It's similar to this previous deal that expired on the 24th of December 2016, and it's back on sale again https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/282535#comment-4319972

Also, it's my first deal post, so my apologies in advance if I mess up things.

Does it come with that frother attachment as pictured? Thanks OP.

      Underneath the pic it says:

Bluetooth connectivity - make a perfect coffee remotely from your phone* Includes Aeroccino3 milk frother * Fast heat up time* Automatic capsule ejection

So yeah, just like the last deal.

So it does, Thanks OP, good deal :)

    • Why wouldn't it?

    • +1

The frother base is physically attached to the coffee machine.

what about compatibility of general pods

    • I really haven't bought this machine yet, but a lot of OzBargainers probably bought it from the last two deals and will hopefully answer your question.

    • +1

All pods are designed for a particular system. You just have to buy pods that says Nespresso Compatible.

Nice neat machine, works with all the usual 3rd party pods

    great machine

good find although last deal was a tad better with store credit at TGG - thats finished now.

    • I know. I waited for too long and missed on that $20 store credit as well. Haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. Will see around the 4th in case anything pops up somewhere. :)

Bought this machine. Very easy to use and the milk frother is easy to use. Compatible with 3rd party pod.

Awesome deal and bought one just before Christmas using my GG credit, not sure why the deal was marked expired because it has been going for a few weeks. Any suggestions for cheaper pods? Nespresso is a bit expensive at 60-80c each.

    • Haven't bought it yet myself, but if you search the model name on YouTube I think you might come across some suggestions on pods etc.

PS: Also two individuals (few posts up) have mentioned the use of 3d party pods, so you might ask them what types of other third party pods are out there.

      • These guys are selling third party pods, they ended up around 40c each with the buy three packs get one free offer when I bought 80 for $32.

U should be able to find them at supermarkets too.

          Ta.

          @nubzy, check this link, mate.

    • The Republica Organic pods are fantastic. The Rome one is really nice and the pods are biodegradable. They're available online or at Coles. I prefer these over the Nespresso pods and they are cheaper

The pack on the right is the new packaging (same product)

  • I brought it in the previous deal. Its a really good machine for the price. Have found a few good 3rd party pods from the coffee pod shop ($.39c per capsule) with a referral code (friend698) + free delivery & ofcourse there is a wide variety at woolies/coles that are always on sale. Nespresso pods range from 49cents to 92cents for limited edition ones.

Should also note, you can either choose a $70 cash back or get $95 worth of nespresso store credit to use on pods or accessories (must redeem before 8th January)

edit: Nespresso free delivery ends 1st January, so if you are going to pickup today and want pods, make sure to redeem before midnight.

  • How doesn't the Bluetooth thing work?
Do you say have to leave a pod already loaded in the machine so in the morning you could potentially tell the machine to pour a coffee before you get to the kitchen?

    • Bluetooth lets you control the machine with the mobile. It also keeps count of pods being used - although it's a total amount so of less value if you have a range of pods ie it might say you have lots of pods left, but you may be running low on the columbian oe whatever.

With the app you can also schedule the machine to make a cup of coffee at a specific time - you just need to remember to put a pod in the machine in the evening before bed, and put a cup under the spout. As it heats up quickly I don't really see the point unless you put the machine next to your bed and use it as an alarm clock.

Basically, the bluetooth feature is a nice touch, but a little pointless for most people who will simply use the buttons.

      • I would prime it before making the first cup of coffee in the morning so the Bluetooth feature is pointless to me too.
Edit: maybe can use the Bluetooth feature to prime it when I am in the bed without putting any pods in it then get up and make a cup of coffee straight away.

        • Yeah. I do the same - prime it first, and later run it again to flush it. It's still pretty hot if you don't run one through first, but I still like to do it. I got it mainly because my old frother was starting to wear out, but it is a good machine for the price even if you don't use the Bluetooth feature. Ooh - FYI found an extra feature at Christmas when it stopped working - the used pod basket was full. Emptied, and it fired up again.

      • Yeah I'm struggling to see the value in the Bluetooth function.

The machine is a good price though, so worth getting if your in the market for a machine I guess

  • It seems the difference between this and Delonghi Lattissima Plus was $199 after Cash Back is that this one doesn't say it can do cappuccino or latte macchiato.

    • +1

      Completely different machines.

The Lattissima plus has a built in milk frothier, which is why it says that it can pour milk based drinks.

This maching can do the same, you just use the separate milk frother.

  • are there any aluminium 3rd party pods?

  • +1

I bought a Lat+ at TGG yesterday, and I want to bring to your attention that you can buy a Gold Concierge service that extends your warranty to 3 years. This is an instant replacement warranty with TGG, not repair warranty with Nespresso which takes longer and you don't get a new unit.

It cost me $58 for the program.

TGG will replace it with the same model unit during those 3 years. If that model is no longer found, you can pay the difference and get the higher model, or get a full refund for the price purchased plus the $58 that it cost you for the extended warranty. You don't have to deal with Nespresso, wait for an RA number, send it in, wait for them to repair it and send it back. You get an instant replacement. I don't normally buy extended warranties but…

But it doesn't end there. Another perk you get is 3x $20 store credits a year (can be used online), for a total of $180 in store credit. This more than pays for itself, provided you spend your credits and don't buy things you weren't going to buy.

There are other perks that come with the program including more credits for other things like cleaning an AC unit, or credit towards an installation of something.

You won't be sold up on this gold concierge package unless a TGG staff member serves you, which doesn't tend to happen except on quiet days (weekdays). I wasn't interested until he told me about the $180 in store credits, turning this into a profit.

    Read about it here

  • Whats the difference between this and the more expensive Nespresso pod machines?

    • integrated milk unit, more coffee modes. It's disappointing that they lock some coffee modes to the most expensive models.

  • Website now say "Sorry the "Nespresso Delonghi Prodigio Silver Capsule Machine" is not available, we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
    :-) too late

    • O shit! I didn't buy it either. I thought to wait until the last day, just in case TGG drops in one of those store credits or something (cuz I missed out on the deal before this one with the $20 store credit). This one was supposed to expire on the 5th, so since it's out of stock now that means we've missed out for good. FML! :(

  • Wonder if someone like David Jones would price match ?

    • I think they usually check to see if the product is available online. Since this isn't, then I doubt they'll. Try to call different stores and see if they have any in stock. You never know, this might be unavailable just online due to stock shortage, but some stores might still have few in stock.

  • Did anyone else not receive an email with the claim number? I got a email "further claim information" and it said there would be another email sent, which would contain my claim number. Haven't received that..

    • Wait a few more days.

I don't have it either yet.

  • A belated thanks OP for the deal, bought it during the deal and got the $95 coffee credit instead of $70 cash because I needed capsules anyway. If you join Nespresso club they gives you a Nespresso branded welcome gift with any $99 starter pack. $25 extra coffee credit value - $4 real cash + (supposedly) $30 worth of gift.

    • My pleasure. Enjoy. :)
