    Iphone X let’s do it

    • yeah, it's time for iPhone 10. Apple put best engineering team on 10 rather than 8.

      • +3

        Marketing* :0)

    • +1

It’s going to be over the $1000 import threshold. So once the GST kicks in it won’t be much of a deal - plus only 1 year warranty.

      • How particular are they about paying the gst? Is it like drugs, some of them slip through?

        • +2

Pretty much guaranteed to get picked up for the GST - The government spends a lot more money collecting tax than trying to keep the drugs out lol

  • +1

    This is from OS?

    • Shipped (SG) by DHL Express

      • +5

I assume SG means Singapore but wouldn't it be easier if people noted that it's a grey import?

  • +9

Waiting for Pixel 2 XL. :D

  • I remember (back in the old days) it took a long time to get the iPhone 3 & 4 (due to stock shortage), but iPhones, Pixels, LGs & Samsungs are now coming thick and fast!
Wonder what the naming convention will be after X.

    • XI

    • It’ll go back to the 8s 9 etc I believe. The x is only because it’s the 10 year anniversary of the iphones release.

      • That would be a bad decision because they would be backtracking leaving no reason for X customers to upgrade. I'd say XI

        • im sure next years upgrades will probably be a upgrade over the 8's but a side grade for the x. will just depend on what they decide to make the phone as. loyalists will just upgrade anyway, others will just consider the choice. most people upgrade every 2 years or there abouts, im looking to get a new phone as i have the 6plus (about 2-3 years old) right now and its starting to get a bit aged.

        • Like it makes sense to go to the 11 or XI etc but you forget that society is full of idiots and most likely won't realise that the X means 10, so they will be able to go back to 9 and hey even use the number 10 haha.

        • @sprucemoose92:

Apple are marketing it as iPhone TEN though (when it is spoken). So quite unlikely that they'll use 10 again as numbers I would think.

        • +1

          @sprucemoose92: iphone spinal tap edition.

Had a bad experience with Shopmonk with their xperia z3+ recently… Bad communications and ozbargain orders cancelled

I got the Dyson V8 Absolute delivered from them for $455, no complaints from me.

    Shopmonk isn't banned yet? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/310554

    • +5

Seems to be a love/hate relationship. They were hated by Ozbargain, then they had the Bose QC35's for crazy cheap, so Ozbargain loved them again. Now …

      • +22

Haha yeah, OzBargain members are like cheap whores. Give them a good deal and they will fall in love again :p

        • +6

Hey hey hey I may be an ozbargainer and a cheap whore but .. what was the third thing you said?

    • +1

That was eBay store and they have sold various other items. I havent bought anything from them, but what is the reason for your neg?
Don't reason your negg based on another post from their ebay store where people were just trolling.

    • Wow, that is an eye-opener!

    • I emailed them and PMed the shop rep on here for my phone 3 days ago and am still waiting to hear back.
so much for that 24hr response time…..

    • Not yet

  • +1

Great prices but limited to '1 year 'Apple International Warranty'. If you purchase an 'Australian' non grey import you are covered by the Australian Consumer Law 2 Year Warranty.

Tough call… save $249 or extra year warranty…..

    Persuade me…

    • +10

Apple don't have international warranty on iPhones. This is another thing shopmonk is lying about.

You may be lucky, they may honour it if you go in store but there is no guarantee.

      • Yes. That's right. just depend on your luck with the apple rep.
You may able to claim the GST if bought in Aust…and 2-ry warranty. So not worth the trouble(for me)

    • -6

used many many iphones, never had to claim warranty, they don't really break by themselves from my experience

  • +5

For those that are wondering re the warranty vs savings.

I bought an iphone 8 plus 64gb for $1,089.10 from AU seller on ebay (after plug20). Add the cashback and I paid $1075, inc overnight shipping.

So I saved around $100 but get 2 yr warranty, overnight shipping, and no delays re shopmonk quoted 10-21 day shipping.

    • Was this from my-phonez? Did you get a shipping notification yet? I've had no response from him, I've paid and everything.

      • yes it was from myphonez. with ebay buyer protection it seemed like an easy choice.

    • +1

Ordered an iPhone 8 64gb from shopmonk on 01/10/17 for $899. Still waiting for it to be delivered. During order they said delivery between 16-31 october. Called them yesterday and they still say delivery between 16-31 october. They are unsure when they will dispatch it, but say will do it between 16-310ctober.

      • I ordered my iPhone 8 64gb from shopmonk on 18th Sep. Got a notification saying it was dispatch from Singapore on 13th Oct and I received it on the 15th Oct (Sunday!) delivered by DHL. Just wait patiently I guess :)

        • Thank you very much for the info eason2946.

    • Can i claim TRS if i bought on ebay austock?

      • +1

Yes you can as long as the receipt has GST. If the order total including GST is over $1000, make sure the invoice is under the name of the passenger who is claiming via TRS.

    • hi @SweetLift - this is pretty good. Can you please share which eBay seller you ordered from?

    • hey.. got a link to eBay AUS stock?

  • +9

Support from these guys is pretty bad, bought a Samsung earlier and contacted them for some issues with the handset and no response whatsoever.
You are pretty much on your own with these people if anything wrong with these expensive phones.

  • its hard going flogging the 4th version of a phone isnt it? i really hope they dont bring out the 8s!!! or just market it as the iphone 9!

  • Shopmonk, List it on ebay for $899 and participate in 20% off deals then I'd consider buying from you.

  • +1

Be weary, you may have to wait a looong time before these get shipped, I brought a Note 8 off them on the 3rd of Oct, still waiting, no news on shipping details… :(

    • That is ridiculous given it was released last month.

  • +3

Shopmonk are dodgy as.. They have dodgy manipulative methods but selling the QC35 for stupid money meant that people couldn't say no and gave them good returns on future sales.. But their true colours are now bubbling to the surface again.

    • +5

To be fair… whether their ebay feeback was fake or not.. it's absolutely nothing compared to the practices of gearbest as of late. I can only speak from experience and that experience has I been ordered a xiaomi note 4x from shopmonk, had it in my hand within 1 week no problems… order an amazfit pace watch from gearbest, over 6 weeks later I had a defective watch in my hand that now needs to be returned. Other than the alleged fake ebay reviews, what evidence do you have to discredit shopmonk.. I'm neutral on the matter but like to see proof when people make accusations..

      • +1

Fake feedback is bad.. However the rep comes back with lies that cannot possibly be true (eg selling 12.95 headphones with bose images to 11 customers who all bought one day and received and left glowing feedback within 24 hours).
If he will flat out lie in public when he has already been found out then you have to question what they would be like when you are on your own if you are one of the people (15% no idea) who have a warranty issue down the line. It won't seem such a great buy then.
They have been proven to have zero integrity right from the CEO down.
Never used gearbest and if feedback is poor then I would only take a chance on a low value item).

    • I think you are just trolling in multiple threads. That was for ebay and this is the main store. Their shipping times are over other stores and if people are happy it is good. You need to move on for ebay feedback.
Fake reviews are not good, but Rep stated once that they are new company and might have done some mistakes.
Many stores are known to offer money to people giving positive reviews as well. It is as bad as fake reviews.

May be time to move on…

      • +1

        You have missed my point.

I have been silent for months. Now people are complaining about issues so I resurrected the thread.

The rep lied, was proven lying and then continued to lie. I despise liars, even more so when they keep digging the lie deeper.

Aside from that, people are receiving rooted phones, being ignored and struggling to get any warranty support.

If people don't speak up then powerful people get away with things over and over.. Just look at the news ;)

Buying something without issue is great. But if you have an issue with your product then your opinion will shift. And this WILL happen to a proportion of people who buy from them.

    • Please prove your claim that they are dodgy, otherwise the neg for this post is unwarranted.

      • Did you read the linked threads? You would think people would actually care about customer service, honesty, warranty.. Nope

  • kinda wondering if buying a iPhone grey import and purchasing apple care would work together ? giving it the 2 year warranty plus they cover most of the cost of damages if any.

    • good question, can you call them and find out :p

  • +3

Beware of this seller, my brother bought a google home and they sent an Opened / Customer return to him. Damaged box and seal opened from before… then they offered a small compensation or return/refund but when opted for return/refund, NO RESPONSE. Paypal claim open now…
DODGYMONK is a better name for this company !
Good luck with warranties for anything if they are reselling opened / customer returned products.

  • +3

Just a word of caution to all, one of the most dodgy practise I came across started with a online seller selling stuff cheaply online. He would initially honour most of them just to gather word of mouth and faith. Meanwhile, he would have dozen of other bargain (with high deposit or of big products) to keep the money rolling. Once the seller felt he got enough money, he would close shop or just disappear. I am not saying this is the case with Shopmonk, but we don't even know a single staff, manager, or even director of the company who we can clearly identify or tied in with the shop. Furthermore, having no physical shop here in Australia or in Singapore coupled with the inconsistent delivery and feedback from everyone, I am starting to really doubt their reputation. Even their so called "warehouses" here in australia have no physical address. If you are really running a authentic or reputable shop, would you not be comfortable listing the address down? I must say again, once again, I am not bashing Shopmonk, I really wish there are more shops around giving bargain and competition which is good for all of us..but at the end of the day, some deals are just too good to be true.

    • They are backed by Accel https://www.accel.com/companies/all
The same VC that has funded other well-known companies
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accel_Partners

    • +1

They simply don't have a phone number on their website to call if you need to contact them, you just need to email for days and weeks for a reply, I've not received any reply for my email last week..no way I'm going to buy again from this dodgy seller

    • +1

Ordered a phone on 28th Sep, still "PROCESSING". Are they 'making' it after order?!

      • -1

Looks like they are making it from scratch by hand or something

        • +5

Can't believe you would show your face in a shopmonk post after that…

I'm the voice of the people, the voice of reason

        • +5

@eneloop: racist bastard is a voice of reason ? lol some deluded idiot here

        • +2

          @eneloop:

Please don’t call yourself as voice of people, you racist are definitely on your own

        • -4

          @b0b0:

I just said what the majority of people are scared to say. People get pissed all over all too often, I stick up for myself and for the people. I'm the people's champ. Everyone has some sort of prejudice one way or the other and as soon as we speak out, the world would be a better place. We should also be able to say what we want how we want. Just look at Pauline Hanson and Donald Trump, they say what is on people's minds but are too weak to say and look how popular they are.

        • @eneloop:

I bought an iPhone 8+ with them. Service was good and delivery was quick. Unless you really have bad experience with shopmonk, please don’t bad mouth and sounded like you’re being racist for the sake of humanity.

Good experience don’t usually appear on reviews. Only bad reviews do. So people you do your due diligence and weigh the discount vs the risk, instead of listening to rants from people. There will always be someone like [@eneloop]

  • Bought s8+ from them, recieved it in 3 days. Bought a phone case from Sydney and it took a week to arrive.

    • hi, when did you order your s8+? thanks

      • Around 3 weeks ago

  • i feel that OZB should help shield the sheep who just click on cheap prices raged less of the seller being the devil or not.

  • Hi guys - I'm travelling overseas in 10 days - what eBay store is reliable to order from for iPhone 8 Plus 64gb?

  • +1

Bought i8+ from the last post. ETA 16-30/Oct. Received 13/10. All good. No Issues from these guys.

  • +2

I received handset with was rooted. It was Galaxy C9 Pro. Was listed as brand new.

  • -1

Weren't there claims of iPhone 8 "exploding"? Or has this been covered up to prevent hurting Apple's revenue…?

    • +2

Owners were sent Samsung stickers to cover the apple logo ;)

  • ordered both an 8 and an 8+ when this deal first came, was quoted 15-30/10 delivery - wife's 8 came on the 5th, and my 8+ came on the 13th. no issues so far

    • +1

did you get notification of shipping? mine is just stuck on processing…

      • Mine too stuck on processing

      • same…

  • +1

Since buying the iPhone 6S I have had no interest in iPhone 7, 8 or X. That's ok though because Apple will release a iOS version that will make my phone obsolete forcing me to buy a iPhone with all the features I don't want.

    • agree lol…. my iPhone7’s battery drops quick after ‘upgrading’ to new IOS

  • +2

Bought a MacBook Air for $999 from these guys and it took just under a week to be delivered.
    All good would purchase again

  • +1

How about you post everyone’s Iphones from the last deal before advertising more for sale!

    • +2

Shopmonk didn't advertise? This user just reposted the old deal. It should be consolidated

      • Yeh I was hoping there was a shopmonk rep?

        • +3

There is a rep.. But don't expect him to tell you the truth.

  • +3

Anyone got their iPhone 8? I tried contacting shopmonk customer service via email and here 3 weeks ago - No reply. Is shopmonk really that bad?.

    • +1

Probably just understaffed and ill-equipped to handle the customer service related work having focused their manpower on operations.

  • +4

Still waiting to receive my iphone i ordered on the 24/09/17 promised to be delivered by 31/10 and yet my order is still processing.

    • Same! U got yours yet? There phone number doesnt even ring or do they reply to emails
