, I would have missed out on one and we are very happy with it.

    • +1

      b4 vs c4?

      • C4 is brighter

  • This price is about the sweet spot for a 65" LG OLED.

    • -1

Agreed but if you can hold off for another month it will be down to $2200.

      • +1

Where is it gonna be $2200?

      • +1

So, is it likely the C4 and G4 will go on deeper discount in the next month or two then? I have been keeping an eye on prices just not sure when to pull the trigger.

        • +2

yeah it's hard to find the bottom, then you risk them having no stock. But yeah they should be on clearance in the next month when the new models arrive

        • +2

I've bought OLEDs twice on runout - last time was a 65 G2 for about 2700 I believe. Before that was the C2 for about 2300. It's hard to be sure for each generation what the floor is, but you're unlikely to face absolutely zero stock anywhere when they are finally slashed.

I guess it all depends on how much you want the TV vs saving a coupla hunj.

        • Talking to various stores this week, they all advise that last stocks of C4 & G4 models are on order now (not much stock in store due to sale prices). C5 & G5 are due late March early April.

I ordered a G4 and was told ETA end of March, only to find a few days later, a small amount of stock turned up in Good Guys & Retravision stores virtually on the same day, so I'm thinking the floor staff don't really have their fingers on the pulse when they tell you they are almost gone.

      • Why is it going to be $2200? Any reasons as I am looking for one.

        • They will be on clearance when the C5 & G5's arrive possibly sometime in late March early April going by last years clearance deals.

  • +1

Isn't this technically cheaper with $200 VP GC (use case maybe limited)?

      Road Freight (Road Freight)
      $91.00

      lol rip off with delivery.

      • damn! Tks.

      • Depends on size and where you are I guess. The 65" was $66 for me and 77" was $90 delivery.

    • Looks like videopro have $50 off first order (min $500) too (not sure if you can use it with the gift card deal). If so:

      $2588-200-50+91 shipping = $2429

assuming the gift card is useful to you

    • +1

I'd go with this instead - https://www.videopro.com.au/product/lg-65-oled65c4psa-oled-e… - bundled with a soundbar for $2,768. Only issue is it says it's on backorder.

  • Is the website legitimate? They seem to have some strange discounts for instance: https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/televisions/75qned86tsa-…

    • Legit. I’ve purchased from them previously with no issues

    • I have also used them in the past, no issues from me…

  • If you price match at JB they can subtract $59 to compensate for the free shipping, and you can C&C for $2461

    • +2

Alternatively try and get them to match they deal they gave me last month

      https://imgur.com/a/Tz6iDqv

      • +1

I was able to get them down to $2310 in January and used discounted gift cards. You got a great price at $2179.

        • how do you get these discounts? they ant offering me anything ''the price given there is not within our wiggle room sadly.''

      • not working they say we are not able to verify screenshots and the price given there is not within our wiggle room sadly.

        • I was pretty lucky at the time there were a few deals floating around. Since that fateful purchase though I’ve been banned from JB Hi Fi purchasing online for reasons they won’t give me.

Every purchase since then has failed their verification (same details as when I purchased the TV) and their customer service reps leave so much to be desired simply telling there were inconsistencies with my order and telling me to shop in store and that’s the last they will be discussing the matter with me. A wee bit mind boggling. Maybe it’s cos I keep sharing the order screenshot with whoever asks 😂

      • @MBix I tried a few times and they wouldn’t match it, I kept trying and got to a rep who wanted to see the full order number before proceeding

  • +1

This looks like an amazing deal and after patiently watching the 55" prices, I might just pull the trigger today and get this bad boy. Many thanks OP!

My question is, why didn't people pounce on this?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/893385

    For a 77" OLED at $3K?

    • Sorry to sound (and be) pushy.

      Anybody have a suggestion please?

      I’m FOMOing here.

      • 77 and 83" samsung are WOLED in Au vs the slightly more desireable QD-OLED. The C4 itself is also WOLED panel.
People did jump on the deal (I did anyways) as it went oos the night it was posted, and that deal had a few loop that you had to jump through as well

        • @Robertouno Did you manage to snap one up?

          • +1

@Barry off EastEnders: Yes set for delivery on the 26th

            • @Robertouno: Jeez, I'm torn - Do I pull the trigger on this one, wait for Samsung to possibly restock the 77" at the pre-order/trade in price?

What do you reckon? PS know that you will be 100% liable for any advice ;)

    • That deal only lasted a few hours before it ended.

  • Just what I am looking for (but not quite yet) and a very nice price at that. Will I or won't I? That is the question.

  • +2

yeah the mini LED TVs I think are better they are brighter and tend to have better colour accuracy but they dont' have the deep blacks you get with oled

    • Yes, yes they do, in anything but a pitch black room. Have a window? Like to watch during the day, after work, or gasp on a weekend? Mini-leds significantly superior colour brightneess blows oled completely out of the water.

I've had OLED, including top end Sony's. You can pry my TCL C855 from my cold, dead hands and that's meant to be a bargain basement mini-led. Things insanely good.

      • +2

C855 blacks are pretty damn good though.

      • +2

I've had my eyes on 85" TCL Mini-LED forever but my 2016 Samsung LED won't die yet!

      • -1

Yeah nah, had the TCL and whilst quality content is excellent, they can't match the blacks of OLED's and TCL's operating systems and slow processors are a pain in the butt, not to mention the dodgy wifi performance.

        • -1

You didn't have the C855. I'd agree with you otherwise, this gens a quantum, quantum leap ahead in every respect. Motion is fantastic. Blacks are deep. Colours are insane. Read the reviews.

          • -2

@Ademos: No need, I've seen it in store and compared to my G4 it just isn't as good for what I discern in TV's.

But if that's what you can afford, then fair enough.

            • @Barrj46: Anyone that thinks "in store" is a reflection on reality, in a light controlled environment with the highest margin models setup to look the best, isn't equipped to offer an opinion in this conversation. That or you're simply straight up lying. OLED fanboi's are insufferable, and consistenly completely ignore the commentary with regards to peak brightness and naturally lit rooms.

Again, did you miss the part where I mentioned that I can afford a better unit than you bought? I've had the high end sony's. They weren't worth it.

              • -1

@Ademos: Yes talking about insufferable, I think you've got that trait pretty well nailed down.

Stupid comments that you make really - higher margin models set up to look the best. What store do you shop in, or haven't you actually been in one recently. Rediculous comment, or perhaps you are just straight up lying. As to high end Sony's, why would you buy those over priced under performing units. The older Sony OLED's were awful, very dark and lacking any pop in the picture. Perhaps it was set up in your store to "look the best" and that's why you were silly enough to waste your money, or perhaps you were a Sony "fanboi"

Anyway, enjoy you retina searing brightness and overblown inaccurate colours.

Mr not qualified to offer an opinion.

                • @Barrj46:

enjoy you retina searing brightness and overblown inaccurate colours.

Most people do. I bet you've spent 5,900 hours whining about loud music and compression on dance forums too, right? Nobody. Cares. There's a niche set of enthusiasts in their dark caves hemming and hawing of perfect blacks, where 90% of the real world reacts with outright exclamation when they see the F1 playing, in the middle of day, in a room with floor to ceiling windows, on a modern MINI-LED display where any modern OLED would be barely visible.

You're allowed to enjoy your preference. You're also allowed to walk away and let others enjoy their superior technology for their application.

The commentary and lack of knowledge on what actually happens in the real world stores, is the definition of "book smart, street stupid". Direct, applicable experience doesn't care about your theory.

Thoughts on the 77' for $3,768?

    • +2

Buy. I bought one last night at $3750 at JB and I doubt it will go much lower but who knows how much stock they have? I got the only one in stock in my area and the warehouse had 6 more on order. Buy when it reaches a price you are happy with and either be happy with that price or take a break from OzB for a while.

      • Wow, great price. Seeing it at $4185 on their website.

        Was it $3750 yesterday?

        • you can request a price match - they are doing 3768 today for 77.

          • @maverick1: Ok, where is the price to match?

Link to the merchant selling for $3768

            • +1

@Barry off EastEnders: you have to go JB's website>click live chat>ask them to price match.
Give them the web link of 77 or 65 or any other model that you are interested in.

              • +1

@maverick1: Well.. I just got home from JB and I ended snagging it for $3600 with delivery!

I'm so relieved to that the long search has come to an end and I can rest easy.

Thank you for helping out with this!

(PS. For anyone else interested, there are 4 left in the country)

                • @Barry off EastEnders: Well done! You got it $200 cheaper than me with delivery! I'm going to stay happy with what I paid and can't wait for delivery :) Now what are you going to watch first? Part of my deal was an Apple TV which from everything I've read is the best way to watch content without ads and telemetry coming out the wazoo (infuse app is also handy apparently). My TV won't be connecting to the internet.

                • @Barry off EastEnders: Hey bud,

Anything you can share for me to get the same deal? JBHIFI only willing to do $3700 + Delivery.

                  Thanks

      • Pulled the trigger - price matched at HN. Limited stock in my area and I wasn’t going to travel.

  • I have the C3 77 and paid $3900 and thought that was a great price. I my opinion they are a fantastic TV. My friend bought one also and agrees with me. Can’t go wrong with this TV.

  • Get it price matched at JB and use the 10% off ultimate gift cards currently on promo at Coles or bonus 10% at Woolies.
Just need to pay for delivery or go pick it up for more savings

How does this compare to the Samsung S95D, any insights appreciated!

    • S95 Samsung is more of a match to LG G models.

But - significantly greater chance of image retention according to Rtings long term reviews and Samsung are now known for very poor quality. Went from being regarded as the best, to now being known (amongst repairmen) as close to the worst.

  • Waiting patiently for a deal equivalent to The Good Guys Commercial's $2,370 ATL.

    • I got mine today for $2300 delivered from the good guys! It was an attempted price match. They couldn’t match that same orice die to some reasons but they came back with an offer of $2300 delivered (needed manager approval)

  • already got mine, still in box though lol

  • but seems like they boosted the price $2,799
